Mia’s POV
”Wow, we finally have a healer after the death of Aunt Linda.” Sarah exclaimed happily and gave me a tight hug, while Rachel did the same. ”Congratulation Mia.” They both chorused in unison, while I just smiled and sucked a deep breath.
”Your gift is special.” Aunt Silva announced proudly, ”Why?” I asked curious. ”Because we haven’t gotten a healer since the passing away of Linda.” She explained. ”How long has she been gone?” I asked curious. ” it’s been five years since she left us.” Aunt Silva said with a sigh. ”If she was a healer, then what killed her?” I asked curious.
”Seems you don’t know Aunt Linda.” Sarah said with a scoff while I just rolled my eyes, ”She was more than a hundred years old, and it was believed she was called to the heavens by the moon goddess.” Aunt Silva explained, while I just nodded my head.
”Let’s go in.” She tapped me on the shoulder and led us back into the house. ”Congratulations.” A voice which sounded exactly like mine spoke in my head. ”My…my… Wolf.” I blurted out to the hearing of everyone.
”Did your wolf just speak to you?” Sarah asked trilled while I nodded my head in excitement. ”Speak to her, let’s see if she will respond.” Rachael suggested. ”Of course, I can respond.” My wolf spoke up. ”She could hear us.” I announced to everyone.
”Nice to meet you Mia, I’m glad I have chosen you.” My Wolf spoke up, her words got me confused, and I asked, ”You choose me?” ”Yes, I’m one of its kind and will choose who would have me as a wolf.” She explained, ”With time, you will understand what I mean.” She explained, while I just nodded my head.
”What is she saying?” Rachael asked, curiously, ”Nothing serious, we are just getting to know each other.” I explained. ”Wow, you are so lucky, Mia. Firstly, you have a unique color of wolf, and now you have a unique ability, I’m jealous.” Sarah said with a playful groan, while I just scoffed and looked away. ”Now you just have to find your mate.” Rachael said with a mischievous grin, which made me scoffed and sat on one of the one-seater couches.
My thoughts drifted to Jayson, and silently I prayed he turned out to be my Mate. ”You like him?” My wolf asked, it was obvious she could read my thoughts.
”Maybe.” I responded shyly, ”Don’t get your hopes up, the way of the moon goddess is different from ours.” My wolf warned. Her words made me realize that I was just daydreaming, someone like me could never be mate to Jayson, he is just too good to be mine.
”Mia, are you listening?” Rachael’s loud voice caught my attention. ”What were you saying?” I asked, confused. ”It seems you were communicating with your wolf.” Aunt Silva said while handing a glass of wine to me, which I took. ”Lets cheers to your successful transformation and hope you find a mate soon.” ”Cheers.” We all chorused in unison and took a sip of our drink.
We made merry among ourselves while Sarah and Rachael kept bombarding me with questions about the transformation. A few minutes later, the ringing of my phone got my attention. I went for it in my bag and saw that it was Aunt Cara calling. Quickly, I picked up the call and placed it on my ear. ”How was it?” She asked the very moment the call was picked.
”It was successful.” I responded happily. ”Thank goddess.” She exclaimed in relief over the phone, ”I have made your favorite dish, do come home.” She said, ”I’ll be there soon.” I said and ended the call. ” That’s aunt Cara.” I announced to my wolf, ”I know her.” My Wolf responded, which got me curious. ”How do you know her?” I asked. ”I automatically know everyone and everything in your life.” My wolf responded, while I just nodded my head and stood to my feet. ”Thanks everyone, I really do appreciate what you all did for me, I’m really grateful.” I said, half in tears. ”Stop it, Mia, you would have done the same.” Sarah said and gave me a tight hug, ”You will be fine.” She assured me, while I smiled and freed myself from her embrace.
”I need to go back home, aunt Cara is waiting for me.” I announced to everyone and gave both Sarah and Rachael a quick hug. ”Thanks for everything.” I directed those words to Aunt Silva, who responded with a nod. I picked up my bag and left the apartment.
Rachael’s home is just a stone’s throw from the mansion, so there was no need getting a cab. ”So, you know everything about me?” I asked my wolf, ”Yeah.” She responded. ”Favorite color?” I asked, ”Navy blue.” She answered correctly. ”Favorite movie.” ”flipped.” She replied correctly. ”Best subject?” ”Chemistry.” She responded correctly.
I continued asking her questions about myself, and she got everything correctly, which baffled me.
I reached the mansion’s gate, rang the bell and the gate went wide open. The moment I stepped into the mansion, my Wolf howled loudly in my head, which made me whimper in pain. ”Are you okay?” One of the security guards asked, but I couldn’t give him a response, rather I communicated with my Wolf. ”What’s wrong?” I asked and got a quick response, ”Mate, our mate is here.” She announced loudly in my head.
”Our… Mate… Is here…?” I stuttered in panic, ”Yes!” She responded and pushed me forward.
With heart thumping with fear, I hurriedly left the gate and dashed into the sitting room, but found no one except for a few servants. ”Where is he?” I asked, excited but also scared, wondering who my mate would turn out to be. ”Upstairs.” My wolf whispered and forced me to take the stairs. Hurriedly, I took the stairs and perceived the enticing scents of fresh wood. The scents were so alluring that I couldn’t help but inhale deeply. Curious, I followed the direction of the scents and ended up in front of Ricardo’s door.
Confused, I stared at the door and wondered who was inside Ricardo’s room, perhaps Jayson because he was the only person who entered Ricardo’s room except from his whores. ”Go in.” My wolf urged, but I was scared and anxious, wondering who my mate would turn out to be. ”Mate!” My wolf howled excitedly and pushed me forward to the door. Without hesitation, I held the doorknob of the door, pushed it forward and hurriedly stepped into the room.
The moment I got into the room, I was shocked to see Ricardo standing at the center of the room, staring at me with a blank look. ”Mate!” My Wolf howled loudly and pushed me forward to him. ”You…” I stammered in disbelief and moved my gaze around the room, hoping to see Jayson or someone else in the room, but alas it was just Ricardo.
”You… Are…” I mumbled in shock while holding my breath. With panic, I sucked a deep breath and realized the alluring scent of fresh woods was coming from him. ”This can’t be possible.” I said while shaking my head in disbelief, ”This can’t be true.” I stammered in doubt and held his gaze. He had a blank look on his face, like he wasn’t surprised at what was going on. ”You knew?” I asked, stunned. ”Knew what?” He asked in an irritated tone, ”That we are mates?” I asked and took a step closer to him, ”You knew that I was your mate?” I asked and got an angry groan from him. This explains everything, this explains why he was pushing me away. ”Is that why you have been showing me all this attitude because we are mate?” I asked while taking another step closer, ”Stay back!” He ordered with rage. ”Don’t you dare take a step closer to me.” He muttered those words as a warning.
