Book:My Half Brother, My Mate Published:2024-7-5

Mia’s POV
”Are you nervous?” Sarah asked, but I didn’t give her an answer. ”I wish I could tell you how it feels, but I’m not yet eighteen, so…” She paused and gave me a comforting smile. ”No need to get scared, I believe you will do just fine.” She assured me, while I responded with a nod.
”Alright girls, we will make use of the backyard.” Rachael’s mom, Aunt Silva, announced as she took a step closer to me. ”It’s okay to be nervous.” She tapped my shoulder and led the way while we all followed behind.
We all arrived at the backyard. I moved my gaze around and saw a circle drawn on the ground with the blood of aunt Silva, since she had already gotten her wolf.
”Take off your clothes and stand in the circle.” She directed firmly. Nervously, I took off my clothes and stood inside the circle with a trembling body.
”Drink this.” She handed a cup which was filled with a mixed portion. It was believed that the portion would help me in shifting into my wolf.
I took the cup of portion from her, stared at both Sarah and Rachel, who blinked a comforting smile and urged me to go ahead.
Inhaling deeply, I closed my eyes and emptied the portion into my mouth. It tastes like a sour mango juice mixed with herbs. ”What is this…” I tried to ask as I handed over the cup, but a sudden pain struck my entire body.
”Free yourself.” Aunt Silva ordered.
My body was on fire, it felt like a different type of energy was passing through me. I felt my legs getting weak, and I couldn’t stand anymore, so I collapsed on the floor and Aunt Silva went down with me, and sealed her palms with mine.
The rate of my breath increased, and a severe pain hit my head. ”Free yourself Mia” She yelled, but all I could do was scream when I felt a crack in my bone. ”That is it, Mia, now you have to let your wolf out.” She encouraged.
”It’s too painful, I can’t.” I yelled in pain while I felt another crack in my bones. I had a few classmates who told me how it felt when they first shifted to their wolf, but none of them told me it was this painful. It felt like every part of my body was being hit with a hammer.
”I can’t, aunt, please make it stop, it’s too painful.” I begged and tried to open my eyes, but I realized I couldn’t. ”Make the pain stop.” I pleaded as my whole body trembled in pain.
”Stop this nonsense, Mia.” She warned. ”You are the daughter of the almighty alpha Luciano, weakness does not ruin in your blood, or do you want to go wolfless and let your name spread around the pack as a girl who couldn’t shift into her wolf? Do you know the pain and stigma you will have to endure if you don’t have a wolf?” Aunt Silva questioned.
Her words encouraged me and made me realize that I can’t go wolfless. If I go wolfless, then I wouldn’t be able to find my mate and live a happy life. ”You can do this.” I encouraged myself and felt a different type of energy envelope my entire body.
”That’s it, Mia, that’s it.” I heard Aunt Silva’s voice, but it sounded strange in my ear.
”Ahhhh.” I screamed in pain as I felt my bones cracking at a rapid speed, and then the pain stopped.
I tried to speak, but I realized I had lost my voice instead. Again I attempted to speak, but rather I heard a strange sound, more like a soft howl.
”Congratulations Mia, you’ve gotten your wolf, and it’s…” Aunt Silva paused and continued, ”Try opening your eyes.”gradually I tried to open my eyes and this time it worked.
I could see her clearly, but I noticed my view was different and brighter.
”I can’t speak.” I tried speaking out, but howled instead.
”It’s okay Mia, just try to telepath with me, I can hear you from there.” Aunt Silva spoke with a big smile. I moved my gaze to Sarah and Rachel, who stared back at me with a stunned expression which I couldn’t explain.
”How do I telepath? I don’t even know how to telepath.” I murmured to myself.
”Do you wish to see yourself?” Aunt Silva asked.
”Yes, yes.” I tried speaking, but it came out as a howl.
”It’s okay Mia, relax and think about me. If you want to communicate with me, I’ll hear you from there.”
I sucked a deep breath and thought of her. ”Can you hear me?” I whispered to myself while thinking of her.
”Yes, I can perfectly hear you.” she replied through telepathy and I heard her.
”Oh my God Mia, you are a…” Sarah paused and flashed me a big smile.
”Hand over the mirror.” Rachel’s Mom ordered and quickly, Rachel handed the mirror over to her while she took a few steps towards me.
”Do you want to see your Wolf?” Aunt Silva asked through telepathy. ”Yes.” I responded anxiously, hoping my wolf wouldn’t be a small and fragile looking one.
Slowly, Aunt Silva placed the big mirror in front of me.
”Holy goddess.” I mumbled in shock as I held my breath.
What I saw in the mirror was a big blonde-colored wolf. It had short fur on its body and longer fur at the neck. Its ears were pointed slightly forward, the wolf’s forehead, neck, hair, and hackles were raised, and it had sea-blue eyes which speak gentleness and innocence.
I noticed it has long sharp claws and longer forepaws, which made it look a bit dangerous and scary.
”Holy crab is this me.” I whispered to myself and took a step backward from the mirror.
”Don’t be scared of your wolf, Mia, soon enough you will be able to communicate with it.” Aunt Silva spoke up, but I ignored her and stared at the mirror again.
I have never seen or heard of a blonde wolf, there were black wolves, brown, and even wine-colored wolves, but never have I seen or heard of a blonde wolf.
”You look beautiful Vicky, let me hug you.” Rachel tried to come closer to me, but her mother stopped her
”Let her be.”she warned her and moved her gaze over to me.
”Now you have to shift back to your human form.”
”How do I do that.” I asked through telepathy in a worried tone as the thought of not being able to change to my human form crossed my mind.
”Very simple, just think of yourself in your human form.” She assured me.
Following her directions, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and imagined myself in my human form. Sea blue eyes, blonde curly hair, and a slim slender body.
I felt my bones crack again, but this time it wasn’t as painful as the first.
Gradually, I shifted to my human form and collapsed on the floor with panting breath.
”Oh my goodness.” Sarah giggled happily, which made me curious.
”What is it ”I asked while trying to sit up.
”Your hair Mia, take a look.” She showed the mirror to me, and I was shocked when I saw my hair was glittering with a bright shade of blonde, like the color of my wolf.
”Woah.” I whispered and ran my fingers through my hair.
The color was indeed beautiful, and it suits me perfectly.
”Will the color change.” I asked aunt Silva while trying to stand on my feet.
”No, it came with your wolf and abilities, and talking about your abilities we need to find out what your abilities are, but before then, put on your clothes.”
I nodded my head to her words and tiredly put on my clothes.
”Your hair looks nice.” Sarah smiled widely, while I flashed her a weak smile and stood upright.
”Take a deep breath and close your eyes.” I followed aunt Silva’s direction and closed my eyes.” Now imagine yourself on a battlefield, fighting thousands of vampires.” I hearkened to her words and did as she instructed.
”Take another deep breath.”she urged. I took another deep breath and relaxed my nerves.
”Now imagine you are surrounded by thousands of vampires, and think of what to do to take them off.” I took a deep breath and played the scenario in my head, and all I could think was my blonde colored wolf bouncing on them, but then a vampire caught me and bite off my left arm which made me scream out in pain and quickly opened my eyes.
The pain felt so real and intense that I had to quickly look at my left arm and was stunned when I realized I was injured. ”How is this…” I stammered in fear while holding the gaze of everyone.
”Calm down.” Rachel’s mom urged me and held my injured arm, ”Surely there is a reason why you are wounded.” She said and went into deep thought, probably communicating with her wolf. ”Wish for the injury to heal.” She said after several seconds of silence. Heeding to her words, I stared at the bruise on my arm and wished for it to be healed and right before my eyes the Injury disappeared, leaving no trace of an Injury.
”Congratulations Mia, you have the gift of healing, our pack now has a healer.” Aunt Silva announced proudly.
