Alpha Ricardo’s POV
”What Is she doing?” I asked myself as I watched her struggle to climb down the wall after climbing to the top of the long ladder. ”Mi…” I wanted to call out, but decided to follow her and see what she was up to.
Curiously, I stood there and watched her struggle to jump down the fence, which she succeeded after several attempts.
Quickly, I walked to the wall, climbed the ladder and jumped out of the fence. I moved my gaze to the left and saw her few meters away from me, hurrying away.
”Is she running away?” I asked my wolf, but he growled and shut himself away from me. ”Suit yourself.” I responded with a murmur and followed her behind, making sure I kept a good distance from her, so she wouldn’t know I was following her.
I followed her and walked for almost twenty minutes before I realized she was taking the path that led to the abandoned forest. Curiously, I followed her and stood behind a tree when I saw her standing at the entrance of the abandoned forest. ”You must be kidding me.” I murmured in disbelief as I saw her close her eyes in fear before opening them.
She put on her torchlight and stepped into the Forest. ”What is she doing?” I asked as I saw her taking more steps into the forest until I lost sight of her.
Quickly, I came out of my hiding spot and walked towards the direction of the forest entry.
I got to the entrance of the forest and plucked a leaf from a tree, put it in between my lips before entering the forest.
I knew Victoria being in there was dangerous for her, and there was every possibility that she might not make it out alive. I stepped into the forest, but then a mischievous plan came to me which made me grin evilly.
Quickly, I took off my clothes and easily shifted into my wolf. After shifting into my wolf, I raced deeper into the Forest and inhaled deeply to get her scents, which I easily perceived.
I followed the direction of her scents and saw her walking deeper into the forest.
”She is going to retrieve the body of her mother. What a brave girl.” My wolf praised while I groaned and stood behind the trees.
I slowly walked behind and saw her stop and fearfully turned around, but I was quick and hid behind the trees. I saw her shivering with fear as she continued walking deeper until she stopped a few meters away from a body covered with white cloth.
”Mother!” She whimpered in pain and flashed the torchlight on the corpse. ”What should I do?” She murmured in fear and moved her gaze around, while I just stood behind the trees and watched.
”I have to pull her out of this place.” She murmured to herself and took a step toward the corpse, but then I decided it was enough.
I walked out of the tree and stood a few meters away from her. With panic, she seized her steps the moment she felt my presence behind her. While her body shuddered with fear, she slowly turned around and stared at me with stunned and terrified eyes.
I knew Mia had never seen my wolf, so she would never know it was me. ”Who are…you…” She stammered in fear and took a step backward. Angrily, I held her gaze and took a step forward, while she took a step backwards with fear-filled eyes.
”Please don’t harm me, I was just here to retrieve my mother’s corpse, which is not supposed to be here.” She pleaded nervously, while I growled and took another step to her. ”Stay back!” She yelled as a warning, which made me scoff within. She was really scared, and she was terrible at hiding it. ”I’m the daughter of the late Alpha Luciano and the soon-to-be Alpha is my brother, Ricardo. I believe you know him and what he could do with his abilities.” She threatened while pointing a finger at me.
”Brother?” I whispered, irritated, and took another step towards her and this time she didn’t stand there, rather she began running deeper into the forest.
I wanted to ignore her and turned to take my leave, but I realized she was running deeper into the forest, which was really dangerous for her.
Annoyingly, I raced after her until she got to a spot, stopped and turned around to face me. ”Please let me go, I just wanted to take my mother out of this place.” She pleaded while trembling in fear. ”Stop it, Rick, you are scaring her.” My Wolf warned, which I Ignored and took a step closer to her. ”Stay away!” She pleaded and just then her torchlight fell to the ground.
I noticed she was staring at the torchlight on the ground and stared back at me with terrified eyes. To scare her, I took another step closer to her and noticed she held on to her head, and before I could tell what was happening she fell to the ground and fainted. I stared at her unconscious body on the ground and did not know what to do. ”Don’t just stand there, do something.” My wolf urged, which made me groan and shifted to my human form, totally naked.
I picked up the torchlight from the ground and took a step closer to her body. I flashed the torchlight on her and saw her lashes soaked with tears. ”You are a Terrible mate.” Those words from my wolf got me furious.
Angrily, I wrapped my right hand on the back of her legs, and wrapped the other hand on her back and lifted her up from the ground. With her in my arms, I made my way out of the Forest, ignoring the creepy sounds some hunted spirits were making, in order to scare me.
After a ten-minute walk, we arrived at the entrance of the forest where I kept my clothes. Sighing heavily, I dropped her on the ground and put on my clothes. I touched the pocket of my pants and realized I didn’t come with my phone, which caused a heavy sigh out of my lips.
”Don’t tell me you are leaving her here?” My wolf warned, while I just sighed and stared at her unconscious body. ”Just take her home.” My wolf pleaded.
Left with no choice, I picked her up from the ground and made my way back to the mansion.
After an almost twenty-minute walk, we arrived at the mansion’s gate. ”Open up.” I spoke through the speaker. ”Sir Ricardo?” One of the security men asked unsure, but I didn’t give him a reply.
I believe he must have seen me through the cameras and quickly opened up the gate. Sighing heavily, I walked into the mansion and saw the startled eyes of the security guards. I knew they had countless questions to ask me about how I left the mansion, but seeing the mood I was in, no one dare to ask.
I left the gate, walked into the sitting room and I wanted to drop her on one of the couches, but I decided to just take her to her room.
Groaning irritated, I took the stairs, arrived at her door and pushed the door wide open. I stepped into the room and was shocked at the mess greeting me.
Clothes, textbooks and muddy shoes lay across the floor in knotted clumps. Pages from teens magazines peppered the wall and CDs marched across the unmade bed.
Sighing heavily, I walked to the messy bed and laid her properly on it. I left the bed and moved my gaze around the untidy room with a sigh before leaving and shutting the door behind me.
I walked to the next door, which was my room, and got in. ”Simon.” I called through telepathy and got a quick response. ”Tell the men at the gate not to tell Mia I was the one who brought her home.” ” Roger that.” He responded without asking questions.
I couldn’t sleep throughout the night because I was nervous about the ritual which would take place in the early hours of the morning.
I stayed awake all through the night until I realized it was 7am. I lazily stood to my feet, took a quick shower and dressed.
I took the stairs to the sitting room, where the gammas and a few members of the pack were waiting for me.
Slowly, I took a deep breath when I saw everyone’s amused eyes on me.
”We’ve been waiting for you.” Jennifer, my current girlfriend, smiled widely at me and wrapped her hands around my arm. ”Tell her to get her hands off you, if not, she will make the wrong impression about your relationship.” My wolf warned, which I totally ignored.
Jennifer and I were the perfect couple in everyone’s eyes, and I had the thought of making her my Luna. With her as my Luna, my pack will be one of the most feared and respected packs in the world because of her gift of incredible speed.
”Let’s begin the ritual.” I said loudly to everyone, who cheered in return and circled me.
Jennifer stood aside while I stood at the center of the circle.
I took off the black jacket I was putting on and gave it to Jayson standing beside me, whom, I assumed, would be my beta.
I took off the white shirt I was wearing and handed it over to him, making me shirtless and naked from my stomach upward.
Slowly, I knelt on the floor while father’s beta walked up to me with a bowl of blood, which belonged to my ancestors and had been kept for ages.
”It’s time to rule over the pack, but first you have to be found worthy by your ancestors.” Dad’s beta said, and picked up a knife from the tray, which was held by a servant.
”Are you ready?” He asked.
”Always ready.” I spoke proudly and without fear in me.
I mean, I’ve been waiting for this day.
”Very well then, let the ritual begin.” He moved closer to me and with strength, he ran the knife deeply into my right palm, where blood rushed out profusely. Quickly, he placed the bowl of blood under my palm and let my blood drop in the bowl.
If my blood is being separated from the other blood in the bowl, that means I’m not a son of my father and my ancestors did not accept me.
Curiously, everyone fixed their gaze on the bowl as my blood kept dropping in, to see if my blood would be separated from the other blood, but to my greatest joy my blood mixed with that of my ancestors.
”Whooo.” Everyone in the sitting room howled happily as it was confirmed I was accepted by my ancestors.
”Hail Alpha Ricardo, all hail alpha Ricardo” They all chorused in unison as I stood up from the floor.
”Proud of you, son.” Uncle Stephen muttered proudly.
”Congrats dear.” Jennifer smiled at me as she handed my shirt and jacket back to me.
”Thank you.” I smiled and took the clothes from her
”When should I start getting ready for my ritual.” She asked excitedly.
”Very soon.” The moment I said those words, I perceived a familiar, alluring and fascinating scent.
I moved my nose around, only to meet eyes with Mia. She noticed my gaze on her and quickly hid behind her friends.
”Are you looking for someone.” Jennifer asked.
”No.” I responded and put on my shirt, left two buttons open, and hung the jacket on my shoulder.
”Congratulation Alpha Ricardo, are you ready for the final ritual.” Jackson, who was the brother of Jennifer, brought forth his hand for a handshake
”Thank you, I hope we become friends and allies in the future.” I replied and took his hand.
”Of course, even though my sister isn’t your mate, I’d advise you to take her as your mate and Luna. This will strengthen our relationship.” He explained with a soft chuckle.
”Well said.” I said and walked away while Jennifer followed me behind.
”When are you announcing me as your Luna.” Jennifer asked with a soft grumble.
”You know it’s still early for that…” I paused, as I made eyes with Mia.
The moment she made eyes with me, she quickly looked away and continued talking to Jayson’s sister.
”Why are you refusing to make me your mate?” Jenifer asked with a grumble, but I didn’t say a word. ”We’ve been dating for three years, don’t you think I deserve to be your mate?” She asked angrily. ”Or do you think I’m not worthy to be your mate?” She asked a bit annoyed, which angered me. ”Listen, I think we should break up.” I blurted out. ”What?” She asked with stunned eyes. ”You heard me right, let’s just break up.” I said and tried to walk away, but she blocked my path. ”Why… What…” I did not let her finish before cutting in. ” Because I have a mate.” I blurted out.
