His smile disgusted Avery, she wanted to bite off his head from his shoulders.
“Come on, follow me to my room. Let’s give them some privacy while we have ours.” He went to touch her breast but she caught his hand mid-air.
“Count yourself lucky, Sullivan. I’m in a good mood today.” Audrey whispered as she watched with satisfaction as his face transformed from shock to immense pain.
“Argh! Who are you, release me! I’m sorry! Please!” Mr. Sullivan mumbled painfully, he didn’t risk raising his voice in fear of people finding out what he had done.
“Good boy, next up,” Audrey paused and tilted her head to his daughter’s direction.
“Your daughter. I promise I won’t be in such a good mood, when her time comes, I’ll burn her to ash.” She flung his wrist away from her.
“Ah! Oh no! Please, do not harm her, she’s the only one I have left.” Mr. Sullivan begged as he blew on his red burnt wrist.
His face was filled with horror as he saw his wrist still fizzling, and the burning sensation was getting worse.
He bit down his lips to stop him from screaming out in pain, he removed his eyes from his wrist, not being able to watch the ugly sight of his skin getting burnt.
He quickly covered it with his sleeve, hoping no one saw him.
Audrey considered him lucky, she only bruised his wrist a little with her fire, and he was here acting like she had set him on fire.
She ignored him and ordered for more drinks.
Alpha Lake didn’t understand why Adeline had insisted they went far away from the bar for a dance, he had been waiting for when Audrey would come out from the restroom, but she never came to call on him.
He had informed his chef to prepare them a meal in his penthouse just above the club, now, he feared the food might get cold as Audrey was taking her precious time in the restroom.
He had planned to treat her nicely tonight, possibly, tell her who she was to him and what it meant to an Alpha wolf like himself. He was getting anxious.
He decided to look back at her chair, and that’s when her saw her, drinking glass after glass of his Gold-rimmed wine.
He immediately removed Adeline’s hand from his shoulders and walked away from her, marching straight to Audrey.
“Enough, kitten, you’ll get wasted.” He took the glass from her and placed it on the table.
He sent a hard stare at Alice, silently reprimanding her for offering Audrey glass after glass of such a strong drink.
“I’m sorry Alpha, but she insisted…”
“Shut up!” He growled at her.
“Look who came back!” Audrey said, slurring her words.
He immediately turned to her, he would deal with Alice later.
“Come on, we’re going home.” He helped her stand on her feet but she moved away from him the moment her feet touched the ground.
“I’m fine, I’m not drunk.” Her voice was clear as she spoke but he didn’t believe her one bit.
It was impossible for her to not be drunk. He stared at the number of glasses she’d consumed, then back at her. He believed she was a hundred percent wasted.
“Oh, dear Moon goddess! She’s wasted!” Adeline put her hands over her mouth in surprise.
“Don’t worry Alpha, I’ll ride with you and she’ll ride with my father, you don’t have to handle such stress from a drunk human. My dad will bring her safely to your Pack, that’s where we’re headed from here, we’ll be lodging at your hotel.” Adeline went to remove Audrey from the Alpha but her father was quick to stop her.
He held her back, afraid she might offend Audrey and face the same fate he hid, if not worse.
“Oh no dear, we’ll get going… on our own. We’ll meet again at the party tomorrow.
Come on, Alpha Lucas is waiting.” He bowed his head in respect and dragged his daughter away from Audrey and the Alpha.
What for Dad?!” Adeline shrugged her father’s hand away from her as they stepped outside the club.
Wasn’t he the one that had told her that he wanted to fuck Audrey so bad? Why was he rejecting the opportunity she was creating for her, and also hindering her opportunity with the Alpha, she was so mad.
“Don’t mess with her, Adeline. She’s not that simple.” He warned her seriously.
“Oh please, Dad! Just because you couldn’t get a simple human woman to sleep with you doesn’t make her hard for me to deal with.
Watch me, I’ll be the Luna of the Grey Blood Pack.” Adeline stumped away from her father, ignoring his words.
“Come on, Kitten. Let’s get you inside…”
“Leave me alone!” Audrey pushed Alpha Lake aside as he came to carry her down from the car when they reached the Packhouse.
Audrey had pretended to fall asleep on their way back to the Pack; she didn’t want to speak to him after what he did.
The image of him dancing with Adeline was still fresh in her mind, she didn’t admit it, but deep down, her chest was constricting in jealousy.
Alpha Lake stood beside the car, wondering what had gone wrong in their night. They almost had a successful outing, but, Mr. Sullivan and his daughter had dampened their mood.
Wait… He looked at Audrey’s retreating figure and a thought came into his mind.
‘She’s jealous!’ He mused.
He came to a decision, as he followed her in. So she did have feelings for him? He was going to use her jealousy in his favor.
Tomorrow, at the party, he would see how she reacts when he chooses Adeline as his date instead of her; he wanted her jealousy to trigger her possessiveness, and lead her right into his arms.
“Alpha, I have something to tell you.” Sandra met the alpha the moment he entered the Packhouse, Janeth trailing behind in a distance.
They had just finished decorating the hall for tomorrow; and, decided to call it a day, but Janeth had seen the Alpha come out of the car with Audrey and her jealousy got the best of her.
She pleaded with Sandra to help her get rid of the imposter who was forcefully taking her place beside the Alpha. She needed her to convince the Alpha that she was the real Audrey.
She even promised Sandra a good reward for her when she finally becomes the Luna of the Grey Blood Pack.
Sandra had agreed, not that she believed her, she just had a plan she needed to follow, she didn’t want to get busted yet, she wanted to see all the packages the psycho before her had prepared.
“Speak,” He said impatiently.
He had wanted to follow Audrey and apologize for how the night had turned out, but, it seemed like this night wasn’t just meant for them.
“Alpha, this is Audrey… the real Audrey,” Sandra said.
She willed her heart to calm down, lying to the Alpha was an offense worth punishing, but she was willing to do it for her friend… the real Audrey.
She didn’t particularly support the way their Alpha had treated Audrey before she disappeared, If this would help her get back to him in any way, then, she was more than willing to side with Audrey in every way.
“What do you mean, Sandra?” Alpha Lake questioned, raising a suspicious brow at her, his anger was rising, he didn’t have time for rubbish talks now.
“She, she just told me things that made me believe her, Alpha. She might have changed a little due to what she had gone through in the past year, but I know this is her. I confirm this is Audrey. Please, give her a chance to prove herself,” Sandra was anxious, she feared Alpha Lake might perceive her fear, and that would be the end of her.
Alpha Lake silently observed both girls before him. Of course, he didn’t believe them, but he wanted to hear their sub-story.
He was going to put an end to all this.
“You, to my study!” He said to Janeth and walked away, his cold aura leaving shivers on their body as he marched past them.
Sandra didn’t know what to expect from their meeting, she just hoped the strange imposter wouldn’t throw her under the bus.
“Who are you?” Alpha Lake’s voice was deathly quiet.
He was keenly looking at Janeth, the more he looked at her, the more convinced he was that she was not his Audrey.
“I am Audrey, Alpha.” Sandra was standing in front of his desk while he was comfortably seated on his chair.
“How did you leave the Pack?” He fired on with his questions.
Audrey had been almost dead when he met her at the dungeon.
There was no way she could remember anything that had happened, and there was no way she could recover this perfectly.
