“Are you ready?” Audrey asked pointedly.
Alpha Lake was surprised, he had actually thought he was going to be teaching her some basic punches and kicks, and he hoped to also use the opportunity to flirt with her.
He never expected her to look so ready for a real fight.
“You look sexy when you’re fierce, kitten,”
POW!
Everyone turned their heads to see what had caused the bone-cracking sound.
Alpha Lake’s face turned to the side from the heavy punch.
He never expected Audrey to be the first to attack, and he marveled at how strong her punch was.
“Speed, and flexibility. Yet, you weren’t fast enough to dodge a punch.” Audrey mocked, placing her fists in front, ready to attack or defend.
Alpha Lake spat out the blood from his mouth and turned his face to her, cracking his neck and wiping blood stains off his lips.
“Challenge accepted, little kitten.”
Before Audrey could react, Alpha Lake moved at incredible speed and pinned her to the floor.
He locked his legs around her and pinned her hands above her head on the ground.
“Now, this is speed, Kitten.” He smirked handsomely above her.
Audrey could have easily dodged his attack, but, that would be exposing herself. No human should be able to dodge a wolf’s speed attack.
“This is cheating. How about we fight fairly?” Audrey asked, trying to distract him.
“Nothing is fair in a battle, kitten. This is your puni-argh!” Alpha Lake groaned painfully.
Audrey used the time he was distracted with talking to headbutt him and quickly brought up her leg and pushed against his chest, landing him on the floor.
She did a back flip and landed elegantly on her legs.
She could feel questioning eyes on her. And she could see her friends watching her in awe.
“How dare you, bitch!” Audrey immediately turned back just in time and caught the hand that was aiming to slap her.
“Stop it! Stacy.” Alpha Lake was behind Audrey in a matter of seconds.
Blood stains could be seen on his nose, but his wounds were long healed.
“Do I know you?” Audrey asked. Still holding Stacy’s hand in a strong grip.
“Let go of my hand, you bitch!” Stacy commanded.
Everyone was now watching the scene.
They knew how badly Stacy had treated Audrey in the past. Even though they knew this wasn’t Audrey, they knew Stacy wasn’t aware of that yet, and they hoped this Catherine taught Stacy a lesson.
So far, they’ve become skeptical about Audrey, they’ve seen her strength and believed she had some kind of superpowers too, for no one has ever been able to successfully launch an unexpected attack on their Alpha.
But this strange Catherine did it so effortlessly.
They had been scared for her, but they saw she was well able to stand her ground.
Amongst men, she gained respect, but amongst women; she gained lots of haters and jealousy.
“Let her go, kitten.” Alpha Lake gently placed his hands on Audrey’s shoulder.
He felt a sudden unexplainable rage from her, and he didn’t want her to get herself in trouble with Stacy.
It meant nothing to him, but he didn’t just want to have a confrontation with the Crystal Pack.
Audrey reluctantly released her hand and stepped away from her.
She turned around and started walking away. She didn’t want to entertain Stacy’s stupidity, she knew how annoying and stupid she could get, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to tolerate her this time. She wasn’t the old Audrey anymore.
She was afraid she might lose it with Stacy.
“I, Stacy Maxwell of the Crystal Pack, Challenge you, Audrey to a battle of submission.” Stacy sounded enraged.
“You can’t!” Alpha Lake’s voice sounded all through the field. He was mad.
“Leave, Stacy. Leave before I change my mind.” He growled.
“I accept!” Everyone was shocked at the reply.
All the werewolves in the training field turned towards the forests behind them where the voice had come from, and, they were rendered speechless.
Audrey followed their movements and turned around too. The moment she saw the person walking towards them, she rolled her eyes and smirked.
‘Let the war begin.’ She mused inside her head.
“W-who are you?” Stacy asked, confusion written all over her being.
“Audrey, I am Audrey.” The girl stated firmly.
Everywhere was quiet.
Alpha Lake stood, not believing his eyes. What was going on? Who was this imposter? He knew for a fact that the girl before him wasn’t his Audrey, her lavender was too strong and too fake.
He could still remember Audrey’s scent, her Lavender scent was mild and sweet; not this shocking and pungent smell that seemed like she had soaked in lavender for centuries, it was irritating.
“Audrey?” He stepped forward and looked at the girl from hair to toe.
Everything about her screamed fake! But he wasn’t going to expose her yet, if she could look this way, it was with the help of a witch.
He wanted to find out her mission here, and why she thought Audrey was her best appearance to wear.
“Yes, Alpha. It’s me, Audrey.” She answered and walked towards him but he raised his hand and stopped her.
“You said you accepted her challenge?” He asked.
“Yes, I do.” She agreed.
And there he had it; his answer.
Audrey would never accept such a challenge from Stacy, but this imposter was eager to fight with her.
Everyone was still trying to wrap their head around the strange girl’s sudden appearance, and now; she was eagerly picking a fight with a wolf.
They all knew Audrey didn’t have a wolf, and they wondered how she was going to survive fighting with a she-wolf.
“Then, who is she?” Stacy pointed at Audrey.
Stacy’s question got everyone confused, including Sandra and Alex… even Alpha Lake.
Alpha Lake was angry. He knew he had let the mate bond affect his judgment, but this was a wake-up call to him.
He’s always had an inkling that Catherine(Audrey) was not who she posed to be, and now, he was sure.
He felt so stupid, someone out there was purposely trying to mess with his Pack by sending these girls to him.
He knew Catherine was sent by Mr. Russell to snoop on him in his behalf, but he didn’t understand why she had to look so much like Audrey, but he didn’t know who had sent this ugly-looking puppet claiming to be Audrey.
But one thing was for sure; the girl before him was formed by a witch, and he would not tolerate any silly games from those evil creatures.
It was time he commenced on his plan with Philip.
