“I said follow me, little kitten,” He smirked as he said it, sending warm tingles down her core.
“I’m not your kitten. My name is Catherine.” Audrey said as she pryed her wrist away from his hold.
But he held it again. He didn’t seem like he was giving up anytime soon.
Her words, again, were familiar, but he pushed the possibility away.
“Stop resisting me…”
“Alpha Lake!” A sweet voice rang behind them.
Audrey looked him in the eyes, and this time, it was her turn to smirk.
She snatched her hands away from him and left the kitchen. He stood there, boiling in anger.
Ms. Bridget just rolled her eyes at the girl that had just roudly matched into her kitchen.
She already knew how everything would end.
Alpha Lake stood fixed in Audrey direction. He wondered if she was honestly oblivious to this strong chemistry between them.
He was outraged at her, never has it been ever heard that a female had embarrassed him publicly, a human female at that.
He would so teach her a lesson tonight.
“Alpha, I came all the way from Crystal Pack to see you. Won’t you spare me a glance?” He felt perfectly manicured nails curl around his bicep.
He had totally forgotten about his visitor. Unwanted visitor.
“Hello, Stacy. What brings you here?” He asked and started walking out of the kitchen, not waiting for Stacy.
He wasn’t in the mood to entertain her coquettishness and he didn’t invite her.
Stacy was the only daughter of the Alpha and Luna of the Crystal Pack.
She was the golden child and hotshot for wolves who wanted to date or mate her for status purposes. Her looks weren’t that great, but she pimped herself up with plastic surgery. Her fake blonde hair could be spotted from miles away. And her personality stunk more than a skunk.
She had just returned from her fashion and design study in France. And now, she was here to become the Luna of the Grey Blood Pack, just like her parents had promised her.
“What brings me here? Oh come on, don’t joke that way,” She caught up to him at the terrace in front of the Packhouse and hooked her arms in his.
“I missed my mate. So, I came to see him.” She announced loudly as they passed three girls who weren’t subtle in their displeasure of her, they let it show through their eyes.
“You found your mate?” Alpha Lake asked, eyeing the premises to check if he would find Audrey.
“Ouch! You hurt me,” Stacy faked hurt by putting her hand on her chest and making a sad face.
“Yes, I found my mate.” She said when she saw he wasn’t paying her drama any attention.
“Awesome, congratula…”
“It’s you.”
“No, I’m not.” He rebuked firmly.
Alpha Lake removed his hands from hers and faced her, holding both of her shoulders to make her look straight at him.
“Stacy, you know well why I tolerate you, don’t push it. I don’t care about your parents, and cut off my monthly supply to your Pack, they’re no match for me. I can send you back right now and never let you step your foot into my territory. So, do not push it. Okay?” He whispered lowly so only both of them heard what he said.
He was saving her face, he knew her type of person was too proud and wouldn’t want people to hear him talking about her that way. He helped her maintain his reputation.
“Oh no, I’m sorry if I’ve crossed the line, I just thought, after all these years, maybe we should ma…”
“Alpha, training has commenced.” Andrew informed as he walked up to them and stood directly between them.
He knew how difficult Stacy could be when she wanted something.
They had all went to the same school as children, he knew her too well, he wished he didn’t.
“Let’s go. Take her with you.” Alpha Lake pointed behind Andrew and walked away.
“Oh, hey there Stacy. Didn’t see you there, thought you might have grown some inches, how wrong I was.” Andrew attacked first.
“Urgh! Wait till I’m your Luna, you’ll pay for this.” Stacy balled her fists and stumped away.
Andrew never failed to put her in her place. He hated bullies; he couldn’t do anything about how the Alpha treated Audrey, but he could still remember how badly Stacy treated Audrey each time she visited their Pack. And, not once did he let her go scot-free.
Alpha Lake reached the training field and saw everyone ready and waiting for his command.
He made it a compulsory rule that everyone in his Pack, who wasn’t sick or disabled, must join in training, for their own safety benefits.
“Pair in two’s!” He barked out, using his Alpha command.
“Yes, Alpha!” Everyone on chorused.
He had switched to warrior mood, every other thing became irrelevant till after the training, or… so he thought, till he saw Audrey in a black tight leggings and black sport bra, walking confidently into the crowd.
She had her hair in a round bun, defining her her slim beautiful face. The sun was doing justice to her skin, it popped, shining like a new mirror, and her shape in that clothing had him transfixed to her and only her.
Now, every other thing became irrelevant, except for her.
He felt the emotions from the wolves; confusion, jealousy, hatred, admiration and, lust!.
“Focus on your partners!” He barked out, removing their attention from Audrey.
He watched her stop at the centre of the field. Near her friends. That was where his strongest warriors stood.
He let her be, she could be anywhere she wanted as long as long she didn’t spar with them. He didn’t want her getting hurt.
Audrey felt their curious eyes on her but she cared less. She was here to vent, and so help her Moon goddess; she would beat any bitch that dares her to pulp. She wished they were still stupid enough to pick on her like they used to.
She was so angry, she needed someone as a punch bag.
“Hi, do you want to join us? We’ll go easy on you.” Sandra came and stood beside her, Alex following behind.
“I’ll teach you, if you want, I’m good.” Alex boasted.
“I wouldn’t mind, Sandra, Alex.” She chuckled at their shocked faces.
She was surprised Alex talked more now. He had always been introverted before, she wondered what changed him.
“Yay! Wait, you know our names?”
She wanted to tell them that Ms. Bridget had informed her on their names but she could no longer keep up with this act.
She missed her only true friends.
She remembered they had learned sign language for fun before, and she knew exactly what to do.
“Watch my hands.” She whispered to them.
‘I am Audrey.’ She signed with her hands.
“What!” Sandra covered her palms over her mouth
“I knew it!!” Alex hugged her and lifted her off the floor, turning in circles with her.
“Hey, I want to hug too,” Sandra stopped their rotation and joined in the group hug.
“But, hey, don’t tell a single soul, Ms. Bridget will fill you in later. Remember, be subtle. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. Or else I’ll be in a biiigggg trouble. Understand?” Audrey whispered.
They nodded their heads enthusiasticly. Too happy to refuse anything she said at the moment.
“Catherine! Come spar with me.” Alpha Lake called out to Audrey.
He had seen those duo walk up to her again. He didn’t like the way that Alex boy touched his mate. And he didn’t want her being friends with Sandra, with anybody at all.
Audrey sighed and reluctantly walked towards him, using the sign language to tell her friends ‘bye for now.’
‘Fine, he’ll do for the punch bag.’ Audrey thought to herself.
“Everyone, we are going to be testing our speed and and flexibility, take turns practicing each, and fight like you’re in a real battle; you could be in one any second!” He barked out his orders as he walked boldly towards Audrey.
“Yes Alpha!” The wolves replied gingerly.
Four steps away from Audrey, he took off his tank top, revealing his heavenly toned muscles.
The sun made him glow, and he easily flexed his muscles, purposely showing off his sexy he was to his mate.
Everyone was attracted to the Alpha and secretary duo. They felt the Intense atmosphere between them, and they feared Audrey may not be able to leave this training field with her legs.
She dared to accept the Alpha’s invitation?!
Everyone was eager to know how it ended between them.
