Chapter 382: Who Else?

Riya chuckled softly, masking the murderous intent in her eyes, and said with a faint smile, “Since the Edwards family has invited me, I can’t refuse. After all, they were my former employers.”
“Riya… you can’t go with him!” Devon struggled to speak.
Riya sighed inwardly. How could she not know that going with Ameer this time would likely lead to disaster? But what choice did she have?
Ameer was so powerful, and judging by his demeanor, he held a significant position in the war department. What good would resistance do?
It was better to comply with Ameer’s demands to ensure Devon’s safety.
Seeing Ameer torment her brother like this, how could she bear it?
So, in this situation, she made an unwavering choice to sacrifice herself.
“Devon, stay here and be safe!”
Riya instructed, then stood up gracefully and followed Ameer.
“Where are you taking me?”
“I’ll go with you!”
Seeing Riya’s calm demeanor, even Ameer showed a hint of admiration in his eyes.
This woman indeed had some courage. If only she weren’t his enemy, he would have liked to see what it felt like to conquer such a woman!
But now, she was involved in his brother’s death, so she had to die.
“Follow me.”
“Don’t try any tricks.”
Ameer said coldly, “I am a high ranking officer in the Southern War Department. Opposing me will not end well for you.”
“If something happens to me, many people around you will accompany you to the grave! Of course… you don’t have the ability to kill me!”
Riya didn’t argue with him but followed behind. Ameer’s words were not without reason, but Riya would not let herself be slaughtered so easily.
She couldn’t figure out what Ameer was planning.
Once in the car, Riya asked coldly, “What exactly do you want? Just say it.”
Ameer sat beside her, gripping her chin forcefully and squeezing her face. His eyes were cold. “You’ll find out soon enough. Drive!”
The car started moving slowly.
Riya broke free from his grip and said icily, “Mr. Edwards, what you’re doing is very impolite to a lady.”
Ameer was tall and imposing, exuding an air of authority that was irresistibly attractive to most women.
Riya could sense that Ameer’s aura was similar to Quentin’s. However, while she had a good impression of Quentin, she felt a deep-seated aversion to Ameer.
Quentin’s presence carried an open and honest masculinity-dominant and strong, yet providing a sense of protection for the weak.
Ameer, on the other hand, was domineering and unreasonable. The weak could only feel fear in his presence.
His dominance was laced with a strong sense of aggression and coldness that was extremely off-putting.
Ameer sneered coldly. “My brother’s death is related to you, isn’t it?”
“What does it have to do with me? Mr. Edwards, are you implying…”
Riya smiled faintly. “I did have some interactions with your brother before he died, but I wasn’t there when he died.”
“Besides, your brother committed suicide out of guilt because he did something wrong. What does that have to do with me?”
Ameer’s eyes turned vicious as he grabbed Riya by the throat, squeezing tightly. His voice was icy!
“Bitch, I know you alone couldn’t have killed my brother. I’ll ask you once: who else was involved in killing my brother?”
“Tell me, and I’ll let you die quickly! Otherwise… I’ll make sure you wish you were dead!”
