With a light tap on the ground, Leo’s Divine Dragon Sword shone brightly, emitting a clear dragon’s roar as he swung it fiercely towards Helena atop Altar Heights.
Just as the Divine Dragon Sword was about to strike Helena, a black barrier suddenly spread around Altar Heights.
The sword hit the black barrier and was met with a tremendous rebound force.
Leo flipped in mid-air, landed on the ground, and retreated several meters.
“You can’t interrupt my Witch Methods,” Helena sneered coldly, her eyes turning an eerie crimson.
A dense black mist enveloped the sky above Altar Heights, filled with a chilling and sinister aura.
Soon, a massive ghostly face seemed to form within the black mist.
“With my blood as a sacrifice, Death Rite, commence!” Helena cackled, slapping her chest hard.
A large mouthful of blood spurted from Helena’s mouth into the dense black mist.
The black mist began to churn violently.
The ghostly face grew clearer, towering ten meters high, its shape shifting slightly like a demon’s face from the abyss.
The terror and malevolence it exuded sent shivers down one’s spine.
Even Leo, a Cultivator, felt his soul tremble under the gaze of the giant ghostly face.
“Boy, prepare to die,” Helena’s voice dripped with venom.
Using this Witch Method had cost Helena decades of cultivation.
Helena glared at Leo, her hands weaving intricate signs. The giant ghostly face above Altar Heights locked its crimson eyes on Leo.
At that moment, Leo felt his body stiffen as if he were pinned to the ground, unable to move.
The grotesque ghostly face slowly opened its massive mouth, generating an incredibly terrifying suction force.
“Is it… tearing at my soul?”
Leo’s face changed, dizziness overtaking him as if his consciousness was being pulled from his body.
“Boy, I don’t care about your Daoist Techniques. Today, I’ll make sure your soul is shattered!” Helena’s voice was filled with malice as she chanted ancient spells and danced atop Altar Heights.
The invisible tearing force grew stronger.
Leo’s eyes began to blur.
Biting his tongue, Leo shook his head vigorously and quickly stimulated his consciousness with his divine sense.
The stimulation worked; Leo’s thoughts and awareness gradually cleared.
Slowly raising his head to look at Helena on Altar Heights, Leo sneered, “Stop wasting your energy. It’s useless.”
“You… how is this possible?” Helena was shocked once again.
Today, Leo had given her too many surprises and shocks.
“Old witch, your petty tricks might work on Martial Cultivators,” Leo’s face turned icy. “Now it’s my turn to tear apart your ghostly face.”
Leo formed hand seals, and his divine sense surged from his forehead.
Indeed, Leo was using a divine sense skill-Spiral Wave!
The Spiral Wave struck the ghostly face on Altar Heights, causing it to ripple violently and start to distort. The dense black mist began to dissipate rapidly.
“How is this possible? How can you break my Witch Clan Techniques?” Helena finally felt fear.
“Break!” Leo shouted, intensifying the Spiral Wave with his divine sense.
The ghostly face twisted further, emitting a sharp wail of anguish.
After more than ten seconds, with a loud “bang,” the ghostly face exploded, and the black mist dispersed into the air.
As the ghostly face shattered, Helena spat out a mouthful of blood, her aura becoming extremely weak.
It was clear that Helena had suffered a severe backlash once again.
The Divine Dragon Sword left Leo’s hand and shot towards Helena like a streak of light.
“You little brat, you’re good. But even if I have to self-destruct, I won’t let you have it easy!”
Helena dodged the incoming Divine Dragon Sword and lunged towards Leo with a suicidal intent.
Leo had no intention of perishing with her. His expression changed as he retreated rapidly.
A loud explosion echoed through the mountains and forests. Within a radius of dozens of meters, all rocks and vegetation were reduced to dust.
A deep crater appeared on the ground, and a thick scent of blood filled the air.
A trace of blood appeared at the corner of Leo’s mouth; Helena’s self-destruction had impacted him after all.
With a wave of his right hand, the Divine Dragon Sword flew back into his grasp.
Having dealt with Helena, it was time to handle Elder Redmond next.
Leo leaped into the air, spreading his divine sense wide.
To Leo’s surprise, he couldn’t locate Elder Redmond with his divine sense.
Leo then flew high above the forest, scanning it thoroughly.
Two or three minutes later, as Leo’s divine sense reached the edge of the forest, he finally found his target.
Elder Redmond had run quite fast; if Leo had been any later, he might have escaped.
At the edge of the forest, Elder Redmond thought he had escaped. He looked back instinctively and nearly fell in fright.
Leo appeared in mid-air not far behind Elder Redmond, holding the Divine Dragon Sword.
“Did this kid really kill Helena!?”
The thought made Elder Redmond shudder.
Run!
He had to run!
He had to escape with all his might!
In the fields at the edge of the forest were vast stretches of golden rice paddies.
The rice heads drooped gracefully under the soft glow of the setting sun.
Elder Redmond dashed into a small path among the fields.
“Stop running and surrender to death,” Leo said coldly as he landed on the ground like a grim reaper chasing Elder Redmond.
“Elder Blake is dead. Helena is dead. Am I also going to die here?” Elder Redmond thought frantically as he ran.
“Come chase me.”
“Giggling…”
Suddenly, children’s laughter echoed from the edge of the field.
Several children were playing and running around at the field’s edge.
Seeing those children, a cruel glint flashed in Elder Redmond’s eyes.
With a swift movement, Elder Redmond changed direction abruptly and dashed towards the children.
Leo immediately understood his intention and frowned.
In just a few breaths’ time, Elder Redmond reached the children.
The children who had been laughing moments ago were now terrified by Elder Redmond’s sudden appearance. They stumbled and fled in all directions; some even tumbled into the rice paddies in their panic.
Elder Redmond grabbed a little girl with his remaining right arm and squeezed her neck tightly.
The little girl was petrified and started crying loudly as she struggled.
Leo stopped three meters away from Elder Redmond.
“Boy, do you believe I’ll kill her?” Elder Redmond tightened his grip. The little girl’s face turned red instantly, unable to cry out anymore.
Leo sneered mockingly, “You’re a Martial Cultivator stooping to such despicable means to save your life. It’s truly pathetic and laughable.”
Leo’s words made Elder Redmond’s old face flush with embarrassment.
