A loud bang echoed.
Light poured in from outside.
Two figures walked in, a man and a woman.
The woman was Riya, and the man, for some reason, seemed incredibly familiar to Jaime…
Soon, his eyes widened as he recalled the young man’s identity!
At the same time, Quentin spoke up, “Jaime Edwards, long time no see. I didn’t expect you to remain the same after all these years.”
“Still engaging in despicable acts like a rat in the sewer, utterly disgusting.”
Hearing this, Jaime’s face darkened, “Quentin? You’re here today too? I was wondering who this woman’s new man was, turns out it’s you?”
“So, how’s it feel to be with a married woman? To be honest, I’ve been with her too, and it was… quite enjoyable!”
“You-” Riya’s face turned red with anger at such vulgar words, “Don’t listen to him! This old pervert has nothing to do with me!”
Quentin nodded, “Of course, I wouldn’t believe a word from this old scoundrel.”
Jaime sneered and stood up, his murky eyes now cold and indifferent. “Did you bring the stuff?”
Riya replied, “Of course, I keep my promises. Besides, rather than being endlessly harassed by you, I’d rather take the fifty million and disappear.”
“A win-win.”
“Mr. Edwards, am I right?”
Jaime laughed heartily, “Indeed, it seems you know how to adapt.”
“Now hand over the stuff.”
“Show me the goods first, then I’ll release your brother and let you go.”
“Before I see the goods, I can’t trust a cunning woman like you.”
A cold glint flashed in his eyes.
“Riya, don’t trust him! He plans to kill us once he gets the stuff. Riya, run-”
Devon shouted desperately.
Hearing this, Riya was momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected this old fox to be so ruthless, already planning to betray and kill them!
Jaime’s face also changed slightly, a sinister look appearing.
Riya’s smile stiffened, “Mr. Edwards, what do you mean by this?”
“Nothing much.”
Jaime smiled, “Hand over the stuff and I’ll let you go. Otherwise…”
“No one leaves!”
“Clap! Clap! Clap!!” He clapped his hands several times. The next moment, the door suddenly closed, and the light in the warehouse dimmed.
Several men in suits with stern expressions walked in.
Jaime sneered, “Riya, still resisting at this point? Hand over the stuff and I’ll spare your lives, but forget about the money.”
Seeing the undisguised greed and murderous intent in his eyes, Riya knew she couldn’t trust him.
She took out the Heavenly Fragrance Collection and held it in her hand, smiling. “If you touch us, I’ll tear this apart immediately. If we die, you won’t get it either!”
“Release my brother now!”
“You dare!” Jaime roared, his face turning ferocious.
“Swish-”
Several men around him drew their daggers, which gleamed coldly in the darkness.
They closed in step by step!
Quentin remained calm and composed, a hint of coldness in his eyes.
Jaime’s tone was icy, “Alright, if you want to play with me, I’ll play with you to the end! Miss Wooten, go stab Devon twice, non-lethal ones!”
“I-I don’t dare…” Aviana trembled with fear, not daring to move forward.
A man immediately placed a dagger against her neck. “So you want to die?”
The coldness of the dagger made Aviana shiver with fear. “I’ll go! I’ll go!”
“Hurry up and get over there-” The man shoved her toward Devon.
Devon’s eyes were bloodshot. “Aviana, you listened to them and lured me here for a million dollars, putting me in danger. Now you want to stab me too?”
“Good! Very good! Aviana, you’re really something! Truly ungrateful!”
His angry laughter was filled with bitterness and deep disappointment…
“I don’t want to die! Devon, I really don’t want to die! You love me so much; what’s wrong with taking a few stabs for me? If you won’t even do that, what right do you have to say you love me?”
“Besides, it’s your fault for pushing me to this point. It’s your problem! You came to save me on your own; I didn’t force you!”
“It’s all your fault!”
“No wonder…”
She closed her eyes slowly as she spoke. Her hands trembled as she gripped the dagger and suddenly stabbed it into Devon’s shoulder…
Devon closed his eyes too, his laughter filled with indescribable sorrow!
At that moment!
Whoosh-
A swift sound pierced through the air. Suddenly, Aviana screamed as her dagger fell to the ground. “My hand! My hand… it’s broken!”
She let out a blood-curdling scream.
Quentin said coldly, “You should be grateful that stone didn’t hit your forehead. Otherwise, you’d be a corpse now.”
He moved his foot slightly and kicked another stone from the ground. It shot out instantly and hit Aviana’s knee!
“Ah-!!”
Aviana screamed as her kneecap shattered from the impact. She fell to her knees with a thud, cold sweat pouring from her body!
