Blanca Roach followed Matthew Grant back to the car and attracted a lot of sideways glances from passersby along the way.
But it is normal, the two people’s face at a glance are not ordinary people.
“Alice, have you made the arrangements?” Blanca Roach turned sideways and closed the passenger door, turned her head to look at Matthew Grant and asked.
Now that she was a mother, she realized the feeling of worrying about that little person at all times, and she couldn’t forget it for a moment.
“Mrs. Brown took it to the old house, and it just so happens that Grandpa wants to see Alice.”
Matthew Grant raised his hand and rubbed Blanca Roach’s hair before skillfully unlocking the car keys, bypassing the media waiting in front of the hotel and driving towards the wedding venue.
The wedding had invited almost all the top people in the upper class, so the media attention for this wedding was very high.
After all, the feud between the gentry is the talk of the town after dinner.
But the wedding was held in a very private place, and only close friends were invited to attend, so the venue was still very strictly guarded.
Blanca Roach took Matthew Grant’s seat on her arm on the wedding side, and the whole place was decorated with great care.
“Are you hungry? It could be a long time later.” Matthew Grant sidled up to Blanca Roach’s ear and lowered his voice to ask.
Today, Blanca Roach went out early to see Isabel before Curtis Irwin’s wedding reception, and did not have time to eat breakfast.
“It’s okay, I’m not very hungry.”
Matthew Grant frowned, his eyes deep, and stopped Blanca Roach’s whole body into his arms, his hand clutching her wrist.
Blanca Roach was startled and looked around, secretly struggling.
“Matthew Grant, what are you doing? There are a lot of people here.”
“What’s wrong with me hugging my wife?” Matthew Grant ignored her words, his thin lips parted, half-threatening, half-pampering: “Don’t ever skip breakfast again, or you’ll know the consequences.”
Consequences?
Blanca Roach’s face flushed, gave up resistance, and softened her voice and murmured, “Got it …”
Not long after arriving, the entire auditorium was almost full, and there were whispers everywhere.
But it was Blanca Roach and Matthew Grant’s side that attracted more attention, and almost everyone was contemplating how to get up there and strike up a conversation.
The lights in the auditorium suddenly dimmed and the music started.
Isabel appeared at the entrance of the auditorium wearing her wedding dress and being led by her father, while Curtis Irwin stood on the stage with his eyes filled with anticipation.
The entire auditorium was silent, and only the sound of the wedding march remained.
Isabel only feels like a dream now, holding her father’s hand are slightly tightened, heart beating extra fast.
She couldn’t believe that she had actually married Curtis Irwin.
It wasn’t until Curtis Irwin took her hand into his own that the warmth of her touch made her feel a little more real and gave her a smile.
The priest stood in front of them both with his Bible and spoke slowly.
“May I ask, Miss Isabel, whether for richer or poorer, in sickness or in death, in good times or in bad, will you be unfailingly devoted to Mr. Curtis?”
“Are you willing?”
Matthew Grant followed the priest’s voice and asked in Blanca Roach’s ear, his magnetic, low voice causing Blanca Roach to lose her concentration for a moment.
Blanca Roach hooked the corners of her mouth, grabbed Matthew Grant’s tie and raised her head at his ear, lowered her voice, and said in one word.
“I do.”
The lights came back on with the music and the bride and groom exchanged rings with each other.
Matthew Grant contentedly gathered Blanca Roach into his arms, his hands ruffling the ends of her hair with one hand, his thin lips tightly pursed, his heart full of contentedness.
Blanca Roach turned her head to look around, except for some rich wives, all other faces are unknown.
Her eyes suddenly drifted across the fourth row corner of a person, I do not know why she always felt that person a little familiar, especially the side face.
