Rosiley’s eyes darkened as she listened to their conversation. She had no sympathy for Rorey.
Rorey’s actions had been extremely malevolent, and if Sachin had even been a minute later, Erain Lin would’ve insulted her modesty.
She would’ve been completely ruined.
Rosiley felt a little frightened and angry at the thought of what could have happened to her. She balled her hands into fists and her eyes glinted coldly.
She couldn’t let this matter slide!
Meanwhile, Rorey was holed up at home. She didn’t dare to go out, because Corey had slapped her so hard that her gums bled and left half her face swollen.
She had tried to get rid of the swelling by placing an ice pack over her face the entire night but her swelling had not subsided.
She felt upset and resentful but she couldn’t help shuddering in fear at the thought of Corey’s eyes that had blazed with anger.
She didn’t expect a gentleman like Corey to hit a beautiful woman like her. Moreover, he hadn’t held back when hitting her the day before.
This was the first time in her life that anyone had dared to humiliate her in such a manner.
“Dammit, dammit, I’ll make that b*tch Rosiley and that man pay!”
Rorey was so angry that she let her hatred cloud her judgment.
“Rorey, why don’t you let it slide? That man had only given you a slap, but if he had reacted more violently, he might have even harmed our unborn child. My parents are already aware of what had happened, do you want to upset them even more?” Jin Yunis was clearly annoyed by Rorey’s tirade.
He was already in a bad mood after Rosiley’s rejection earlier that night, and to make things worse, Rorey had been slapped right in front of him.
His mood worsened at the thought of that handsome man from the night before.
“Yunis, don’t you feel sorry for me when you see me in such a state? I don’t know where Rosiley found that barbarian but she clearly can’t stand to see me happy. She might even be after our unborn child. Do you really intend to let this matter slide? I can let the matter of being hit slide, but just think about it, I could’ve suffered a miscarriage. I can’t take this lying down!” Rorey said, burning with righteous anger as she slid her hands around his arms.
She even shed a few tears in an attempt to win his sympathy.
Unfortunately, her face was so swollen that her pitiful expression had an unintended comical effect.
“What else can you do even if you can’t take this lying down? We don’t even know where that man is from,” Yunis snapped. He grew more irritated with Rorey’s whining.
He had already tried digging into the background of the man who had been with Rosiley, but for some reason, he wasn’t able to find any information on him no matter how hard he tried.
This was clearly not the outcome he had expected and he felt very annoyed as a result.
There weren’t that many people in Benin City who would be able to stop him from finding out their identity, so he suspected that Rosiley’s new man was probably more outstanding than he was.
After all, it wasn’t just anyone who could be able to drive a car worth 40, 000, 000 to 50, 000, 000 yuan.
Rorey wasn’t as cautious as Yunis and said disdainfully, “Hmph, what kind of man could she be hanging out with? Moreover, do you think she could land a man who is better than you? The Ji Group is considered the top family corporation, with the exception of the four major conglomerate families. If that man was truly from one of the four families, we would’ve definitely seen him before.”
Rorey’s voice dripped with contempt and a tinge of envy.
She had to admit that Corey was far more handsome and charismatic than Yunis, but she refused to believe that Rosiley had the ability to find someone who was even more powerful than Yunis from the Ji family.
Yunis felt that Rorey’s words made sense, so he thought for a moment before he finally said, “I won’t let that man off the hook since he has hit you, but I want you to behave yourself and stop causing trouble for the time being.”
“Sure, I’ll do anything you say as long as you make that man pay,” Rorey said. She finally broke into a smile at his words.
Yunis pursed his lips and ignored her. All sorts of thoughts ran through his mind.
Rosiley’s new man was an eyesore, so he’d be more than happy to get rid of that man.
He didn’t know that Corey, the man who he was desperately trying to find out more about, was just a diversion tactic employed by Sachin, who was temporarily hiding his identity.
Corey lived overseas most of the time, so it was easy for him to slip under the radar since no one recognized him here. Nonetheless, he wasn’t someone that Yunis could afford to trifle with.
