Jordan (Three Days Later)
The days passed by quickly and soon we were saying goodbye to all the species. Cole and Mia were about to leave to go back home to the Black Alder Pack land. They both stayed over to be sure everything was over with and would go back to normal after the battle with War.
“You have one lucky mate, Jordan. She reminds me of our Luna, Elena.”, Cole said, while watching Mia speak with Ember. With the future looking bright, so was she, as her red hair seemed to almost glow brighter in the sun. She looked at me and I could feel the wave of her happiness shining on me just as bright as the day.
“How so?” I asked him.
“She, too, was blessed by Selene with powers. She is also a Lycan. Her sons, Aiden and Ethan, are born lycans as well. Your mate turned the four of you into lycans by her blood alone. That is very remarkable. I am sure Elena will be happy to know our pack is not the only ones that hold them.” he said.
“Send her contact information over to us. I am sure she and Ember will become great friends.”, I told him, and he nodded. Mia and Ember walked up to us, laughing. Mia looked as if she was glowing as well and, somehow, I realized her scent was mixed with something different.
“Holy shit, Mia. How far along?” I asked her. Cole beamed with happiness and Mia smiled as well.
“Seven weeks today”, she said. I reached out and grabbed Coles’ arm.
“Shit, congrats man”. I told him. He nodded, smiling at Mia, who pulled Cole closer to him, ready to leave. I pulled Ember to me, and Damien came behind us as we waved them off.
“They are leaving already?” he asked, walking to the other side of Ember and inhaling her scent.
“Yea, is everyone else gone too?” I asked, looking around. He nodded. Seth and Carter are at Moonlight, and I have some business to attend to. Ember looked at him puzzled.
“Where are you off too?”, she asked.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”, he said, kissing her on the forehead before phasing away. Ember looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“What are you guys’ planning?”, she asked me, and I smiled. Seth, Carter, and Damien were planning something big for her and they did not tell me, just in case Ember tried to use her power to see what it was. Just as suspected, she touched my cheek and narrowed her eyes when she realized I didn’t know anything.
” I see you guys have found a loophole”, she said, smirking at me.
” Naturally. I wanted you for myself today anyway. I know the stress of the last few days has been eating at you, and though you don’t want to talk about it, I am here when you do”, I told her, pulling her close to me. We breathed in each other’s scents. I would never get enough of this, just as I could never get enough of her. She completed me.
Ember
I was lying against Jordan while we watched Hell’s Kitchen. He was not interested in it so much and would take moments to nip at my neck or blow in my ear. Things he knew would heat me up. My mind drifted to the events of three days ago, after we had all gotten back home. I attempted to sleep that night but couldn’t. Every time I fell asleep, I saw the death of one or more of my mates, and I woke up many times shouting and crying. The next night was a bit easier, but the dreams were still there. This time, dreams of my mother plagued me. Haunted me. I hated her. I hated her so much. She was a stain on the memory of my father, who did nothing but protect me even when I didn’t realize it. This was why when I phased right into her house last night as she slept, seeing the fear on her face as she realized who I am was worth it.
“Hello Mother”, I told her.
“Guards”, she yelled, but her guards would not help me. Her guards were possessed by demon entities, and I wiped all the men out of their possession, sending them back home to their families. Now, it was just me and her. Lifting my hand, I used my powers and blasted her across the room. She hit her head hard, and a trickle of blood fell. She tried to get up and ran towards me to fight me, but my scream was more powerful than ever. She was useless against me as she flew back against the wall.
“How fucking dare, you”, I said to her. She was silent. Not saying a word. How could she? I was the most powerful one in the room and she was suddenly recognizing that fact.
” You sided with War, of all things. Why?” I asked her.
” War was the love of my life. He promised me power. Power was the only thing I have ever cared for, but now I realized something else. I thought I did the decent thing when Lamonte convinced me to give you to your human parents. The only good deed I could ever do, so that War would stop looking for you and make me his queen. Now. I realize I should have killed you the moment you were born”, she said to me. Every word from her dipped in venom as her eyes narrowed at me.
“Giving me to my human parents was the best decision you could have ever made. They raised me to be the woman I am today.” I told her.
“Thank the goddess my love killed your father and ate your mother. What a beautiful sight it was, her body parts all over the place. She screamed your name for help while I laughed at her pathetic face. ” She taunted. Big mistake.
” This is for my parents, my mates, Ryder, Lamonte, and me, you fucking bitch”, I said, screaming at her. As I did, parts of her body started exploding one by one with her head exploding last. The room was covered in blood and guts, but I finally felt free. I had given justice to those I could not protect in the beginning. I phased home, seeing that Carter, Jordan, and Seth were still sleeping. Damien appeared behind me.
“You killed her,” he said to me. I was silent and just nodded. Overusing my powers made me sleepy. I was sticky in blood, but he didn’t seem to care as he pulled me to him.
“You did very well, love”, Damien said to me, hugging me. I started to silently sob, not wanting to wake up my other mates, and he held me. After I calmed down, he ran me a bath, washed me, and carried me to his own bed. He stroked my hair until I fell asleep.
