The Possessed

Seth
The smell of blood and the sounds of gunshots filled the air as we were fighting War and his demon army. Even with our combined power and fighting abilities, war was still able to keep up with all four of us in every direction. It was like he would know exactly just where one was coming for an attack and would move swiftly out of the way before we could strike. He was now the focus of the four of us as our pack and allies kept his army away from the five of us.
“Did you think I did not know you would come for her?”, he taunted, slapping Carter’s Lycan wolf. He smashed against a tree but was back on his feet in an instant.
” You will never have our mate,” Damien growled at him from behind as he struck, but War dodged his attack and kicked him, sending him crashing into the mansion of the packhouse. It was the ring. It had to be the ring. How else would he know where all of our moves were going to be? We had planned to leave Ember out of this fight. Just grab her and get her out, but Selene visited us the day we attempted to get Ember back, telling us it must be Ember who removed the ring. Only those with God’s blood or blessed with God’s blood would be able to snatch the ring off and destroy it. It is the only reason we have waited. We knew he would not kill her.
He needs her. Jordan, Carter and I came at him from opposite sides, but he jumped midair, flipping over us, landing on his feet. His sword almost seemed to be pulsing with a life of its own as it slashed at us. Had we only been normal alpha wolves, we would not have been fast enough to withstand every blow he gave. However, with our Lycan strength, not only could we withstand the blows, but we could also dodge them just as fast at most times. It was as if he was only more calculated at our moves when he attacked.
Ember’s screams blasted right through our mate-line as we all felt her power. She was fighting alongside Jax, Agatha, Cole, and Mia as they took on waves and waves of the hellspawn. It was as if they were being reincarnated the second, they died. We realized it was the power from War’s ring that was causing this. Kicking us all down again, War started circling us.
” You fight for a lost cause, boys. I have already tasted Ember’s Ichor blood. You are no match for me now”, he taunted us. We all attacked him at once, and he flipped over us, slicing me in the back as he did. The wound was painful, but I could feel my accelerated healing patching it up.
” Neither are you”, Jordan growled out. Suddenly, Ember appeared behind War, stabbing him through the neck with a sword she acquired. He turned around and slapped her hard as we advanced on him. She crash-landed onto some of the fighting warriors who saw what happened and used their bodies to soften the impact. She would have hit the bricked mansion and died. Feeling her pain through the link, our attacks grew stronger now, somehow. It was harder for War to keep up now, as the fighting progressed to being nonstop. He could not land any blows to us. He only had enough time to dodge as attacks on him came from all sides. We didn’t go for his ring. Our goal was to pin him down long enough for Ember to have a clear shot from his hand.
Jordan
Seeing War slap our mate across the pack land sent a hot wave of fury through all of us. It intensified as we felt Ember’s pain.
“I’m okay. Keep him busy”, she said, and we did. The blue moon had reached its highest peak and we could all feel it. War was no match for us all to fight back, so he could only deflect our attacks. Just as we were about to attack him again, we were grabbed by Jax, Mom, Dad, and Agatha, whose eyes we had seen had turned all black, as if they were all under a spell or even possessed. Damien fought Jax. I fought Mom. Carter fought Dad, and Agatha fought Seth.
“What the fuck?” I growled out. War backed away as we fought our family, finding ourselves on the defense end, so we would not injure them too badly. They were relentless in their attacks under war’s control. War disappeared, leaving a trail of red smoke behind him. He was running away. The blue moon started to fade, and with it, the strongest of our powers. That didn’t mean we were still not strong, just not as empowered as earlier. Ember appeared beside me, and I went to embrace her to get her out of here. She pulled back and looked up at me, and shoved a silver dagger into my chest, right through my heart. Her eyes turned from black, back to her blue ones as she looked in horror, realizing what she had done.
“NO”, she screamed, as I fell to the ground.
Damien
“NO”, Ember screamed, just as I had felt like a knife was in my chest, directly to my heart. Jordan! The demons we were fighting had all disappeared.
I pushed Jax away from me, morphing back into human form. I fell down to the ground as I saw the knife that had been buried in the heart of Jax. If I moved the knife, he would die on the spot.
“Ember. Possessed”, Jordan sputtered out, blood coming from his mouth. Seth and Carter had pushed Jessica and Ben with pack members holding them down. Their eyes were still black. I looked back up and Ember’s eyes were blue as she looked down at Jordan. Her body seemed to spasm and her eyes turned back to black.
” Finally, the ritual is complete”, she said in a raspy voice. Her aura was red. This was not Ember. War had managed to possess Ember’s body.
“Later boys”, she grinned at us before phasing away. The blue moon had finally left as the normal moon appeared back. Many of the pack members turned back into humans. Ben, Agatha, and Jessica had all returned to their normal state, no longer possessed.
“Jordan!”Jessica cried out, shoving the member off her that held her down. She ran over to him and kneeled with Ben following her. We all gathered around Jordan, as he was dying from his wound.
“DO SOMETHING!”, I growled at Agatha, but she put her head down. She knew the truth of what I refused to accept at that moment. Jordan was not going to survive this wound. He would die, and with it, half of my soul would too. He started sputtering more blood and he reached up and gripped my neck. He looked me in the eyes.
“Save….. Her…. Save… Ember”, He said in our family link, before he fell back to the ground, dead. Mom shook Jordan.
“No, no son. Son. Wake up. Wake UP! “, She begged while Ben tried to move her. Carter and Seth had tears forming as we felt Jordan break away from the family bond, and I clutched my heart. The moment Jordan died; I felt a snap inside of me. My vision clouded to black. War was going to pay for this. I looked up into the eyes of Seth and Carter, who felt my bloodlust.
“Damien, NO”! Seth shouted, but it was too late. I phased away, back to the packhouse. I was going to kill War, or die trying, and if this meant taking the life of my mate to achieve this, then so be it!
