Urijah’s eyes darkened as he asked, “What happened?”
He lifted his head, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. His sinister face was filled with a chilling cruelty that made people shiver.
The man shuddered. He knew Urijah’s temper was unpredictable. Following this young master required patience and flawless execution. Otherwise, if he lost his temper, he’d kill you first.
One moment he could be smiling and talking to you, and the next, he could take your life.
So, the fear of Urijah was deeply ingrained in his heart.
“The people we sent to capture her had an incident.”
“The woman’s daughter was taken away by someone, and all our men were killed.”
“Not a single one left!”
“Useless.” Urijah’s veins bulged on his face, and a cold, violent intent gathered in his eyes. “They couldn’t even handle such a small task.”
“They had almost succeeded, but then someone came to help Riya and took them out, causing the failure.”
“Who dares to ruin my plans?”
Urijah lifted his head, a murderous aura in his eyes. He had initially wanted to eliminate Riya, but two people had disrupted his plans. Now, someone else was interfering again. Did they think he was a pushover?
He harbored a burning anger.
He had been in Stresall for many years, with immense power, able to get anything he wanted. Never had he faced such setbacks.
So, upon hearing this news, an indescribable rage and frustration filled his heart.
The man continued, “These are photos taken by our people from a distance.”
“Mr. Edwards, please take a look.”
Urijah snatched the photos and saw the two figures in them. A surge of anger nearly exploded in his head.
“Damn it!!”
“Damn it!!”
“It’s those two again!”
“They’ve ruined my plans twice now. I want them dead, with no place to be buried!”
He roared, tearing the photos to pieces, his eyes bloodshot.
“Find them!”
“Find out who they are. I want to play with them slowly!”
“Yes!”
Seeing Urijah’s anger, the man dared not say more and nodded. “There’s one more thing to report.”
“Speak!” Urijah said coldly.
“Mr. Edwards, we’ve discovered something new. You might want to take a look. These are some new details about Riya.”
Urijah took the documents and was surprised. This woman had a brother? She hid it well.
“After the Shannons died, that item was in Riya’s possession. Her younger brother was sent to a boarding school.”
“The siblings have little contact privately, but Riya sends money to her brother’s account every month for his education.”
“Our investigation shows their relationship is quite good…”
“And Devon has a girlfriend who is very greedy for money. Devon is extremely devoted to her… I think we can use this as a breakthrough!”
He smiled sinisterly. “That item is the Shannon family heirloom, but if the Shannon family bloodline is cut off, what use is it to them?”
“So, controlling her brother is the key!”
“Isn’t she unafraid of death? Fine! We’ll strike at her brother and see how tough she remains!”
A cold smile appeared on Urijah’s lips. “Good, do as you said!”
“I don’t care about the process; you must get it done. Otherwise…”
Seeing the cold glint in Urijah’s eyes, the man shuddered and quickly nodded before retreating.
On the other side, Quentin and others bid farewell and left the hospital with Aubree.
Devon watched them leave before slowly asking, “Sis, are you sure we can trust them? Why do I feel they’re not trustworthy?”
“Are you really comfortable leaving Aubree with them?”
Riya replied calmly, “They saved me twice. I trust them.”
“Moreover, that man’s identity is not simple. He wouldn’t use such despicable means to threaten me. I trust them.”
“And Aubree will be much safer with them.”
“And you should be careful lately too. I’m afraid those people might target you.”
“Sis, who are these people targeting you?”
Riya sighed deeply and said, “You don’t need to know who they are. But they’re after our Shannon family. However, that item can never be given to them!”
