110. They had fallen asleep together after a lot of sexercise and it had been long since Macy was that tired.
She didn’t even notice Richard finish because he went at it like a starved stallion and she had decided to indulge him and after he was done, she felt a cold sensation as he cleaned her body with a wet towel.
She had then felt him get into bed next to her and raise her head and she had been lying on his chest.
They were startled by the ringing of his phone and Macy sat upright disoriented for a while.
What? Where? Oh, hey, your phone is ringing, she said as she laid back again.
Macy had been used to such situations when she was still working for Lion and when she was still in China.
She was a spy and a soldier in their underground army and she could thus get calls any time of the day or night calling her for a mission.
Old habits die hard so they say.
Richard groaned and picked the phone as he pulled her with his free hand and made her lie on his chest.
“Hello?”He looked at the caller ID with half lidded eyes since he was still sleepy and received the call when he realised that it was Cash.
All well?”He added.
More than well boss and sorry for waking you. Didn’t know you were asleep,”Cash said.
It was rare for him to catch Richard asleep and this was a first.
It’s okay. Ssup?”Richard asked.
We found him. The doctor. Angela talked,”Cash said with a smile that could be felt from the other side of the phone and Richard could feel the joy.
He was awake and alert as his heart increased it’s beats and Macy noticed.
“What’s wrong? Is all well?”She asked.
Richard had forgotten that Macy wasn’t his average woman and she was a soldier like him and their instincts were thus similar.
All is well. Go back to sleep,”he said forgetting for a while that Cash was on the line.
So, that’s why you are asleep at this time? Wow! You deserve it,”Cash teased and it was good that he couldn’t see the other man who turned as red and a ripe tomato.
“Shut up! Richard said in a voice that he intended to come out harsh but there was that blush in it and Cash decided to drop it because he knew that his boss was pretty and he could be punished for teasing him.
Cash remembered one time, before Richard disappeared for the five years, when he had teased him after a lady had hugged Richard and refused to let go.
They were in the airport waiting for their flight to Namibia where a criminal had run to and they were to neutralize him when this lady came out of nowhere and sat near Richard and pretended to sleep and laid her head on his shoulder.
When he tried to stand after their flight was called, she refused to let go calling him her husband.
It was a good thing he had connections but he had a first hand experience of how people were conned or even kidnapped in the eyes of others.
She was beautiful. You should have gone with her,”Cash had teased him as they boarded the flight that had been delayed for twenty minutes after calls were made and Richard didn’t say anything.
After they landed in Namibia and Cash turned on his phone, he was met by messaged all laughing at him.
Apparently, Richard had posted a video of Cash dancing while drunk in their whatsap group.
How Richard had laid his hands on the video was still a mystery to Cash because he could not even believe when that was.
Richard had embarrassed him exactly the way he was embarrassed at the airport but Cashs was worse because people had now his video.
Bring him to the headquarters but treat him well.
I want to hear his side of the story first before we decide what to do with him.
I am also sure that his wife doesn’t know that Maxwell is involved in child trafficking.
So, treat them well and I will come immediately I can, Richard ordered and hand up and snuggled with him woman again.
This was a night he didn’t want to end. He was happy. The whole of his body was tingly and jittery in a good was all over.
His heart was happy.
He was this happy lastly when Mel was born.
He held Macy securely in his embrace and closed his eyes.
He felt her even breathing and knew that she was already asleep and it didn’t take him long to drift off.
Richard woke up first and tilted his body a bit and moved with Macy in his embrace.
He smiled when he looked at the young sleeping face.
He couldn’t believe how lucky he had been.
After falling out with Cassy and doing everything he could to make her stay and she never did, he had given up on love.
His new mission in life was to bring up Mel and continue with his work.
He was done with dangerous missions though. After the last one that almost claimed his life and left him half criplled, he didn’t want to risk leaving Mel all alone.
He wanted to be there to see his girl. He wanted to attend every parents meeting at school and even walk her down the isle when the time came.
Macy was never a part of the equation. She was unplanned for.
She came in smoothly without making any ruckus and before he knew it, she had grown under his skin.
He now needed her the way he needed air to breathe.
Macy opened her eyes and looked at those eyes that had nudged her awake.
Richard smiled brightly at her and she blushed first thing in the morning.
She also couldn’t believe how lucky she had been to have to wake up to such a handsome face smiling down at her.
Good morning?”Richard greeted with a chuckle.
He was amused by how innocent she was. Macy was a picture of courage and strength to him. She was one of the strongest women who he knew and seeing her blushing like that was like a breeze of fresh air.
The picture he had of her in his mind was the Macy who would parachute with Mel on her front saving her from kidnappers. The Macy who would beat several men and make fun of them while doing so.
Good morning to you,”Macy answered, braving herself to look at him.
She still hadn’t gotten over the fact that he had smashed her for half the night until she could no longer remember her name.
She knew for a fact that she was still sore.
How are you feeling?”Richard asked her and she was confused.
Was she supposed to talk to him about what they did during the night?
Richard saw the discomfort on her face and smiled again.
Baby, it’s me. We are in this together and you can talk to me about anything. There should never be any awkwardness between us,”he said but her brain got stuck at the point where he called her baby.
I… errm… ahem… baby? She asked turning wanting to get out of his hold but he held tighter.
Their naked bodies were sprawled together and Richard wasn’t ready to lose that heat.
“You don’t like the endearment? I can call you anything you want,”he said and she smiled.
I love it. It’s just that… it was… unexpected and sweet, she said feeling jitters in her stomach.
She was happy.
“So, how are you? Do I need to get you any meds? He asked her again and she moved her legs to feel if she was okay.
“I’m going to be okay and I don’t think I need any meds.
Maybe more sleep, she said and he kissed the top of her head.
“Okay. Sleep more then. No one will disturb you here,”he said and that’s when it came back to her that she was in his office.
They were in his office.
Oh my God! We are in your office! What time is it? We have to go, she said and this time he let her go but he held her shoulders as he sat down and held her with her back to his chest.
“Hey, hey! It’s okay. It’s my office and what I say goes.
You are literally the boss now since you are my wife. So, calm down. All is well,”he said and again, he made her brain mushy by calling her his wife.
But… I don’t have any clothes to change into, she said and he smiled.
“Sorted. Rest and then I will take you somewhere when you are well rested,”he told her while he pushed her down on the bed again and she let him.
It was okay to indulge herself once in a while and since she felt as if she had been run over by a tow truck, she decided to rest her bones.
She smiled at him and closed her eyes.
He bent and kissed her forehead and then pulled the duvet to cover her well and that care made her drift off in a jiffy.
She was, after a very long time, happy.
