After Rosiley retaliated strongly, Rorey had stopped trying to cause trouble for Rosiley. Several days later, the negative comments online had gradually decreased, and only a few comments scattered online could be found.
Rosiley had gained a considerable amount of fame through this, and her fans urged her to make her debut in the entertainment industry.
Over the next couple of days, she received many calls from companies requesting her to be the face of their company. She even received calls from management companies that promised to do their best to make her a star.
Rosiley didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Yayoi said playfully, “Why aren’t you making full use of such a great opportunity to debut? You’re gorgeous, and you carry yourself well, so you’re perfectly suited to become a celebrity. You’d be able to stand head and shoulders above some female celebrities, so you should make full use of this opportunity!”
Rosiley shook her head firmly and said, “No. The entertainment industry is extremely complex. Although it’s tough to work as a reporter, I don’t have to constantly fret as though I’m walking on thin ice every day, and I get to enjoy having my privacy. Life as a celebrity sounds like torture.”
“That’s true. I don’t particularly enjoy that lifestyle either. However, Rorey might not feel the same way. I heard that she intends to make a comeback soon, and Yunis has also thrown his weight behind her to support her comeback,” Yayoi said. Then her eyes hardened, and she growled, “This scumbag and manipulative b*tch are still trying their best to ruin you. Let’s wait and see. I’m sure that she will continue to try to find ways to bully you after she has made her comeback.”
“What do I have to fear? I’ll continue to teach her a lesson until she finally learns it,” Rosiley said flippantly. She wasn’t afraid of Rorey.
Yayoi nodded and said, “That’s true. Then again, I’m afraid that she would resort to underhanded methods. She’s so vicious even when it comes to herself, so I’m sure she would not hesitate to resort to extreme measures.”
“Heh, you’ve underestimated her. Didn’t you realize that Lonny has been picking on me over the past few days? Do you think she would do this if Rorey hadn’t told her to do so?”
As if to prove Rosiley’s earlier point, it wasn’t long before Lonny strode up to her and said, “Rosiley, there’s a gathering of reporters later, but I’ve got a prior appointment, so please go on my behalf. I was invited by the up-and-coming director Lin Cheng, so don’t mess things up for me.”
Lonny didn’t wait for Rosiley to respond and strode out of the room haughtily after she had delivered her instructions.
“This woman is clearly up to no good. She’s pushing you into danger!” Yayoi growled, and she gritted her teeth as she glared at Lonny’s receding figure.
Rosiley frowned as well.
Lin Cheng was a director who was known for being lecherous. He wanted to sleep with every beautiful woman he saw and had slept with many starlets in the industry. His behavior was atrocious.
Lonny clearly wasn’t up to anything good if she was sending her to the gathering.
Rosiley had a bad feeling about it, and she sensed that something terrible was about to happen that night.
Yayoi was a little worried and said, “Rosiley, why don’t you turn Lonny down?”
Rosiley shook her head and said, “It’s fine. She’s my superior, so I’ll attend the gathering as she had requested.”
“No way. I’ve heard that Lonny and Lin Cheng are good friends, and I’m afraid she has already conspired with Lin Cheng to cause trouble for you. I’ll go with you tonight, so at least there’s someone to cover for you if things get ugly,” she said.
Yayoi sounded resolute, and Rosiley decided that it wasn’t a bad idea either.
She would feel more comfortable if she had a friend around, and at least if anything went wrong, she knew that her friend would help her out.
Rosiley and Yayoi followed Lonny’s directions and found themselves at a private club.
The gathering was held in a large private room within the club. After they entered the room, they saw that besides Lin Cheng and several reporters, several little-known stars and investors were also present.
Yayoi and Rosiley were a little taken aback at the large turnout.
They greeted the rest of the guests and quickly found a place to sit. They had just taken their seats when Lin Cheng looked over and said with a smile, “You must be the reporters from Times Entertainment. You should drink up as a penalty for being late.”
The rest of the guests immediately started urging them to drink three glasses of alcohol as a penalty for being late.
Rosiley’s brows creased into a small frown.
Her alcohol tolerance was very low, and they were drinking white spirit, so she knew that she would probably be drunk after three glasses.
Yayoi’s alcohol tolerance was slightly higher, so she said with a smile, “Mr. Lin, Rosiley has a low alcohol tolerance, so I’ll drink those three glasses on her behalf.”
“No way. Everyone else had downed their glasses of alcohol earlier as well. It’s just three glasses. I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Lin Cheng said.
He clearly didn’t intend to let Rosiley off the hook, and his eyes roved all over her body.
Rosiley had taken care to dress conservatively that night. She was dressed in a simple t-shirt with jeans, but her casual outfit didn’t conceal her great figure.
She felt a flash of anger as his eyes roved hungrily over her body.
“What a scumbag,” Yayoi said through gritted teeth.
