“In case you didn’t know, let me tell you that my brother’s cooking is definitely some of the best. I can guarantee that you’ll never be able to forget his cooking after you’ve tasted it. It’s so good that you would even eat your tongue.” Corey breathed deeply and took in the fragrant smell of Sachin’s cooking. He was practically salivating at the thought.
Sachin had lit the fire and poured the oil in the wok, and the fragrant scent of garlic filled the air. Rosiley couldn’t help taking a deep breath.
“Who taught him how to cook?” she asked curiously.
“He taught himself how to cook because he didn’t rely on anyone else to care for him when he went overseas to study. However, he hardly cooks for anyone else, and I’ve only had the opportunity to taste his cooking on one occasion, even though I’m his brother. I’m only able to enjoy his cooking today, thanks to you!”
“Tsk, you’re really making the most out of this,” Rosiley said as she rolled her eyes at him. Then, she stopped bickering with him and focused on the handsome man who was cooking in the kitchen.
He threw in the condiments and deftly tossed the ingredients into the wok. He moved confidently around the kitchen and didn’t look flustered at all.
He served up five dishes and one bowl of soup 30 minutes later. They were beautifully plated and gave off a fragrant scent that lingered in the air.
“… That’s amazing!” Rosiley marveled at his cooking in astonishment.
Sachin’s cooking skills were on par with hers.
“I told you so! Can I start eating now?” Corey sat on the other end of the table and held his chopsticks in one hand and his bowl in the other. He stared ravenously at the dishes on the table and couldn’t tear his eyes away from them.
Sachin glanced at him and said, “Get lost after you’ve eaten!”
“No problem.” Corey grinned and immediately started eating.
Rosiley couldn’t help laughing at his antics. She picked up her chopsticks and started to eat as well.
Sachin looked at her and asked, “What do you think?”
“Your cooking abilities make me feel ashamed of myself,” Rosiley said as she gave him a thumbs-up. She looked a little worried as she asked, “What should I do? I don’t think my cooking skills are sufficient to prove that I can make a good wife.”
“No worries. You’re a good wife as long as you remain by my side,” Sachin said tenderly.
Corey couldn’t help looking on enviously as he watched his brother say such sweet nothings to his bride.
As expected, men would change. He couldn’t believe that his brother had cooked and that such honeyed words could come from his lips… He had never been on the receiving end of such treatment, and he was his blood brother!
They ate ravenously and quickly polished off the food on the table. Corey ate so much that his stomach bulged and he looked like he was about to explode at any moment.
His actions tickled Rosiley, but Sachin quickly kicked his brother out of his home.
After Corey left, Sachin and Rosiley headed upstairs into the study. He worked while she began transcribing the interview she had conducted in the morning.
They worked in amicable silence as though they were an old married couple. They focused on their work and didn’t intrude on each other’s work. They worked comfortably in silence and enjoyed peaceful time.
Sachin wrapped up his work at around 10 p. m. Then, he walked up to Rosiley and sat beside her. He wrapped his arm naturally around her waist and asked, “How much longer do you have to work?”
Rosiley instinctively leaned into his embrace and said with a smile, “Just a little bit. Why don’t you head into the shower, I should be done soon.”
“I want to shower with you tonight.”
“Is… that supposed to be a joke?”
She turned to look at him, and a shy look crept into her eyes.
Sachin looked at that beautiful face and pressed a kiss on her lips. Then, he shook his head and said, “No, it isn’t! I wouldn’t touch you since I promised not to, but may I know when you’ll be ready?”
She found his deep husky voice in her ear surprisingly attractive.
The magnetic pull of his words sent a shiver down her spine. She felt numb all over, and she didn’t think that she’d be able to reject him.
However, she still looked apologetically at him and said, “I’m sorry, Sachin, for asking you to give in to my request, but I’m still not ready yet. You deserve the best, and I don’t feel worthy yet. Would you be able to give me some time to prepare myself mentally?”
“That’s all I needed to hear,” he said with a smile and a contented look spread across his eyes.
She let out a sigh of relief and decided to turn off her computer. She hastily rose to her feet and said, “Let me run a bath for you.”
As he stared at the figure that had darted away, Sachin paused for a moment, and his eyes darkened while his lips curved into a small smile.
Rosiley left the bathroom after she had run a bath for him.
He didn’t ask her to bathe with him because he couldn’t guarantee that he would remain in control of his senses each time.
She quickly wrapped up her work while he was in the bath.
Sachin emerged from the bathroom after she had returned to her room.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she looked at him in a daze.
He approached her with a smile and said, “Can I take the way you’re looking at me as an invitation for me to kiss you?”
His masculine scent mingling with the clean scent of soap pulled her out of her reverie. She tried to run away, but he moved even faster. He quickly wrapped around her waist and pulled her into his embrace. Then, he mashed his mouth on hers and drew her into a deep kiss.
She didn’t push him away and allowed him to deepen the kiss. Soon, she gave herself up completely to his kiss.
