Seeing the confused face of maids he looked at Elizabeth and Lee and said, “I am very thankful to you two for helping me to find Autumn”
“I will make sure to reward you” Edward was saying this all so that no one doubts what is going on here, before making it public he wants to know the reason for which Lee and Elizabeth are hiding themselves.
But with Edward’s words, Lee felt offended and was about to retort when Elizabeth pressed his hands and eyed him to sit quietly.
Because Elizabeth had understood Edward’s attention and she was on the same page with him on hiding their identity.
Listening to Edward all the maids understood why Edward was treating Lee and Elizabeth so nicely. All know how much Edward loves and how badly he was looking for Autumn and if someone helped him he will definitely treat that person nicely.
Three of them finished their dinner silently and headed towards their bedroom. After some time three of them met again in his study room.
Edward inquired, “I hope no one saw you coming”
They both nodded, Edward asked them to sit and bombarding his questions, “Now tell me why you two are hiding? From whom are you hiding? Was it always your plan to enter my house after you knew about Autumn? But Elizabeth has been working for us for so many years? Why are you hiding from Autumn?
Lee was in thoughts for a few moments, Elizabeth held his hands assuring him and encouraging him to tell everything to Edward.
Lee continued with a heavy heart, “I am hiding myself so that people who tried to kill us feels that we are dead and I can protect my daughter”
Edward frowned and asked, “But as per my investigation it was just a gang whom you had arrested were the people attacked you and your family and they were already caught and imprisoned for life time”
Lee scoffed and said, “It was all done by him, it was him he did to my family and tried to show it as if it was just a gang’s revenge, he planned everything very well”
Edward asked impatiently, “Who? What are you talking about? And if it was not a gang then who was it? And why would he do that? Who is he who have so much power to amend everything so easily and that too in police department”
As Edward was asking questions Lee felt like that incident was again playing in front of him, how his wife died in his own hands, how he tried his best to look for Autumn but his body was not supporting him because of the bullets.
All Lee could do was just mumble a word, a word which froze Edward “Demon”
Edward stood up abruptly growling, “What nonsense?”
Lee and Elizabeth were a little shocked seeing his weird reaction, understanding the situation Edward said trying to cover his odd reaction. “I mean……what kind of name is this?”
He again sat on the sofa and said, “But how did he know you? What he wants from you? Why would he do that to your family?”
Lee sighed helplessly and continued, “Even I don’t know who he is?”
“It was just after Autumn’s eighth birth, she was eight years and one month, we three were happy in our life, Autumn was the heart of the family, she was everything of us” Lee was unknowingly smiling talking about those days.
“Everything was fine, when one day a man appeared at our home with lots of gift and said that his boss wants to marry Autumn when she turns eighteen”
“We were startled, we thought they are in wrong house or looking for someone else but he was not ready to understand anything he said his boss can give us anything we want but we should agree that Autumn would marry him once she turns eighteen”
“We were mad the way he was talking, we always wanted our Autumn to marry someone whom she loves, we wanted her to have a happy life, we always believed that just because we brought a life to this world that doesn’t means we own that life and take decision on her behalf”
“She should make her own choices for her life, we would never force her to marry someone against her will”
“I literally dragged out that person out of my house, after that he didn’t came again so we thought that he is gone but after two weeks a man came to our house, he was wearing a mask so we cannot see his face”
“He came again with lots of gifts, he sat on the sofa leisurely and said, “I am here to assure for my bride’s safety, I want to make sure that she is having a good life till she turns eighteen”
“I thought he is some psychopath who is talking about a future marriage; I said angrily, my doll would never marry to a psychopath like you”
He scoffed and said, “Sorry but she is bound to be my bride and no one can stop me marrying her”
“He said he can give me power, money whatever I want but I denied everything, he left that day but after that day we received gift every day we never told about this to Autumn, we thought it’s not her age to take stress of these things”
“We were tired of all these, I got to know that he is very powerful because being a police officer I was not getting any help from my department, so my wife suggested that we should leave this place for our daughter safety”
“But before we could leave the city he got to know about it, I can never forget that horrible day, we were having our breakfast when I my eyes fell out of the window and I saw many black cars stopping at our place”
“I immediately asked Autumn to hide to our secret place, me and her had a secret place to in our basement when we use to play hide and seek”
“I told her not to come out till I ask her to, after making sure she was hiding properly I came back to the living room and the moment I entered the living room, he barged in, he was still wearing a mask”
