Mrs. Walker and Elizabeth’s words were continuously ringing in Autumn’s mind, “That many girls will try to snatch away Edward from her because he is the man a girl can get”
Although they are having some issues but he never disrespected or shouted at her, she cannot deny that many women will try to take her away from her and she will not let that happen and that too without fighting.
She will leave Edward the day he himself says that he doesn’t want her in his life, on that day she will not ask him a single question and leave him forever.
But Amaya’s next words broke her heart into million pieces, “So my dear REAL sister-in-law do you know I am two months pregnant with Edward’s baby”
Autumn stood there stoned, she didn’t know how to react, this news was too much for her to digest, seeing her not reacting Amaya understood that she was in shock she continued smirking.
“You know I got pregnant after our love making in London on last day of our business trip”
Autumn didn’t respond anything and Amaya continued, “You know he was so gentle as if worshiping my body, you know even though it was my first time he was mumbling that his REAL wife never satisfied him like I did”
“You know he didn’t let me sleep whole night, and now I am carrying his baby, Mom said that she will come to your place today to discuss about divorce, you know they cannot let King’s child called illegitimate so I must marry Edward before our first child’s birth”
“Mom already discussed everything with Edward and you know what he said, he said he can do anything for his baby, he can never abandon his baby”
Autumn didn’t speak a single word throughout, after Amaya finished smirking, she was waiting for Autumn to break down in tears but what happened next was against her imagination.
Autumn walked close to her and gave her a tight slap on her cheeks making her fall on the floor, she turned and walked away followed by Lee.
Autumn sat in the car and ordered Lee to drive the car but not to home, he kept on driving for almost two hours.
Autumn hasn’t spoken a single word after coming out of Edward’s office, she leaned back on the back seat closing her eyes.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by the continuous ringing of her phone, she saw the name on the display and she understood what Amaya had done after she left the office.
She answered the call and said politely, “Yes Mom tell me”
Mrs. King asked hesitating, “Autumn, dear where are you I am at your home”
Autumn replied plainly, “I am on the way and will be there in some time” saying that she hung up the call.
Autumn sighed heavily, she ordered Lee to drive back home, Lee was observing Autumn’s every movement carefully. He had unspoken emotions in his eyes.
In some time she reached home and when she entered the living room she found Mrs. King consoling Amaya.
Autumn walked towards the sofa and sat in front of Mrs. King asking coldly, “May I know the reason of your visit, Mom”
Mrs. King left Amaya and walked towards Autumn and sat next to her and said, “Autumn dear I know the things which are happening are not easy for you to deal with”
“I know what I am going to ask is too much but please try to understand the situation and agree to this arrangement”
Autumn was listening to her without uttering a word and Amaya was smirking thinking about what Mrs. King will say next will fulfill all her dreams.
Mrs. King continued, “Dear I am just requesting you, please let Amaya give birth to this child, I know you and Eddy loves each other too much, but dear I cannot let King’s first child die like this”
Autumn frowned thinking what Mrs. King was trying to say, “Dear I am just saying that me and your father will give our name to this child and after delivery we will send Amaya back to London and we will say that we adopted this child, in this way you both can live your life happily and we will not lose King’s first baby”
Autumn scoffed and said, “So you are saying that I should live my life with Edward seeing the baby growing in front of me which will remind me of my husband’s betrayal every moment”
Mrs. King kept her hand on Autumn’s shoulder and said, “Autumn you know Edward loves you the most in this world, it was just a mistake which they both committed for which we cannot punish an innocent life”
Autumn scoffed and said, “Mom, will you also accept the child if Dad cheated on you like this”
Mrs. King lost her temper and placed a tight slap on Autumn’s cheeks.
Autumn’s eyes got teary. She didn’t say anything, she just stood up from the sofa and walked out of the house followed by Lee.
On the other side, Amaya was fuming in anger. She thought Mrs. King will talk about their divorce but instead, she was planning to send her away.
On the other hand, when Edward came back from the meeting, the receptionist told him about Autumn’s visit, he was shocked and scared at the same time thinking she might have seen Amaya.
He immediately ran to his office and checked the CCTV footage and saw what happened. He couldn’t hear anything but he saw how Autumn slapped Amaya. That means Amaya must have told her about her pregnancy.
He rushed out of his office followed by Zack and headed back home, he was sweating badly and many thoughts were scaring him. How will he face Autumn now when she knows everything?
