The next morning when she woke up she was surprised to not get any reply from Edward on her calls and messages.
She felt weird, she saw Elizabeth coming towards her with a coffee in her hands smiling, and she said, “Good Morning dear”
Autumn felt low because of not speaking to Edward reading which Elizabeth said, “Go to study room someone is waiting for you”
Autumn frowned; she wanted to ask who it was but Elizabeth walked away, Autumn kept the coffee mug on the table and walked towards the study room.
She gently opened the door and saw Edward sitting on his chair and working, she ran and sat on his lap hugging him tightly, and said, “Oh God, Eddy, why you didn’t you called me back yesterday night”
She felt his body stiffened, and he was not hugging her as well. She looked in his eyes and felt like something was off he was not making eye contact with her, he simply said looking at his laptop, “I.. I was little busy”
It was weird the way he was behaving, she touched his forehead and asked, “Eddy, are you ok, you look different”
He pulled her hands off his hand and hugged her tightly, very tightly as if he would lose her if he loosened the hug.
Suddenly he left her and said in a different tone, “Actually I have work, you go to your college”
Autumn is never the kind of person who will cling to anyone not even Edward, she thought he might have work stress so she nodded and left.
Although she tried her best to divert her mind she was still thinking about Edward’s weird behavior.
She somehow finished college and went back home. Edward came later than usual, she was waiting for him. They both had dinner together but it was again an unusually silent dinner which never happened before.
After dinner they went to sleep and surprisingly Edward didn’t even hug her while sleeping, she somehow slept, when Edward felt her breathing getting soft he understood that she was asleep he hugged her and slept.
Things were getting weird between them. Edward was behaving weird. Sometimes he will behave as if he wants to have her in his life like oxygen and sometimes he will behave like she is invisible to him.
It’s been two months but nothing has changed. Edward’s behaviour changed a lot in the two months after that business trip. Autumn also started feeling low all the time, she doesn’t feel like eating, she just feels like sleeping all day.
Once she was sitting in her college canteen when she heard some college girls consoling their one friend saying, “We told you earlier also, poor girls are just plaything for rich boys, they just want to satisfy their lust and move on, they never believe in spending life with poor girls but you thought he loves you, now she he left you”
Those words kept on ringing in Autumn’s mind; she felt Edward was also tired of her, he was done having fun with her body because in these two months he never touched her, not even a forehead kiss.
He would never talk to her making eye contact. He would come just before dinner and sleep immediately after dinner saying he is tired.
She doesn’t understand what to do and on top of that her health is giving her a lot of problems. She thought that she will get a normal body check-up after college today.
After finishing college she went to a hospital and did some tests as per the doctor’s suggestions, the doctor asked her to wait to get the reports.
After some time the lady doctor called out Autumn’s name and asked her to follow her to her office, after sitting on the chair, the doctor said smiling, “Miss Autumn you are two months pregnant”
Autumn didn’t give her name as Mrs. King because she didn’t want to get into the limelight. Listening to the doctor she didn’t know whether she should be happy or sad because of Edward’s behavior.
She smiled at the doctor and thanked her and left the hospital. She sat in her car and asked Lee to take her to Edward’s office.
She decided that she will talk to him clearly because she cannot keep such big news to herself. She thought maybe this baby might change something in their relationship.
Everyone knows Autumn so no one stopped her and she headed to Edward’s office, she asked Lee to wait for her out of Edward’s office and she entered the office without knocking.
She was surprised to see Amaya in Edward’s office and he was not there. Amaya was lying on the couch as if resting.
Autumn frowned and asked in a stern tone, “May I know what you are doing here?”
Amaya opened her eyes and said politely, “Oh! Autumn, I was just resting, you know in these days we must rest more”
Autumn neglected her reply and asked again, “Why are you here?”
Amaya said smirking, “Don’t you know I work here”
This was a little shocking news for Autumn, she said with a straight face, “I am not here to listen to your nonsense, tell me why are you here? And why are you resting in Edward’s office? And what do you mean by these days?”
Amaya smirked and replied slowly walking towards Autumn, “Autumn, my so- called sister in law, don’t tell me Edward didn’t tell you that I am working with him from last two months”
Autumn was a little startled hearing that she still stood strong because she trusts Edward, and if he didn’t tell her then he must have his reasons.
She replied to Amaya, “So dear Amaya, I am not your so-called sister-in-law I am your real sister in law, who married your BROTHER in front of whole world”
She emphasized more on the word brother to show Amaya’s place to her.
