Chapter 77: Why Did You Face It Alone?

“Gabriel was married to the amazing actress Sophia, and still he wasn’t satisfied? Did he hurt her just for fun? Rich people these days think they can do whatever they want.”
“Gabriel is terrible! He’s a jerk. I hate him!”
“Sophia, you need to divorce him quickly. If this domestic abuser who hurts you at home doesn’t get punished, we’ll go to the police station and demand justice for you.”
“Sophia, don’t worry. We’re here for you.”
Sitting on a soft wool carpet in her bedroom, Sophia held the phone Bianca gave her before leaving, trembling in anticipation.
Just then, Sophia’s phone rang. It was Bianca.
“Sophia, have you seen the news? The police are on their way. You need to tell them everything Gabriel did. Call me when it’s done. And don’t go back to that house.”
“Okay, I will,” Sophia whispered after hanging up. She was still in shock. She never thought she’d have a chance at a normal life again.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Sophia’s daughter, Elaine Lee, walked in.
Approaching her mom, Elaine gently wiped away Sophia’s tears. “Mom, why are you crying? Did Dad hurt you again?”
Sophia hugged Elaine tightly, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Elaine, we’re safe now. We’ll never be hurt again.”
Finally, Gabriel was taken away in a police car, and the reporters left bit by bit.
Standing at the hotel door, Dave looked at Bianca next to him. Her hair swayed in the breeze, and she had a determined look on her face.
“Gabriel’s PR team must be freaking out. Are you worried about how they’ll handle this?” Dave quipped lightly.
With a calm smile, Bianca responded, “You’re underestimating Sophia’s power. She was a famous international star with fans all over the country. I did some research, and even though she hasn’t been in the spotlight for five years, her fans never stopped supporting her. They’ve been waiting for her comeback. Once this gets out, her fans will take care of the rest. No matter how good Gabriel’s PR team is, they can’t beat the public’s opinion. The public will judge Gabriel.”
Dave nodded, his affection for Bianca clear on his face. He knew she wouldn’t let him down.
Bianca’s intelligence and charm were unlike any other woman he’d met. At first, he was cautious around her, wanting to understand why she wanted to be close to him.
He used to think she might have hidden motives, but he couldn’t resist her charm and occasional playfulness.
Sometimes, she seemed untamed and feisty, like a lively kitten.
However, when it came to love, she seemed unsure and shy. Even after that night, she still seemed innocent and beautiful.
Now, after putting aside his doubts and finding out the truth, his suppressed feelings of love burst out like a volcano.
Dave couldn’t take his eyes off Bianca, filled with love and desire. No matter what she thought about what happened that day or Gabriel’s capabilities, having her was the most important thing to him.
With him beside her, she had the freedom to chase after anything she wanted.
But…
Dave took Bianca’s shoulders, making her face him. “Do you know how dangerous today was? Why did you face it alone? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Looking into Dave’s eyes, Bianca bit her lip before speaking, “He’s a big deal, running a huge company. I didn’t want you to get involved.”
Dave chuckled softly and gently tapped her nose. With a smirk, he whispered in a deep, captivating voice, “Remember what you said? I’m here for you. Next time something happens, tell me. I’ll support you, okay? Don’t take risks alone.”
Bianca blushed.
She had only wanted to help Sophia escape from Gabriel. The thought of what could have happened scared her.
Facing those dangers alone felt overwhelming.
Feeling Dave’s care made Bianca feel comforted. She looked at him, her eyes sparkling, and nodded. “Got it. I’ll listen to you.”
Seeing her agree so easily, Dave affectionately tousled her hair. “Let’s go home,” he said gently.
Her smile grew wide and hopeful.
“Sure.”
As soon as they got home, Bianca closed the door when Dave’s hands landed on her shoulders, pushing her gently against it. He leaned in close, his warmth enveloping her.
His breath brushed against her ear.
“Now that we’re back, we can continue where we left off.”
Her ears turned red. She hadn’t expected him to bring up their interrupted moment in the hotel bathroom.
“W-what do you mean?” Bianca looked away, pretending not to understand.
Dave narrowed his eyes, gently lifted her chin, and whispered, “What do you want?”
“I… I’m not sure,” she stuttered, her eyes wide and cheeks turning red.
Dave took his time, his gaze moving slowly from Bianca’s eyes to her nose, and then to her blushing lips.
They looked soft and tempting, like ripe fruit.
“You’re being coy, aren’t you? Do you need a reminder of what you said? You told me I could have anything I want…” He teased her, his voice smooth and enticing.
Flustered, Bianca reached out to stop him, her cheeks burning even more.
With a small grin, Dave gently held her wrist and leaned closer, whispering, “You know what I want.”
He was crafty, waiting for her to take the lead.
“So…” Bianca met his gaze, her eyes uncertain yet determined. “Let’s make a deal first. Just for a moment.”
His smirk softened into a pleased smile, and he nodded in agreement.
Taking a deep breath, Bianca stood on her tiptoes, her eyes closed and lashes fluttering, and softly kissed his waiting lips.
Feeling her delicate touch, Dave was filled with longing. He held her neck firmly, pulling her closer, leaving no space for hesitation.
Bianca gripped his shirt tightly, gasping for air under his intense gaze.
With a swift motion, Dave cleared the table by the door, letting objects fall to the carpet. Then, effortlessly lifting her, he placed her on the table.
Wrapped in Dave’s passionate kisses and the scent of his cologne, Bianca leaned back, trying to respond, her hands weakly pushing against his chest.
Their embrace was overwhelming, making it hard for Bianca to catch her breath. “Mr. Evans… Please… Stop!”
Dave paused, giving her a moment to breathe. He gently brushed her nose with his, his breathing heavy. In a daze, he kissed her again.
“No,” he whispered before kissing her passionately once more.
Bianca’s body relaxed in his arms. Her resistance faded as she leaned into him, her hand tracing his back, returning his kiss with quiet surrender.
Finally, Dave let her go, his contentment clear as he buried his face in her hair, his breaths becoming deeper.
