When Rosiley stepped into the office the next day, the shock from the drama the night before had yet to wear off. Many of her colleagues stiffened when they saw her, and they looked at her strangely and with a complicated look in their eyes.
Rosiley had already gotten used to this treatment from her colleagues, so she ignored them and made a beeline for her desk.
Yayoi sidled up to her and said huffily, “Rosiley, I’m surprised that you managed to find your way back to the office. Here I was thinking that you were so upset that you were going to commit suicide.”
Rosiley laughed in spite of herself and said, “Do I look like someone who would take my own life lightly?”
“No, but it was wrong of you to disappear like that. Do you know how worried I was last night?” Yayoi said.
Yayoi had searched for her all morning but Rosiley’s phone had been switched off. She had only relaxed after the recording was made public.
“I’m sorry. I’ll definitely notify you in advance before I pull off another disappearing act,” she said with a playful smile.

“Did you not have enough fun yesterday? I feel like I’ve wasted my time worrying about you,” Yayoi said drily with a smile as she rolled her eyes. She suddenly started coughing violently.

“What’s wrong? Do you feel sick?” Rosiley said as she went pale. She took a closer look and realized that her friend’s face was unnaturally flushed.

Yayoi looked exhausted as she said, “I have a slight fever.”
“Have you taken some medication for it? Why don’t you take the day off and head home to rest?” Rosiley said with a frown and she placed her hand over her friend’s forehead in concern.

Yayoi was indeed running a fever but it wasn’t serious.
“I’ve already taken my medication but I won’t be taking the day off. I’m still scheduled to conduct an interview in the afternoon,” she said as she brushed off Rosiley’s concern with a wave of her hand.

Rosiley relaxed slightly and said, “You must tell me if you aren’t feeling well.”
“Of course.”
Yayoi returned to her desk after she finished speaking to her friend.
Rosiley went over to Yayoi’s desk to invite her out for lunch, and that was when she discovered Yayoi with her head down on her desk. Her face was unnaturally flushed and she looked very weak.
Rosiley rushed over, placed a hand on her friend’s forehead, and exclaimed in shock, “You’re running a high fever!”
“Don’t worry. I’m still able to work,” Yayoi said hoarsely as she forced herself to sit back up.

“Why are you still trying to work when you’re running such a high fever? I’ll apply for sick leave on your behalf and help you conduct the interview that you’re scheduled to do later,” Rosiley said exasperatedly and headed to the management office.

Yayoi quickly pulled her back and said, “Don’t do it, Rosiley. I’m supposed to interview Ariella Ning this afternoon, and I’m afraid that she might try to humiliate you after that spectacle with Yunis.”
“Ariella?” Rosiley was visibly surprised when she heard that name, and her beautiful eyebrows creased into a slight frown. A flash of irritation crossed her eyes.

Ariella was the most popular starlet in China at the moment, who had acted in many movies and television dramas. She was beautiful and conducted herself well. She was one of the rare natural beauties in an industry that was populated by starlets who had gotten some work done on their faces.
Ariella was purportedly very easy to work with and down to earth, but Rosiley knew that it was all an act.
Ariella had been her rival-in-love during her university days. She had always harbored designs on Yunis and plotted against Rosiley on many occasions. She was a narrow-minded woman who was not as innocent as she seemed.
Ariella couldn’t stand Rosiley because of how Yunis was so devoted to Rosiley that he had never spared her a glance.
Now that she had been dumped by Yunis in such a humiliating manner, Ariella was sure to gloat over her misery if they were to meet.
Rosiley hesitated for a brief moment.
She’d rather not cross paths with Ariella, but she couldn’t bring herself to say no when she saw how ill Yayoi was.
Yayoi had been the first to stand up for her when she had been in trouble, so how could she not help out her friend when she was in need due to such a frivolous reason?
She smiled and said comfortingly, “Don’t worry, just focus on getting better. If she wants to humiliate me, then so be it. Why would I be afraid of her? Moreover, I’m no longer someone that she can push around. She’d have to get past me first if she wants to take advantage of me.”
“But…”
“It’s settled then. Wait for me here. I’ll head inside, sort out your medical leave, and take you to the hospital in a bit.” Rosiley didn’t even wait for her response before she turned and headed straight to the management office.

She brought Yayoi to the hospital after she helped her friend submit her medical leave application. Then, she watched over her friend as she ate and only left after her friend had fallen asleep.
Rosiley arrived at Ariella’s management company promptly at 3 p. m. She was led into the room that had been booked in advance and started to prepare for the interview.
Ariella wasn’t present, but her assistant came before her to inform Rosiley, “Miss Ning has a very packed schedule, so you only have one hour for the interview. We’ve already sent a list of questions that you’re not allowed to ask, so later on, please try to wrap up the interview quickly.”
Ariella’s assistant seemed very haughty and spoke in a condescending manner.
Rosiley frowned but she didn’t express her displeasure.
Ariella was one of the most popular starlets domestically and was worshipped by many fans, so it was no surprise that her employee was acting haughtily now that the starlet she worked for had risen to fame.
Rosiley had already gotten used to dealing with such people after being in the industry for two years.
She quickly arranged her script and waited on the sofa for Ariella.
Ariella finally appeared 10 minutes later, surrounded by a large crowd.
