“Anyone who opposes Ecclesia and has taught those detestable knights a lesson is our honored guest,” Duke Gawain explained with a smile.
This reason left Leo speechless, revealing the deep-seated hatred between the vampires and Ecclesia.
Since he was an honored guest, Leo smiled and made his request, “Dukes, could you please send me to France?”
“To France?” The dukes exchanged glances and shook their heads.
Upon seeing this, Leo’s heart sank, and his smile gradually faded.
“Mr. Bloomer, could you tell us what you stole, oh no, took from Westminster Abbey?” Duke Deane asked with great interest.
Leo thought for a moment. Christian relics were not only useless to vampires but could also harm them. So, he spoke frankly, “The Holy Scarab and the Holy Nail!”
“My God!” Duke Joseph exclaimed, his eyes filled with disbelief, giving Leo a thumbs-up.
Duke Gawain couldn’t help but praise him, “Having both of Ecclesia’s sacred relics in your possession is excellent. This is undoubtedly a huge blow to them. Cedric must be panicking now, haha.”
“Since you have the Holy Scarab and the Holy Nail, we can’t let you leave England,” Duke Deane said with a smile.
“Why?” Leo was confused.
Duke Deane smiled mysteriously, “If you leave, it won’t be fun anymore. I just want to see Cedric jump in frustration when he can’t find you.”
“But… I have business in France.”
Duke Deane waved his hand, his smile fading, “You are our most esteemed guest and should stay here for a few more days. How about this: stay here for three days, and I guarantee your safety. After three days, I’ll arrange for you to go to France. How does that sound?”
Leo weighed his options. The strength of these three dukes was formidable. If he fought them alone, even if he won, he would pay a price or get injured. It wasn’t worth it.
After some thought, Leo decided to agree for now and look for an opportunity to slip away later. These guys couldn’t watch him 24/7.
Leo nodded with a helpless expression and replied, “Since the dukes are so hospitable, I won’t refuse.”
Duke Deane smiled again, stood up, and invited him, “Honored guest, we have prepared a sumptuous breakfast for you. Please come and dine.”
Leo smiled bitterly inside; it felt like a sheep entering a wolf’s den.
Meanwhile, Westminster Abbey was far from peaceful.
Cedric stood straight in front of the Stations of the Cross. Before him, nine knights stood in a line like soldiers awaiting inspection.
However, none of them looked proud; instead, they all appeared gloomy.
Berger stepped forward with a grim expression, “Mr. Cedric, we were a step too late. That Atraria man escaped.”
“He is indeed formidable. We’ve alerted him,” Cedric said thoughtfully, looking up at the stained glass ceiling of the hall.
Bill was anxious, “Mr. Cedric, it will be troublesome if he leaves England.”
Cedric shook his head, “No, with the power of the Holy Grail, I can sense him. He is still in London. Berger, did you gather what I asked for?”
Berger nodded and handed Cedric a tablet respectfully, “Mr. Cedric, this is the surveillance footage from the Szott Hotel lobby over the past two days. I’ve extracted the parts where that Atraria man appears.”
Cedric took the tablet and watched carefully.
Soon, he paused the footage at the moment when Leo and Tassick exited the hotel lobby.
“Vampires?” Cedric mused, “No wonder an Atraria man dared to cause trouble at Westminster Abbey; he has vampire support!”
Hearing this, Charles’s eyes filled with hatred, “Those damned dark creatures are truly persistent. We must make them disappear from the world of light!”
The knights beside Charles nodded in agreement. They understood why Charles hated vampires so much-his parents had been drained of blood by vampires.
“Berger, did you bring anything used by that Atraria man?” Cedric asked again.
Berger nodded and took out a sealed bag from a black leather briefcase on the ground. Inside was a towel.
“Cut off a piece of the towel for me.”
Berger complied.
Cedric then took out the Holy Grail and a cup of holy water from the altar at the Stations of the Cross. He poured the holy water into the Holy Grail.
Cedric took the piece of towel from Berger and placed it in the Holy Grail.
The knights watched curiously, waiting for the omnipotent Mr. Cedric to reveal the location of that detestable Atraria man.
“Almighty Lord, please hear your devout follower’s prayer and show him the direction of his enemy. Amen…” Cedric prayed solemnly. The holy water in the cup began to glow like crystal.
The piece of towel quickly dissolved in the holy water and soon disappeared completely.
Cedric held the Holy Grail and slowly poured out the holy water.
The holy water didn’t splash like regular water but spread slowly on the ground like oil.
When all the holy water was poured out, it formed a pattern on the ground-a pattern of an ancient castle.
One of the knights immediately recognized it and exclaimed, “I know this castle! It’s Vitre Castle in the western suburbs of London!”
Cedric nodded and put away the Holy Grail. His authoritative gaze swept over the nine knights as he declared loudly, “Glorious knights, now that the Lord has shown us our enemy’s location, what must we do next?”
“Retrieve our lost honor!” The nine knights replied loudly with pride.
At that moment, Cedric exuded a kingly aura.
Cedric hadn’t fought in a long time. Comfort hadn’t dulled his ambition. Today, he would show those lowly vampires what it meant to provoke Ecclesia!
In London, vampires could only survive in darkness!
An hour later, a stretched Jaguar car drove out of Westminster Abbey.
