Then, she walked up to Stacey and looked at her coldly. “This isn’t the place to cause a scene. If you keep it up, I’ll ask the security personnel to escort you out! Or do you want me to call the police?”
When Stacey heard Bianca mention the police, she knew it was time to leave. Although she didn’t get the money, she managed to make Peter even more disappointed in Bianca. Moreover, she damaged Bianca’s reputation at work. So, the visit wasn’t a waste after all.
Stacey felt satisfied. She got up, wiped away her tears, and went to help Peter, who was breathing heavily.
Pretending to be restless, Stacey uttered seriously. “Bianca, we had no choice but to talk to you. We didn’t mean to embarrass you. Please don’t call the security personnel or the police. We’ll leave on our own.”
As the crowd watched Stacey leave with that silver-haired man, their dislike for Bianca grew even more.
The two coworkers who got criticized by Bianca found out about her parents’ visit. They exaggerated the story and told everyone at the company.
Later that day, Zoey called Bianca into her office.
“Bianca, what’s going on? Just a few days after your promotion, people started complaining about you! I heard your parents came to the company today and caused a big scene during lunch. Now everyone’s talking, saying you didn’t get the job fairly and that you have a messy personal life. They want the company to demote you!”
Bianca tried hard not to cry and held back her frustration. She looked down and apologized to Zoey, “I’m really sorry for causing trouble.”
Zoey glanced at her and sighed softly. “I can help calm things down for now, but you need to show your skills at work. I have a suggestion for you. Director Vincent Lopez is casting actors for his next movie, and our company wants to be part of it. If you can get our artists starring roles in this film, everyone will be really impressed with you!”
“Do you want me to get our artists in his new movie?”
“Yes,” Zoey said firmly.
Bianca was shocked. Vincent was known for being picky with casting. The actors he chose for his movies always became big stars, and only a few of Phoenix Entertainment’s artists got that chance. Most of them were already award-winning actors before they joined Vincent’s movies.
But there was one exception: Natalie King, a famous actress who had won Best Actress three times.
When she started her career, she was unknown. Vincent saw her talent and asked her to be in his latest movie. After the movie came out, she won three awards. Suddenly, she became the most popular actress in the country.
When Natalie became a big star, she changed agents and started working with Zoey.
Some people might say that Zoey had a strong hold on most of the company’s top celebrities.
Bianca, as a new agent, only got the less popular artists from Olivia. It seemed almost impossible to get them a lead role in Vincent’s movie.
Zoey gave Bianca’s shoulder a comforting pat. “I know it’s tough, but you have to tackle the impossible to prove yourself. That’s the only way to change people’s minds and show the company made the right choice with you. The public is angry now, and I can’t protect you forever. The company has never demoted someone during their probation. Let’s hope you won’t be the first.”
Bianca felt she had no choice but to accept the challenge, so she nodded. “Okay, I’ll try.”
After Bianca left, a sly smile appeared on Zoey’s face.
Bianca quickly impressed Justin and earned a promotion. It was obvious she would be a strong competitor for Zoey in the future. So, Zoey gathered her loyal team to spread gossip about Bianca in the company and dared her to take on this almost impossible task.
If Bianca couldn’t get any movie roles, Zoey would have a reason to fire her.
As the evening approached, Bianca left the office feeling burdened, wondering how to tackle this tough mission.
When Bianca got home, Dave wasn’t there. He had been absent for days.
Feeling lost and drained from the day, Bianca’s mood sank.
She flopped onto her bed, scrolling through her phone absentmindedly.
Just then, her best friend Diana called her.
When Bianca picked up, Diana’s voice came through, teasingly saying, “Bianca, what’s been up with you lately? Why don’t you come out and hang out with me? Have you forgotten about me?”
Feeling overwhelmed, Bianca replied, “I’ve been really busy with work. I haven’t had time…”
Diana chuckled and interrupted her, “Is it really just work? Or have you secretly found yourself a boyfriend?”
Dave popped into Bianca’s mind, but she quickly denied, “No, I don’t have a boyfriend!”
“Well, since you’re free, why not come out with me tonight? I’ll be at Champs Le Bar. If you don’t show up, I might get a little mad!”
With that, Diana ended the call before Bianca could refuse.
It had been a while since Bianca had seen Diana, and she missed her. Plus, she was feeling pretty down today and wanted a drink.
So Bianca changed her clothes and headed over to meet Diana.
Champs Le Bar was the fanciest bar in town.
It was popular among rich and powerful people.
Once in a while, one might get lucky and bump into some big-shot celebrities around here.
When Bianca walked in, she was amazed by the luxurious sight. The decorations were stunning, like stepping into a dream, with sparkling lights everywhere.
This was Bianca’s first time in such a fancy place. She was grateful for her wealthy friend Diana, who often invited her to these kinds of places.
As usual, Diana had booked a private room upstairs.
Bianca pushed open the heavy, golden door of the private room, only to find Diana sitting between two handsome men, chatting and drinking. Bianca was speechless. It seemed Diana was her usual self, so there were no surprises there.
“Careful, you might get too used to this kind of fun,” Bianca joked as she walked over to Diana.
Without any surprise, Diana nudged the men aside and hugged her best friend.
Before Diana could say anything, Bianca spoke up, “If you try to get me to drink with someone again, I’ll leave right away.”
“Aw, come on!”
Diana waved her hand at the two handsome men, signaling them to leave the room.
Then she grabbed Bianca’s arm and pulled her onto the sofa. “You’re overthinking it. I was so bored waiting for you that I invited these two to keep me company.”
