“Yes.” A figure behind the young man bowed slightly, then turned and left.
“Everly, come here!”
The young man spat out the words violently. Everly, with her charming demeanor, approached him. Urijah Edwards grinned wickedly, patting Everly’s face. “You are obedient. Tell me, what use do I have for those disobedient dogs?”
A murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
Everly shivered. As one of Urijah’s close confidants, she knew that Riya’s car accident was no accident.
Now, Urijah’s plan had been disrupted, and naturally, he was displeased.
Those two meddling individuals were in trouble. After all, Urijah was a ruthless monster…
Springfield Hospital.
Quentin hurried into the hospital carrying Riya.
The dean, who had been notified in advance, was already waiting. Seeing Quentin, he moved to greet him but was stopped by Quentin.
“Where is the prepared room?” Quentin asked directly.
“This way, Mr. Holland-”
Quentin and his companion followed the dean to a high-end ward.
Several doctors rushed in to examine Riya, who lay on the bed. They gave her a blood transfusion and an IV drip.
The treatment was excellent.
“Mr. Holland, who is this lady to you?” the dean asked.
“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t,” Quentin replied with a glance.
The dean quickly shut his mouth.
Charlotte looked anxious. “She’ll be okay, right?”
If something happened to Riya, would they be held responsible?
“No major issues. She’s out of immediate danger, just fainted from blood loss.”
“After the transfusion, she should wake up. Since she’s your friend, we’ll do our best to take care of her,” the dean assured them.
“Good,” Quentin nodded. “We’ll leave now.”
Charlotte protested, “Wait, she’s not even awake yet. Why leave so quickly? I’ll stay and take care of her.”
With so many doctors around, did they really need to stay?
But Quentin couldn’t argue against Charlotte’s good intentions.
“Alright, I’ll stay with you.”
They entered the ward. Riya’s face had been cleaned of blood, revealing her original features. The more Charlotte looked, the more familiar she seemed.
“I remember now. She’s Janessa and Theo’s classmate’s mother. She was at the parent-teacher meeting that day!”
Charlotte said, “I remember she was very nice. She even spoke up for our child. What a coincidence!”
Quentin nodded.
Half an hour later, Riya slowly opened her eyes…
Seeing Quentin and Charlotte, Riya’s face showed gratitude.
“Thank you for saving me…”
“You two are…?” Riya looked at Quentin with a hint of surprise before changing her tone. “You must be my child’s classmate’s parents?”
Riya knew Quentin’s identity couldn’t be revealed.
Charlotte replied, “Yes, Madam, do you remember us?”
Riya smiled. How could she forget Quentin’s impressive display at Sloburg Kindergarten? It was unforgettable!
