Leo’s mouth dropped open in astonishment. These two must either be going berserk or have lost their minds!
Bill, with an air of cold arrogance, said, “For the honor of the knights, we would rather die than let you take a single step out of here!”
“In that case, we have no choice but to settle this once and for all. Knights, show me your best.”
As Leo spoke, his Spiritual Power surged rapidly within him, emanating a powerful wave of energy that pressed down on Berger and Bill like intense heat radiation.
A fierce and terrifying aura erupted from Leo. Feeling this aura, Berger and Bill’s resolute faces changed color; it had been a long time since they had felt such a powerful presence.
Despite their surprise at Leo’s strength, neither showed any fear. Instead, their faces displayed a firm resolve, ready to face death if necessary.
Both Berger and Bill raised their right hands high. Their Cross Swords, which had fallen somewhere earlier, automatically returned to their hands.
The blades of the Cross Swords were covered in a holy white glow, resembling lightsabers from Star Wars.
Holding the Bible in their left hands and raising the Cross Swords with their right, Berger and Bill began to chant in unison: “Before a formidable enemy, we stand fearless, brave and loyal, worthy of God, honest and unyielding, protecting the weak, abiding by divine law!”
“I vow to treat the weak kindly. I vow to bravely confront violence. I vow to fight against all wrongs. I vow to fight for the defenseless. I vow to help anyone who seeks my aid.”
“I vow not to harm any woman. I vow to assist my fellow knights. I vow to be sincere to my friends. I vow to remain faithful to my love until death!”
After this lengthy knightly declaration, the Cross Swords in Berger and Bill’s hands transformed into two beams of light.
The beams shot into the night sky from their hands, crossing each other to form a glowing cross.
A sacred force as mighty as a mountain pressed down on Leo. The cross’s light illuminated the surroundings brightly, especially where Leo stood, as if lit by thousands of watts of light.
Knowing that Berger and Bill were unleashing their ultimate move, Leo dared not underestimate them. He extended his right hand and summoned the Divine Dragon Sword.
As Leo channeled his Spiritual Power into it, the Divine Dragon Sword emitted a golden glow.
The gold and white lights intertwined, dazzling and blinding.
“Holy Cross Light, Divine Punishment!” Berger’s voice seemed to come from the night sky above, carrying a 3D sound effect.
The white cross dove directly toward Leo, leaving a long tail in the night sky.
Leo was unafraid. He raised the Divine Dragon Sword with both hands and, when the white cross was just a meter above his head, he roared and struck with all his strength and Spiritual Power.
Gold clashed with white in a massive and terrifying explosion, like water poured into a boiling oil pot. Leo’s figure was engulfed in the white and gold light.
The shockwave cut through the grass on the ground like a blade, reducing it to dust in the intertwining golden and white flames.
The golden-white shockwave quickly engulfed Berger and Bill. They clung tightly to their Bibles with no fear on their faces, only pride.
Time seemed to stand still; it felt like an eternity had passed or perhaps just an instant.
When the golden-white light finally dissipated, only one person remained standing. He leaned on his sword with one hand and clutched his chest with the other, breathing heavily.
On the other side, Berger and Bill lay on the ground.
Their Cross Swords were stuck in the ground at an angle, their once-beautiful blades now cracked and rusty, looking like scrap metal.
After catching his breath, Leo regained his strength. He sheathed the Divine Dragon Sword and looked at Berger and Bill lying motionless on the ground. He smiled and said, “Honorable knights, I told you not to fight; it’s your own fault for getting hurt. I’m done playing with you. Goodbye!”
Leo dusted himself off, put his hands in his pockets, and walked away casually.
By the time Berger and Bill regained consciousness, Leo was nowhere to be seen.
Berger punched the ground in frustration. Since joining the Royal Faith’s Order of Knights, he had never suffered such a defeat. This was a mark of shame in his career.
Bill staggered over to his Cross Sword, pulled it from the ground, and held it in his hands. Seeing the cracks on the blade made him want to cry.
This was a holy relic passed down by the archbishop. Now that it was damaged in his hands, how could he explain this to the archbishop?
“God, I curse that wretched Atrarian for the rest of my life!”
Berger also approached and pulled out his Cross Sword. His expression was more composed than Bill’s: “Bill, we must return quickly and inform Mr. Cedric about this. We cannot let that Atrarian leave Britain with Westminster Abbey’s treasure!”
Bill nodded: “That Atrarian is incredibly powerful. Only Mr. Cedric can defeat him. May God forgive us for our sins tonight.”
“The honor we lost today will be reclaimed!” Berger’s eyes were filled with determination.
It was already 2 AM. Leo walked alone on the empty streets, occasionally startled by drunkards appearing out of nowhere.
He wanted to hail a cab back to his hotel but strangely hadn’t seen a single taxi after walking for quite some time.
After walking some distance, Leo arrived at a bus stop.
He glanced casually at the names on the sign and saw his hotel’s name listed. But at this hour, there wouldn’t be any buses running.
Just as Leo was about to continue walking, blinding headlights shone on him.
Leo squinted instinctively at the approaching bus. The three numbers on its front were clearly visible: Route 375!
While Leo stood there in uncertainty, Route 375 bus stopped at the platform and opened its doors.
Standing by the open door, Leo saw the driver turn his head and gesture for him to get on.
The driver’s face was pale without a trace of blood, and his eyes occasionally glowed faintly red. Leo’s heart skipped a beat; there was no way he would get on that bus.
Something was definitely wrong. It was already past 2 AM; there shouldn’t be any buses running at this hour.
Leo couldn’t help but peek inside the bus. He saw six or seven people sitting inside, all dressed in black evening wear with high collars.
Their faces were all pale. When they noticed Leo looking at them, they turned to look back at him simultaneously. Their mouths twitched slightly, revealing sharp teeth.
It was a bus full of vampires!
