Seeing the dense crowd, Bella collapsed to the ground, her legs trembling uncontrollably. She had never witnessed such a scene before.
“Take her away!”
Without another word, the group rushed forward, dragging Bella away despite her cries for help. Their faces remained expressionless.
Heavy footsteps echoed.
A middle-aged man, resembling a general, approached with a group of black-armored soldiers.
Step by step, they neared the office.
The general glanced at Quentin. Understanding his look, he didn’t reveal Quentin’s identity.
“Someone reported that a suspect posted false information online, causing widespread panic and significant harm to the public.”
“Now, we need to take the relevant individuals back for a thorough investigation,” the middle-aged man said sternly.
With a wave of his hand, his men stepped forward and dragged MekhiJaeden away without hesitation. The scene was so intimidating that no one dared to speak.
Quentin knew that once these guys were taken away, it would be three to five years before they could come out again.
Charlotte hadn’t expected Quentin to call in official personnel who took this matter so seriously.
Especially Mr. Lewis, who had offended Charlotte, was now trembling with fear.
“Charlotte, I’m sorry! I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have insulted you without knowing the facts. I admit my mistake!”
“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, no one in this office will dare disrespect you. I promise!”
Charlotte’s tone was icy as she chuckled, “No need.”
“Mr. Lewis, I’ve decided to resign. There’s no reason for me to stay here.”
After working here for a few days, Charlotte was exhausted and didn’t want to continue playing their games. Most importantly, she felt no sense of belonging here.
She couldn’t find a reason to stay!
Why make things difficult for herself?
Quentin said, “I support you.”
He didn’t want his woman to suffer. If needed, he could take care of her; money wasn’t an issue.
Mr. Lewis was extremely embarrassed.
“Handle the resignation procedures yourselves. We’re leaving now.”
Quentin pulled Charlotte away.
Clark watched Quentin leave and then turned his cold gaze to Mr. Lewis. “You have some nerve, daring to hit Miss Pittman!”
“Don’t bother coming to work anymore. Someone will replace you!”
With that, he left directly.
Mr. Lewis stood there with empty eyes, filled with regret.
But what use was it now?
Quentin and Charlotte walked out of the company, and Charlotte finally breathed a sigh of relief.
In truth, many things had weighed on her mind these past few days, making her very unhappy.
Now, she felt a sense of relief!
Quentin teased, “What’s wrong? Afraid I can’t support you?”
“No.” Charlotte shook her head. “Quentin, do you think I’m useless? After all, I’ve caused you so much trouble recently.”
“No.” Quentin’s face was firm. “No matter what, I’ll always be your strongest support and never leave you.”
They walked slowly side by side, savoring this rare moment of peace.
Charlotte said, “But after resigning, I don’t know where to go…”
She definitely wouldn’t return to the White family.
Now that she had resigned from Spicurity Group, where should she go?
“What are your thoughts?” Quentin asked.
“I don’t have any for now,” Charlotte shook her head but a spark of light flashed in her eyes.
Quentin noticed but didn’t say anything. No matter what choice Charlotte made, he would support her unconditionally!
“My beautiful lady, I sincerely invite you to take a ride with me.”
Quentin made a gesture of invitation.
His serious demeanor made Charlotte laugh softly. She slowly extended her hand and placed it in Quentin’s palm.
“Please-”
Quentin helped Charlotte into the passenger seat and was about to drive away.
But just then, a loud crash sounded nearby.
The sound of metal colliding was extremely loud. Not far from Quentin and the others, a car had crashed into the roadside barrier, rolling several times before coming to a stop…
The crowd around erupted in chaos.
Charlotte watched the scene unfold, her face turning pale with fear…
“Quentin, the car crashed…”
“It’s terrifying; the whole car is dented. The people inside must be gone.”
“Help me…”
“Help me…”
A weak voice came from inside the car.
The crowd gathered around but no one dared to step forward!
Charlotte couldn’t bear it. “Quentin, should we… go down and take a look?”
