When the silver sword touched the man in the cap’s right hand, it made a sizzling sound and emitted white smoke.
Brice couldn’t believe that the silver sword, which was known for its strong damage against the Blood Clan, could be held. In a daze, the man in the cap’s left hand had already struck Brice’s chest with a handprint.
In a critical moment, Brice let go of the silver sword, quickly retreated, and simultaneously countered with a handprint from his left hand.
With a loud explosion, the two energies collided, and the powerful recoil force caused both of them to continuously retreat.
Failing to defeat his opponent, Brice’s face turned grim.
The man in the cap threw the silver sword to the ground, and his right hand looked as if it had been burned, with skin and fingers sticking together.
“It seems that the Blood Clan is not weak either, but facing two against one, the odds are not in their favor,” Leo thought to himself, continuing to observe quietly.
The man in the suit grew impatient. “Brice, your strength has declined. You can’t even handle a lowly Blood Clan. Let me handle it!”
Upon hearing this, Brice became angry and shouted, “Marcel, I don’t need your help. I can take care of him myself!”
As Brice spoke, he beckoned with his hand, and the silver sword flew into his hand on its own.
Brice held the sword with both hands and muttered something under his breath. The silver sword immediately lit up, emitting a divine silver glow that exuded a sacred aura.
Seeing this, the man in the cap blinked his eyes like a lizard and a flash of blood appeared in his eyes.
Brice let out a low roar from his mouth and chanted an incantation that even Leo’s earplugs couldn’t translate.
Then, he saw the glowing silver sword in his hand rapidly grow larger, carrying an unmatched power and dazzling radiance as it slashed towards the man in the cap.
The man in the cap crossed his hands in front of his chest, wearing a devout expression on his face. He murmured, “Sanguinus, I am your loyal servant. Please grant me power!”
The man in the cap’s eyes turned completely red, and his body emitted a blood-colored light.
He raised his right hand, and a blood-red trident appeared in his hand, meeting the huge silver sword that was descending.
At the same time, Marcel, the man in the suit, took out an unknown object from his body and sacrificed it.
A blue light rapidly spread, covering the entire alleyway, appearing similar to a barrier.
Leo was naturally included within its coverage. After a deafening roar, the silver light and blood light exploded like fireworks.
If it weren’t for Marcel’s barrier shielding everything, it would have caused ordinary people to flock to this alleyway.
After the attack, Brice took several steps back while clutching his chest and spitting out blood. The silver sword in his hand fell to the ground and broke into two pieces.
Looking at the man in the cap, it was even more gruesome. His body began to crack and soon shattered into several large pieces like stone, turning into a pool of blood after falling to the ground.
A mysterious fluctuation appeared, and a blood-red light spot emerged from the blood pool, flying straight towards Leo’s hidden location.
Leo was prepared and knew that this light spot must be the “thing” mentioned by the two men in suits. He activated his Spiritual Power and disappeared from his original position.
In just a second, when Leo reappeared, he had already caught the blood-red light spot in his hand.
Opening his hand to take a look, it was a small silver beetle that felt ice-cold in his hand.
“Who are you? Hand over the thing!” Leo suddenly appeared next to the blood pool left by the man in the cap, his expression calm as he ignored Brice and Marcel’s shocked and angry faces.
Marcel squeezed out three words through his teeth: “Don’t hand it over, die!”
Taking advantage of being stronger, Leo formed a seal with his left hand and directly struck Brice and Marcel with a symbol. At the same time, he used an Escape Technique and disappeared from the spot.
Brice and Marcel both punched at the same time, and two silver fists appeared, colliding with Leo’s symbol.
After an explosion, both silver fists and symbols dissipated at the same time.
When Brice and Marcel tried to catch Leo, he had already vanished without a trace.
This made Brice and Marcel panic-stricken. They deeply experienced what it meant to be caught between a rock and a hard place.
Having obtained the item, Leo didn’t go to the Arc de Triomphe. Instead, he revealed himself in a small alley near the hotel and then put the item in his pocket as if nothing had happened.
After straightening out his clothes, he casually walked out of the alley and entered the hotel.
Entering his room and turning on the lights, Leo took out the item from his pocket and carefully examined it on the table.
This thing was only about the size of a newborn baby’s fist. It was entirely silver and shaped like a beetle, possibly made of pure silver.
Leo locked onto it with Divine Awareness but didn’t find anything special about it. It seemed like this thing was just an ordinary decoration.
“This shouldn’t be right. If this thing has no secrets, why were those two men in suits so nervous? And why did they kill a Blood Clan for this Holy Scarab?” Leo muttered to himself softly as he turned over the beetle.
The beetle had six legs. Leo tried moving its legs but it had no effect.
“Oh? There are letters.” Leo suddenly noticed a string of letters engraved on the beetle’s abdomen. The letters were very small and could only be seen if one looked closely.
Leo tried translating them and it seemed that the meaning of the letter string was – Holy Scarab.
Holy Scarab?
Could it be the Holy Scarab of Christianity?
Leo had some basic knowledge of Christianity. It was said that Christianity had many sacred artifacts, and Holy Scarab was one of them.
Legend has it that when Jesus was crucified and struggling on the cross, he held a small beetle in his hand. This beetle was stained with Christ’s holy blood or blessed by God, thus possessing great holy power.
“So it’s one of Christianity’s sacred artifacts.” Leo murmured to himself. “Who are those two men in suits? Why did they rob this Holy Scarab? And how did this Holy Scarab end up in the hands of a Blood Clan?”
There must be secrets here!
Holy Scarab… holy blood…
Leo seemed to have grasped something. He bit his right index finger, causing it to bleed, and then dropped a drop of blood on top of Holy Scarab’s head.
The change that Leo anticipated occurred. The Holy Scarab’s mouth moved twice, then it swallowed up the blood with a faint clicking sound.
After consuming the blood, its wings opened up as if preparing to fly.
However, instead of taking off, Holy Scarab remained in this state without moving.
Leo held it in his hand and discovered that there was something inside its abdomen.
To see what was inside Holy Scarab’s abdomen required its wings to be open.
