This romantic newlywed dinner that the two enjoyed for two hours came to an end.
Since it was still early, Sachin Lu suggested after paying the bill to stay on the mountain and take in the night view. They could return to the city later.
Rosiley Tang agreed.
Although she and Sachin were only married on paper, she had to say that it was a very pleasant night for her.
Most importantly, staying with him seemed to have her subtly forget some bad memories.
This is magical even for Rosiley.
Evidently, she knew him for less than 24 hours, but for some reasons, he could always make her feel safe.
The night view on the mountain was very nice, with breezes of night wind and a clear sky of stars. Rosiley went with Sachin to the observatory to watch the stars, then hung out at some scenic spots on the mountain.
Till around 10 pm, the temperature had fallen, and Sachin suggested they leave.
The two descended the mountain. Sachin delivered Rosiley directly to her front door.
Rosiley got off the car and said goodbye to Sachin, “Thank you for the delicate arrangement today. Stay safe on the road.”
Sachin, his one hand hung on the car windows, stared at her with his deep and inky eyes and disclosed his deep voice, “When are you ready to move in?”
“I’ll start packing later. If everything goes well, I can move in in about two days.”
Rosiley was positive.
Sachin nodded and reached out his hand from the car, “Give me your phone.”
Rosiley paused for a second and handed over the phone as instructed, having some doubts.
Sachin entered a series of number on it and said to her, “This is my private number. When you’ve packed your luggage, call me and I will have Lane Mu to come pick you up.”
Sachin finished explaining didn’t stay any longer. He stamped on the accelerator and drove away.
Rosiley stood on the spot, watching his car disappeared in the distance, and walked inside her house.
At this hour, the Tang family villa was still brightly lit.
Rosiley enter the door welcomed by Butler Zhao who greeted her respectfully, “My lady, master have asked to have you meet him in the study. He wanted to talk to you.”
Rosiley paused for a moment, seemed a bit surprised. She glimpsed at the study and mocked, “What can we talk about?”
“Umm…”
The butler hesitated and took a glimpse at her sympathetically, “My lady, actually, the people from the Ji family was here today. The date of marriage between Miss Rorey Gu and Master Yunis Ji has been determined. The date…is the original date of your marriage with Master Ji.”
“What?”
Rosiley’s countenance was frozen; it was unbelievable.
“My lady, please don’t be too upset.”
Butler Zhao sighed and looked at Rosily with concerns that she might take things too hard.
Rosiley fell into silence, yet she felt a sense of piercing chill bursting through her heart; so cold it was suffocating.
Rosiley took a deep breath, suppressing this pain inside, and walked slowly to the study.
The door was unclosed, half-opened. Through the crack, she saw her father drinking tea on the sofa.
Rosiley clenched her fist and pushed open the door.
“You’re back?”
“Butler Zhao said you wanted to talk to me. What do you want to talk about?”
On entering the study, Rosiley left out the greetings, and talked coldly like a ten thousand years old glacier.
Seneca Tang seemed to have gotten used to Rosiley’s attitude; he paid no attention, gently lowered the cup of tea, and said, “I wanted to talk to you about your sister and Yunis Ji’s marriage have been settled.”
Rosiley’s vision became translucent. Her voice, as if being buried by a layer of frost, became even colder, “I already knew.”
“You already knew?”
Rosiley paused; she seemed a bit surprised.
“Yes. If Butler Zhao didn’t tell me, I really wouldn’t know that my ‘good father’ would stab me in the back!”
Rosiley laughed ironically, with an immense hostility seeping through her eyes.
“What are you suggesting?”
Seneca, his countenance darkened, was unpleasantly provoked by Rosiley’s disobedient words and look.
“Did I say something wrong? Before today, Yunis Ji was my fiancé. He betrayed me and hooked up with that bitch Rorey Gu. It’s fine you didn’t oppose their marriage, but you said yes! How much more do you wanna embarrass your biological daughter?”
Rosiley glared at him, with rage erupting from her tone of voice.
For Rosiley, she could ignore that Yunis Ji cheated on her, she could also ignore that Rorey Gu deliberately made things difficult for her, but when she knew that Seneca Tang agreed to the marriage of that shameless couple and even chose the original marriage date for her and Yunis, she suddenly felt an unprecedented cold-heartedness.
Seneca felt a little guilty too, after being accused by Rosiley. His eyes flickered and even his tone softened, “Rosily, daddy knows you’ve been mistreated. But this thing between your sister and Yunis has been settled. Daddy could only approve their marriage. Just 3 more days, it’s Rorey’s engagement party. The date of marriage is set two months after. After a member of the Tang family, you need to be there then. So, about this thing, you should just let go.”
As soon as he stopped, Rosiley couldn’t believe what she heard.
“What…… did you say? Say that again?”
Rosily thought she must be hallucinating.
He…… asked him to join that shameless couple’s engagement party?
“HAHAHA……”
Rosiley’s eyes wide-opened in disbelief. Only feeling a stream of energy shooting towards her head, she burst out a raging laughter, “You really are my good father! Rorey Gu robbed me of my fiancé. You did nothing to seek justice, but you wanted me to join her engagement party? HAHAHA, what an eye-opener, treating your biological daughter like some worthless chaff, but taking in a stepdaughter from the mistress like some treasure.”
“I actually wanted to ask you. Am I really your daughter? If not, please tell me. Being your daughter makes me sad!”
What Seneca said was too upsetting for Rosiley that she was almost hysterical and spoke without self-constraint.
“ENOUGH!”
Seneca burst into anger, “This was Rorey’s fault, but she’s already pregnant. The die is cast. Should I separate them now? I didn’t blame her, all because I respect your auntie Xenia. Do you understand?”
“So, I’m supposed to be the one who should be sacrificed, right?”
Rosiley let out some cold laughter. She took a deep breath, forcefully pushed down the boundless chill and disappointment in her heart, and said calmly, “You’re not my father. If mom is still alive, she wouldn’t let someone bully me this way.”
As she finished talking, she turned and left without once turning her head.
Right before she stepped outside the door, she paused and added, “In two days, I’ll move out. I won’t go to Rorey Gu’s engagement party. You better forget about it.”
