This room appeared to be a study, elegantly furnished.
Ancient paintings adorned the walls, and there were two large sandalwood bookcases.
Upon entering the room, Kihachi didn’t immediately speak to Leo. Instead, he walked straight to one of the paintings.
Kihachi lifted the painting, revealing a small protrusion on the wall. He pressed it a few times in a regular pattern.
Soon, the solid wooden floor emitted a slight sound, and a hidden compartment appeared.
Inside the compartment was a long and thick mahogany box.
Kihachi picked up the mahogany box and placed it on the desk.
“Mr. Bloomer, those Orientia ninjas wanted to kill me for what’s inside this box.” Kihachi pointed at the mahogany box.
Leo’s gaze shifted to the mahogany box, and his eyebrows raised involuntarily.
As a Cultivator, Leo could clearly sense a faint aura of bloodthirst emanating from the box.
Kihachi then proceeded to open the mahogany box.
Inside the box was a three-foot-long samurai sword.
The sword had a black and gold scabbard, a slender crimson handle, and mysterious runes engraved on it.
Leo’s gaze sharpened as he reached out and took the sword out of the box.
Then, he slowly unsheathed the blade by gripping the handle.
As Leo drew the blade, a chilling gleam emerged.
“Mr. Bloomer, be careful. This samurai sword is extremely sharp,” Kihachi instinctively warned.
Leo fully unsheathed the sword.
The middle part of the blade was pure black, engraved with strange silver runes.
The edge of the blade was incredibly sharp. Even without testing it, Leo knew that this samurai sword could effortlessly cut through iron.
At that moment, a powerful aura of bloodthirst surged from the blade.
Kihachi felt uncomfortable and took a few steps back.
Although Leo could resist this bloodthirst, he was still affected to some extent.
To think that such a strong aura of bloodthirst could emanate from a single sword.
This was an evil sword. Leo’s face darkened as he came to this conclusion.
Leo activated his Spiritual Power and entered the sword, dissipating most of the bloodthirst.
“Mr. Mcguire, what is the origin of this samurai sword?” Leo asked with a solemn tone.
“This samurai sword should be one of the six legendary demonic swords of Orientia, Gokumaru Kunitsuna!” Kihachi stepped forward and looked at the samurai sword in Leo’s hand with a grave expression.
“Gokumaru Kunitsuna?” Leo’s expression changed.
Gokumaru Kunitsuna was forged by the blacksmith Kunikane three years ago and was said to be the heirloom of the Hojo Clan.
Kihachi continued, “According to legend, his grandfather, father, and eldest son all died under Gokumaru Kunitsuna.”
“No wonder Hojo Clan sent four powerful ninjas…” Leo murmured to himself before asking, “How did Mr. Mcguire obtain this samurai sword?”
“I won this sword at an underground auction in Riceland two months ago.”
“After I found out that this sword was Gokumaru Kunitsuna from Orientia legends, I was excited. But later events made me regret winning this sword.”
“Is it related to the ninja attack by Hojo Clan?”
“Yes!” Kihachi’s usually calm face revealed a hint of hatred.
“I don’t know how Hojo Clan found out that I had Gokumaru Kunitsuna, but they sent people to find me and try to buy back this sword.”
“And Mr. Mcguire refused?”
“I didn’t refuse.” Kihachi shook his head. “I know Orientia people are treacherous. Hojo Clan is determined to obtain Gokumaru Kunitsuna at any cost, so I proposed exchanging it for a national treasure stolen from Atraria.”
“However, during the negotiation, Hojo Clan unexpectedly sent ninjas to attack my estate!”
“These bastards wanted to take Gokumaru Kunitsuna without paying a price.”
“The Martial Cultivators in my estate are not to be trifled with. Both sides engaged in a fierce battle, resulting in casualties on both sides.”
“After that attack, negotiations were impossible. Hojo Clan’s ninjas launched attacks and assassination attempts against me, leading to tonight’s events.”
As he spoke, flames of hatred burned in Kihachi’s eyes.
“Mr. Mcguire, Orientia people are treacherous. They are hard to catch with open force but strike unexpectedly with hidden arrows. This Gokumaru Kunitsuna is like holding a hot potato. Why don’t you just give it to them…”
Kihachi was just an ordinary person after all. In Leo’s eyes, holding onto Gokumaru Kunitsuna only brought harm without any benefits.
If it weren’t for himself encountering these events at tonight’s auction, Amaya would have likely been captured by ninjas and even faced mortal danger.
With Kihachi’s wealth and broad-mindedness, he shouldn’t attach so much importance to an Orientia samurai sword.
“Mr. Bloomer, actually after my estate was attacked, I intended to give Gokumaru Kunitsuna to Hojo Clan. After all, it’s unwise to make enemies with an Orientia ninja family over a sword.”
“But now, I will never compromise. I will have an endless feud with Hojo Clan!” Kihachi’s tone was resolute.
“Mr. Mcguire, why is that?”
“In the fourth ninja attack, my lover was struck on the back of her head by a ninja with a samurai sword. Her brain suffered severe damage, and she became a vegetable. I searched for renowned doctors worldwide but couldn’t wake her up.”
Kihachi’s voice became low and hoarse as he reached the end of his words.
“I swear I won’t rest until I have avenged her! Even if I have to destroy Gokumaru Kunitsuna, I will never give it to Hojo Clan.”
Understanding the deeper reasons behind Kihachi’s determination, Leo empathized with him.
“To seek revenge for my lover, in the fourth ninja attack, I hired powerful individuals from the Powers family and killed one Earth Ninja, five Human Ninjas from Hojo Clan, and around ten Upper Ninjas!”
“After suffering heavy losses, Hojo Clan stayed quiet for over a month. But unexpectedly, they followed me secretly to Langstel and launched an attack at the auction tonight.”
Kihachi looked at Leo with gratitude. “If it weren’t for you, Mr. Bloomer, my daughter and I would have been in grave danger this time.”
“No need for thanks, Mr. Mcguire. I have no fondness for Orientia people or Orientia ninjas. Since I’ve encountered them, killing them is only natural. By the way, Mr. Mcguire, how strong is Hojo Clan overall?”
After killing three ninjas from Hojo Clan, Leo knew that he had already become involved in this matter and couldn’t stay out of it anymore.
He had already crossed paths with the Koken family; adding one more enemy like Hojo Clan didn’t matter to him.
“I’m sorry for dragging you into this, Mr. Bloomer. If you ever need any help from me in the future, feel free to ask,” Kihachi expressed his gratitude before continuing, “Hojo Clan is currently a semi-hidden ninja family. Ordinary Orientia people have no knowledge of this family.”
