103. “So, it wasn’t a dream? It was all real?” Macy asked as she sat on the bed.
Joey was done examining her and he had concluded that she was alright.
They had both been surprised that they had been talking for two hours and that’s why they hadn’t even thought of looking in on her.
But Macy was a fighter and no sickness has ever been able to put her down.
“No. It wasn’t a dream,” Richard answered as he held her hand.
Macy looked at the interconnected palms and felt strange.
When Richard first asked her to be with him, she would never have thought that they have more together than Mel and the love she had tried to deny because she wasn’t pure, according to her standards.
But who would have ever thought that she fell in love with the same man who took her first?
She couldn’t believe it and she had been so shocked that she ran a fever but she was okay now.
“Yo, Rich…” Joey called with a smile that told Richard that he wasn’t going anywhere and wanted an intro.
“Don’t you have anywhere to be?” Richard asked him.
“No. I’m here today for you and if there is an emergency, my nurse will call me,” Joey shamelessly said.
He wasn’t about to be shooed off when there were so many questions he wanted to ask.
Richard looked at his friend and sighed, “why are you such a pain in the ass?” Richard asked and Joey just smiled.
“Okay. Macy this is Joey and Joey, Macy, my girlfriend,” Richard introduced and Joey beamed.
“I’m his best friend since around forteen years ago and he’s the pain in the arse as I am sure you already know,” Joey said with a smile as he stretched his hand towards Macy for a handshake but Richard smacked it off.
“Behave!” Richard told him and Joey looked at Macy with a knowing smile and they both smiled.
Richard looked at them and shook his head.
“No Joey. You aren’t going to take away my wife from me with your smile. Your husband is waiting even if you have nowjere else to be,” Richard said and Joey laughed.
“He’s jealous but I am sure that we are going to be best of friends. I will see you around Macy and it was nice meeting you.
Bey Rich. And my husband misses you,” Joey said as he took his medical bag and left.
“That’s your best friend?” Macy asked with amazemebt in her eyes.
She had never really thought of the kind of friends Richard would make but it had never crossed her mind that it would be the kind of Joey.
“Yes he is. My best friend crazy as it may seem.
How are you feeling?” Richard asked checking her temperature with the back of his hand and Macy held that hand.
“I am well. Not unless you don’t trust your friend,” Macy said and Richard kissed the back of the her hand, the one he had been holding in to since she woke up.
“I trust him because he is the best there is in whatever he does. It’s just that… you had me worried,” Richard said and Macy did something she never thought she would ever do.
She leaned towards him and before Richard could fathom what was happening, he felt a soft kiss to his cheek and it caught him off guard.
He turned and looked at Macy and then he felt his self restraint fly away.
He couldn’t ever remember himself ever feeling this way for a woman before. Not even Cassy the mother of his child.
He looked at her and then without giving her time to run away or hide, he leaned in and claimed her lips.
Macy was taken aback by the abrupt kiss and she just sat there frozen but Richard wasn’t giving her a chance.
He smooched and sucked her lips and then licked them with his wet tongue and Macy gasped at the shock.
He would have credited Richard as anything but not as a tease and that’s why she was shocked because he was changing how she viewed the world.
On his side, he took advantage of the moment she gasped and invited his tongue into her cavity without her permission.
He explored her whole mouth and his tongue chased her tongue and Macy felt all reaosnjg fly away.
Macy was a novice when it came to all this because she, in fact, has never been in love with anyone and the first time was taken from her though now that she knew that it was by this man, she didn’t regret it anymore.
She closed her eyes and matched him in the tongue battle.
They sucked and locked and nibbled until they both ran out of breath.
They broke the kiss and then stared at each other. No one knew what the other was reading and they both hoped to see that through each other’s eyes.
“I have never felt this way about anyone before. You make me feel things I didn’t think were possible to feel,” Richard said and Macy blushed but a good thing was that her face was dark skinned and the blush couldn’t show on her skin but Richard, an expert at reading people, saw the change.
“And you are my first in a lot of things. I have never been in love before,” Macy confessed and broke the eye contact.
She wasn’t an insecure person but she feared that Richard might hate her for her inexperience.
“Then allow me to teach you what I know and we learn together,” was the answer she got and that had her looking at him with a gentle smile that came involuntarily as she felt her heart beat increase.
“Let’s get married,” Richard said and that had Macy breaking the eye contact again.
When Richard said those words to her for the first time, she had thought that he had lost it but now that they had come that far, she knew that he was serious.
But the big question was, was she ready to settle down?
“Shouldn’t you at least take me to dinner first?” She joined bur Richard took it seriously.
“Okay. If you want me to take you to dinner first I will. Should I take care of it or do you have a hotel of your choice?” He asked and she smiled.
“I’m just kidding. Let’s find our baby first and then we can talk about marriage so as to give the both of them a warm home,” Macy said and Richard kissed her hand again.
“You are a wonderful woman, do you know that?” Richard said and that had Macy blushed to high heaven and she couldn’t hide it this time.
“How’s Mel? Have you checked on her?” Macy asked to mask the blush and as if she had conjured her wish, Richard’s phone rang.
“It’s Ash,” he said as he took it from his pocket and looked at the screen.
“This better be important,” he said to the speaker when he received the call.
“Ai, brother. Haven’t you even missed us? Anyway, I have a lot to tell you but for now, someone wants to talk to you and she won’t let me work she…” Ash said but he didn’t get to finish as the phone was taken from him.
“Daddy? Where is mom?” Mel didn’t even greet his father and asked.
“So, you can’t even greet me?” Richard lamented.
“How are you dad? Are you well? Have you eaten? Now, where is mom?” She said and asked the same question again.
Richard have up and gave the phone to Macy.
“Hello?” Macy spoke and she heard a squeal from the other side of the phone.
“Mama! I missed you. Where are you and why haven’t you called me,” Mel said changing the tone of her voice from the one she used to address her dad to the baby-ish one she used on Macy.
“Sorry baby. Mama has been busy but I will come home in a few days and I have a huge surprise for you,” Macy said and the other girl beamed.
“Okay mama. But call even if you are busy, okay?” Mel said and Macy melted.
She didn’t know what she did to deserve Mel.
She thought that maybe, just maybe, she had accumulated a lot of good karma in her previous life and this was her reward.
“I will baby. Love you,” she said and smooched into the speaker of the phone.
“I love you too mama. Mmmmwwaaah!” Mel said and returned the gesture.
“Thank you,” she said as she handed the phone to Richard again.
I want them to meet soon so that they can start bonding,” Macy said with a fremay look.
She couldn’t even begin to describe the happiness she felt from the thought itself.
She imagined the house full of laughter of both the boy and Mel.
“Have you found them?” She asked and at that moment, her phone rang.
