Arthur’s Pov:-
“You can go now,” I said to my Assistant,
“Okay, Sir,” he replied and walked away,
I stretched my hands and stood up, I glanced at the digital clock and it showed that it was 11:30 pm. The whole day I kept working on all the pending works, and meetings, I was so exhausted. Working late hours wasn’t the first time for me but I missed Davina, her face always calmed me and now I needed to see her.
She might be waiting for me, I thought while standing up from the chair and taking my coat from it and wearing it. I walked out of my office and made my way to the parking lot. Mike opened the door as soon as he saw me, I got inside and he shut the door.
She might be worried about me, I was never late, goddamn it.
Mike immediately drove us from there, Whatever mom said had been running in my head. I want to tell her that I love her but I don’t know how, I couldn’t just tell while looking at her eyes. All the things I did to her rushes back to me when I look into those beautiful eyes of hers, I feel extremely guilty for hurting her.
I want to rectify my past mistakes and I’m ready to do anything for her, this time I will make sure I don’t hurt her. She had enough of pain in her life, from now on she will have only happiness and love for the rest of her life.
The first thing I have to do is… I have to destroy that stupid contract I created; I was crazy to even create it in the first place. Looking back at my behaviour, I feel so stupid. How the hell was she responsible for what Allen did, why was I blinded with despair that I could see what I was doing.
I have to apologise to her for what I did, I have to bear the punishment she decides for me for hurting her. I have to do anything for her forgiveness.
Mike parked the car in the garage, I made my way to the main door and opened it quietly. The living room was completely dark.
Maybe she slept! I thought while closing the door behind and locking it. I walked through the living room towards the stairs, as I was about to climb something from the corner of my eyes caught my attention.
I stopped and turned towards the dining table, I could see someone, sitting on the chair while placing their head on the table. I walked towards the person and through the light coming from the window illuminated her beautiful sleeping face.
She looked so peaceful and relaxed, her face and aura always screamed innocence and calmness. Her aura always relaxed people around her. Few strands of her hair covered her face, I slowly pushed those away from her face and stared at her gorgeous face.
She was a kind of beauty which makes people feel happy and a calmness settles in their heart by just watching her. I feel so lucky to have her in my life.
I bent down and slowly lifted her up from the chair, she moaned in sleep while pressing her head against my chest. I made my way towards the stairs and climbed them, “You came?” She murmured while glancing at me through her sleepy eyes.
“Yes… I’m sorry, I was late!” I replied while glancing down at her,
“I was worried about you…” She murmured and went back to sleep.
I chuckled and made my way to my room; I pushed the door open and walked straight to my bed. I laid her down carefully and pulled the blanket over her, I stared down at her and a smile appeared on my face. It feels good when you see someone waiting for you and being worried about you at home.
I turned back and took a step forward; she grabbed my wrist. I got surprised and glanced back at her. She was sitting up while blinking rapidly,
“Have you had your dinner?” She asked,
“No, did you?” I asked,
“No… I was waiting for you,” she said while getting up from the bed,
Hearing her words something warm settled inside my chest and suddenly I felt guilty for not calling her and letting her know that I could be late.
“I’m sorry… I should have informed you…” She cut me off,
“Don’t say sorry… I knew you would have been busy,” she said while staring at my face,
I smiled at her, “One sec… I’ll fresh up,”
“Okay…” She smiled,
