Chapter 89

Book:His Despair. Published:2024-6-9

“I didn’t kill her,” Samuel replied,
“… then why were you in Davina’s room?” I asked,
He stared at me blankly and my patience was running out, “If you weren’t the one…” I stood while questioning, “Then… Why were you in her room…” I made my way towards him, “You had a gun in your hands as well,”
I bent down and looked into his eyes, “You are the culprit… You killed Olivia,” I said.
I noticed the fear in his eyes, he gulped and looked away. I grabbed a fist of his hair and banged his head on the desk hard.
“Ah!” he screamed in pain,
“Tell me!” I yelled in anger,
“Yes!” He cried,
“I killed her,” he sobbed, blood was running down from his head as he cried in agony.
“Why?” I asked while gritting my teeth in pure rage,
“I had no other choice…” He sobbed,
Hearing his words something hit my mind, and I quickly asked the question, “… Are you the one who held her captive?”
As I asked him, he began to cry harder, “Tell me,” I yelled in pure irritation. He kept sobbing in pain and wasn’t answering my question which made me extremely irritated and impatient.
“Tell me you bastard,” I shrieked in rage,
“Did you kill her child and tortured her for years?” I yelled,
“Answer me,” I yelled,
“Noooo” He scrammed while shaking his head,
I stared at him in confusion, “I didn’t do that…” He sobbed,
I fisted my palm and slammed it on the desk in pure rage, “Fuck!” I groaned and ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.
I have to get to the bottom of this, I made a promise to Davina and I have to keep it no matter what.
Calm down, Arthur.
You need to handle him carefully and bring the truth out of his mouth.
I took a deep breath and pulled the stool towards him, I glanced at him while sitting down and controlling myself.
“Samuel, If you didn’t kidnap her and held her captive… then who did?” I asked while trying to stay calm.
“I can clearly see that… you knew she was kidnapped and held captive for years… you are also involved in it… otherwise you wouldn’t kill her,” I said,
“You were scared… She told me that she had dreams… She can remember a few things from the past and she was about to tell me about them in the morning… but we found her dead,” I noticed the way he was avoiding eye contact.
“You killed her… because you were scared that she would recognise you and would tell me about it! Aren’t you?” I asked,
He kept quiet, “Answer me,” I grit my teeth,
He gulped hard and glanced at me, “Y-yes,” He replied,
“I didn’t want her to recognise me,” He answered, “But she did,” He added.
I glanced at the mirror and gestured to them to switch on the cameras to record this, “Why don’t you tell me what you did that morning!” I asked while placing my hand on the table.
He gazed at me fearfully and gulped hard, “I heard her telling Emily… that… she was having dreams about what happened and she could hear voices… I got worried… I just wanted to check… so, I took my gun…and went to her in the morning… I wasn’t planning to kill her, I just wanted to check… I called her to come to the dining hall to have breakfast with her but… I saw her crying in her sleep,” he began telling me,
“I woke her up and she immediately recognised my voice… she said she remembered me and my voice and I… panicked… I shot her,” he cried, “I didn’t want to kill her,” I stared at him as he kept crying, I tried my best to control myself and not hit him again.
“So you were the one who held her captive and tortured her,” I said, “You killer Allen and her child… tortured her for years, ” I yelled.
“No!” He cried,
“I wasn’t” he yelled while staring at me with tears rolling down his face,
“I didn’t kill Allen, nor Olivia’s child… yes, I kidnapped her, Held her captive… beat her a few times” he confessed.
“Why?” I asked, “Why did you do that… she was like a daughter to you? I remember you treating her like your princess…”
“Treating her like a daughter and loving her as one… there’s a difference, Arthur,” he said staring at me, “She is not my daughter…”
“Her father… My brother… he never treated me as his own brother then why should I treat his good for nothing daughter as my own…” He said with so much hatred in his eyes,
“I’m sick and tired… pretending to love her,” he gritted his teeth,
Now, he was showing his true colours.
“But… I never wanted to torture her or kill her for what my brother did to me…” he said,
“If you didn’t torture her or killed Allen and her child… then who did?” I asked,
He stared at me blankly as I waited for his reply, “I can’t tell you that,” He replied,
“So, you know who did it?” I asked,
He slowly nodded his head.
