Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-8

Rakur was not expecting this at all. He was not expecting anyone to come to the silver alpha’s aid. But this battle… he wishes to see how far it will go, but he does not want to risk the life of his powerful army just like that, hence the reason for the retreat. He will not give up though, he’ll be back… but before he goes, he needs to do something to show the silver alpha just how far things can go.
He retrieved a piece of a strong shell from his pocket. This shell was a part of the egg that Camila hatched from. She might have resisted the call of her ordinary master, but the sly cub will never resist a call from its source…. Where it came from.
Rakur will be damned if he gives Damian an advantage over him by letting him keep that cub, because the more older it gets, the stronger it becomes. And besides, the stubborn one needs to learn a permanent lesson for her disobedience.
As his men fled, he held the shell upright and pointed it towards where the cub was. Camila was still fighting off a group of rogues before she heard the call. She stopped dead right there, and stared into the empty space.
Camila…
Miranda was too busy fighting off the men, but then she didn’t miss sight of what happened with Camila. She wondered why the cub stood still like that in the middle of the battle, and more rogues were about to attack her…
She quickly ran to her rescue, pushing her out of the way to fight the wolves who had meant to attack her.
Camila… what are you doing? Snap out of it, Camila.
It was good to see that they were winning the battle thanks to the help that came from god knows where but Camila… what had happened with Camila now?
Miranda then turned in the direction that answered her question, seeing what Rakur held pointing towards the cub, having full control of her mind again. He wondered why he hadn’t thought of using this before… at least now, he’d have had the stone in his keep.
Camila… no! Please snap out of it, Camila… he is no longer your master! You do not have to answer to him, Camila! You can overcome this.
Those words of hers didn’t work this time around, as no cub had ever resisted a call from it’s source, no matter how much it wanted to.
Though he was at a distance, amidst the battle noises, she could hear the voice of Rakur clearly. On the ground where she stood still laid a dagger that one of the rogues had dropped. Having no other choice but to retreat certainly didn’t make Rakur happy, but this surely would.
Camila… please… snap out of it…
Miranda’s loud voice faded away until the only thing Camila could hear was the voice of her master, enhanced by her source in his hand.
Camila?
Yes, master?
Pick up the knife…
Yes, master.
“NO….” Miranda tried moving to stop her, but once again she was held back by the sly cub herself. The sly cub was trapped again, and maybe… maybe this was the only way she could liberate herself; this was the only true way she could gain her freedom… for as long as she was on this earth… as long as someone could still control her through the power of her source, she would never be free… no matter how much she wished to be.
Camila… please…. Fight this… I am begging you to fight this with all you have.
Camila?
Yes, master…
I said… pick up the knife…
Yes, master…” and she did so, holding the knife before her as she stretched out her arm.
Good. Now, Camila… take your life…
No… please Camila… you do not have to listen… you do not have to obey… you can still be free…
I said… take your life… Camila. Take your life… Take your life…
Camila couldn’t hear Miranda’s words at all, as she pointed the knife straight towards her heart, obeying the words of her source, before taking her own life, there on the battle ground.

Now Rakur had settled a part of his heart that didn’t seem to want to rest until it was done, now he could return back to his territories with hope for a future that will one day have all the territories beneath his feet. But for now, he has to protect everything he has worked so hard to build, even if he doesn’t get what he wants now.
The greater number of rogues that had made it out alive had left the silver territories to the adjacent lands. The wolves they were fighting didn’t bother to follow them outside their borders, as no one wished for the war to extend beyond where it was. So then, the battle was finally over… for now… even though the silver wolves had lost so much today, they still defended their lands, and they’d won… for now.
Alpha Damian is happy that he stood his ground. He is glad that his people are protected, but then some part of it doesn’t sit well with him finding out that all that help came from Walden.
**********
A few hours later, the battle ground was being cleared and the rest of Walden’s men helped to check for survivors, while the dead wolves were being buried right away.
Miranda personally took Camila’s body and laid it to rest in a special part of the silver cemetery. For moments after that, she wept in front of the grave, pouring her heart out. No one stopped her, as not many of them could relate to the pain she felt. It was best to allow her let out her grievances in the best way she could.
Hi, Miranda.
She turned to see Walden standing right behind her. He had just arrived to oversee the outcome of the battle, and was glad to know that Miranda and her people was okay, and he was the one responsible for all that.
I heard what you did, Walden.
He began to explain himself… “I found out about the battle earlier today… I freaked out when I found out that it might have meant you losing your life… I gathered all of my men, including some from alpha Jireh for more help… I would have done much more than that to protect you. I know you don’t like me Miranda… but I love you very much, and…”
It was a surprise for him, a very big surprise when Miranda suddenly got up and shut his mouth up a kiss from her lips. Did this mean…? Did this mean that she’d forgiven him? Did this mean that they were back together….? Of course, it did. She was kissing him after all.
