Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-8

Katrina has been bothered. She’s tried to shove these thoughts out of her mind but they refused to go away. She’s worried about Renard. Ever since their kiss, he’s been avoiding her. She understands his reason for this. She knows how it was for her before but why is she not comfortable with the fact that the both of them aren’t talking to each other?
What she found out today made her even more skeptical regarding his whereabouts.
According to some of the guards, the beta has taken a few weeks off work with permission from the alpha, leaving the gamma in charge. No one has seen him in days and no one knows when he’ll return.
It’s upsetting that Katrina doesn’t get to see him anymore and now she can no longer suppress her urges. She needs to see him today. She thinks she’s ready to talk about what happened, at least anything to get him to start talking to her again. She never thought she’d admit this to herself before, but she misses him so much.
She decided then that no matter what happened today, she would go and see him at least, just to check up on him and see how he’s doing even if they don’t get to talk about anything.
She headed out that morning leaving through the Pack House gates and in the direction of the town. About an hour later, she reached his house. She could tell from outside that he was in because the door was locked from inside. She gave it a soft knock and waited for him to come and open up for her. How she wished to see him so badly.
To her utmost surprise, a young blonde beautiful lady opened up from inside. She was dressed in a skimpy night robe, quite obvious that she was living here but Renard never told her that he had a lover. What the hell was going on?
“Hi,” the lady said. “Can I help you in any way?”
“Um… Yes, I came to see Reynard. Is he in?”
She shook her head. “No, he just left for a morning hunt not quite long. Is it urgent?? Do you mind waiting for him?”
“No no no… I just wanted to see him that’s all, but it’s not that important. Thank you for letting me know…” Katrina began to turn but the lady called out to her.
“Who should I tell him came to see him today?”
“Don’t bother… thank you. It’s not important, just don’t bother,” she murmured as she left.
Nothing hurts her more than seeing that lady in his house. Katrina could only imagine what would have gone on the night before. This was too painful so painful; she knew she shouldn’t have come here. But Renard, how can he be so dishonest to lie about his feelings to her and not long after their kiss, he goes about bedding other women like she never even mattered?
She began to hear her wolf speak to her, “but he has the right to be with anyone he wants now. You rejected him, remember?”
“I did. I know I did but why do I feel this pang of jealousy hitting my heart so hard? Why don’t I like the idea of him being with another woman?” This is so frustrating; Katrina feels like she wants to tear her hair out. Why did he have to move on with another woman? Why? she cried as she made her way back to where she came from.
**********
Renard had woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. He had a mixture of different feelings and he wanted to let it all out. That was why he decided that nothing more could help like a good morning hunt.
He informed his guest, Martha before he left, telling her he’d be back soon and he kept to his word as he made sure not to spend too much time in the fields. This was his resting time off work and he would make the very most of it. He returned an hour later.
“Hello, welcome back. How was it?” Martha asked as she opened the door for him.
“It was good,” he shrugged. “Could have been better, but at least I have let some steam out.”
She put a hand on his shoulder, nudging him. I understand that you’re hurt Renard, but you can keep beating yourself up over this girl. It’s time to move on. I’m sure that there will be better chances of finding love later on for you.
“I’m trying Martha. It’s hard it’s really hard but I hope I’ll be able to one day.”
She took his hand, “anytime you need to talk to someone, remember that I’ll always be there for you.”
“Thank you, Martha, but you know you can’t keep staying here for long. Your mate would be missing you by now.”
Martha shrugged, “oh please. Jared can do without me for a few days; besides I need some time of away from the kids for a while. I need to clear my head just like the way you did.”
“I took some time off work. I didn’t leave my whole family behind at home. We didn’t do the same thing.”
She smirked “whatever. So, did you bring something home to chew on? I’ve been craving raw meat so much.”
“Oh, you didn’t tell me to. I didn’t know you want some… want me to go back?”
“Don’t worry, I don’t like stressing you. I’ll just find something to warm up in the kitchen. Thank you.”
“Okay then.”
Before turning to the kitchen, Martha then remembered something important; something she wanted to let him know about.
“Oh yes, and besides there was lady that came here looking for you today.”
He raised a brow, “what lady?”
She shrugged… “I don’t know… beautiful, black hair… seemed a bit younger than you.”
“What was her name?” He asked desperately.
“I don’t know. She didn’t tell me. She just she just said she was looking for you and when she saw me, she kind of freaked out and walked away.”
“Oh no. Please tell me you weren’t wearing this when you opened the door for her.”
“What? Is she the one?”
“Yes, it most certainly is Katrina. She’s the only woman I’ve brought here apart from you.”
