Before he could proceed Lucas interrupted him and said sternly, “You can rest assured Dad, I love her the most in this world, I was fool to leave her alone on aisle, but now I have realized my mistake and I will definitely fix everything”
Alex patted his shoulder and said, “Take care of her and my grandchild, and now if you dare to force my daughter-in-law for anything than you have to face me”
Lucas nodded and said, “Thanks Dad and I promise I will give her all the happiness of the world”
Alex forced a smile and said while walking out, “What have you thought of Catherine and her child?”
Lucas turned and looked at him and said, “Rest assure Dad, I will deal with her”
After coming out of the study room Alex held Alice’s wrist and walked out of the house, Alice was enraged because he supported Lucas after what he did.
They both sat in the back seat and the driver started the car, Alex said holding Alice’s hand, “Honey tell me? Do you remember how many misunderstandings we had in our marriage and before marriage?”
“If we wouldn’t have survived that time do you think we would have this family today?”
“I know what Lucas did with Carol is all wrong but you know why I am supporting him, it only because I have seen the love in his eyes for Carol, which I never saw for Catherine”
“Yes, what he did was wrong but now he had realized his mistake and I want to give him one change to fix the things, we should try to understand they are young and impulsive with their emotions”
“And we all go through that faze of life what’s important is realizing your mistake in time and fixing it”
Now Alice was a little fine with explanations of Alex, she remembers clearly how many struggles they had in their life, she smiled and hugged and said, “But how are you going to explain it to Mr. Mittal?”
“We will do our best to explain everything to her, for the happiness of our kids” replied Alex.
After Alex & Alice left Lucas walked to the kitchen and prepared some food for Carol.
After preparing the food he went to his bedroom to check on Carol and call her for dinner.
When he entered the room he saw her sleeping hugging the pillow tightly, he could not deny that he really wanted to be that pillow, for now, he walked to her and gently tried to pull away the pillow from her.
But Carol was holding it too tightly, and with every pull, her grip tightened and Lucas’s jealousy was increasing.
He was so jealous that he stood and brought scissors from a drawer and cut the pillow from one said making sure not to hurt Carol.
He slowly started removing the cotton filling of the pillow, and soon only the cover was left, Carol felt irritated as she lost the warm sensation from her arms.
With closed eyes, she raised her hands in search of warmth and her hands landed on Lucas’s neck and she pulled him close to her chest and slept again.
Lucas, who was trying to pull the empty pillow cover, but got pulled by sleeping Carol and his face landed on her soft chest.
Lucas felt like his breathing stopped for a moment, her soft breast was making him on like hell, and he controlled himself with all his energy and slowly tried to adjust on the bed next to her.
After struggling for almost ten minutes finally he was able to lie properly next to Carol.
He took her in his arms, and she also hugged him tightly, today he understood one thing that it is her sleeping habit, he had noticed it in the hospital also.
He smiled thinking that this habit of hers is good for him, even if they fight in future she will not be able to sleep without hugging him, but then the thought of a pillow came to his mind and he cursed the person who invented pillows.
After comforting her for some time, he slowly stood up from the bed and took her in his arms, and started walking downstairs to the dining room.
First, he gently placed her on the sofa in the living room, and then started calling her name softly, “Carol, please wake up it’s time of dinner”
But he didn’t get any response from her; he understood that she loves sleeping. He called her seven-eight times and after so many tries; she finally opened her beautiful eyes.
But what hurt him was these beautiful eyes were empty and blank now, no spark and he was the reason for it, but he swore to himself that he would bring his Carol back.
He ran to the kitchen and brought her food.
At first, Carol didn’t open her mouth, Lucas said, “Carol, you know you are very good girl right, so please eat this food”
Carol still didn’t react, Lucas took her hands and placed them on her belly, and said, “Carol, have a baby inside her belly if Carol won’t eat baby will also be hungry”
God knows what Carol understood and finally, the first word left her mouth, “Baby”
Lucas was unable to believe his ears; he jumped in joy and asked, “What did you say, say that again?”
But Carol again went silent, Lucas controlled himself thinking, ‘Lucas take it slow, don’t push her too hard’
But one thing changed. She opened her mouth to eat and Lucas fed her happily.
They both finished their dinner and Lucas took her to the garden for the walk, it was a little windy outside, Lucas felt Carol’s shivering hands in his hands which he was holding.
He immediately covered her with his coat and took her back inside the house, when he opened the door of his bedroom all the cotton filling of the pillow was now scattered in the room and it looked like an ice layer in the room.
Lucas gently put Carol on the bed but what surprised him was, the moment he kept Carol on the bed it looked like she noticed the room and mumbled, “Ice”
Lucas looked at her and for a moment felt that she was having some emotions in her eyes.
