Katherine got in draughts all the way. After coming back home, her face was still hot and her heartbeat kept quick.
She entered the bathroom to wash her face. Looking at herself in the mirror, she found her lips were red, swollen, clear and bright. Anyone could know what had happened at the sight of her.
Katherine suddenly thought of Theo who desired to kiss her before. She didn’t refuse, but a sense of repulsion came into her mind. Maybe it was because she had no affection for him in her heart, she was repulsed subconsciously.
Nevertheless, as for Jacob’s kiss tonight, although she refused, she seemed to have no sense of repulsion in her heart.
Did she still love him?
Katherine looked down at the bright and brilliant diamond ring on her finger, and laughed at herself.
What the hell was she doing?
Taking the ring off, Katherine immediately called a colleague to consult him about the house that he intended to rent out.
The colleague felt happy about her willingness to rent his house, “The house is well furnished and there is everything here. You can move in whenever you want.”
After thinking for a while, Katherine said decisively, “May I move in right now?”
The colleague was a little surprised, but he agreed, “No problem. I will wait for you there after a while and give you the key.”
“OK.”
Katherine immediately made a simple pack-up and set off with two children.
However, what she didn’t find was a car staying in the corner all the time. Jacob leaned against it, with a cigarette in his hand. He was staring at them since she took the children out.
Seeing the taxi leave, Jacob’s eyes deepened. He put out the cigarette, threw it into the garbage bin and then get into the car, following the taxi called by Katherine.
Staring at the taxi in front of him, Jacob kept a straight face, with a wisp of coldness flashing by his eyes.
He thought his threat worked. Well, it did indeed, but played a role of her preventive attitude to him.
Hardly had she arrived home when she was obliged to take the children to move.
If he hadn’t wanted to go back, and desired to see in what kind of place Katherine and the children lived for more than two years, he wouldn’t have discovered her trick tonight.
However, it was completely impossible for Katherine to escape from him in this way!
Arriving at the destination, Jacob didn’t wait for her to come out. He drove away after a long time.
Katherine stayed only one night with the children, and asked the nanny to come here to take care of them. As for herself, she returned to live in the original house.
She thought Jacob would trap her in the neighborhood or the company, but to her surprise, she hadn’t met him again for three days.
Because of this, she didn’t dare to ask Theo to come to pick her up during these days.
Katherine didn’t want to let Theo meet Jacob directly. She was afraid Jacob would do harm to Theo.
But it was impossible for Theo not to have contact with her all the time.
This noon, Theo arrived in front of the office building and called Katherine, “Did you get off work?”
Katherine glanced at the watch, and it was time to rest at the noon hour, “Yes, just now.”
“I was in front of your office building. Go downstairs and I will take you to have lunch.”
In normal times, Katherine would feel it was a normal meal, but now she couldn’t help being on the alert.
Looking downstairs, she saw Theo was indeed waiting for her. Katherine felt somehow a little flustered, and walked downstairs promptly.
When she was downstairs and walked in Theo’s direction, a figure appeared and walked straight towards her.
Out of the corner of her eye, Katherine turned her head and saw Jacob.
Jacob kept an indifferent expression. Seeing her looking in his direction, he glanced at Theo and then walked to Katherine naturally, with his arm around her waist, asking in a mild voice, “Why don’t you wear the ring I have given to you?”
Katherine was flustered and looked at Theo subconsciously.
Theo kept a cold countenance, looked at Jacob and said coldly, “Let go of her!”
Jacob smiled coldly, “She is my wife. Mr. Hunter, it’s none of your business no matter how I touch her.”
“Mr. Murray is so forgetful. Your wife was murdered by yourself two years ago, and her corpse was sent to be cremated. Now the woman you put your arm around is my fiancée.”
“You know it well whether she is my wife.” Jacob kept imperturbable.
Katherine tried to break away from Jacob’s hand, “Let go of me! I have no relationship with you.”
Jacob glanced at her sternly, “If I let go of you, how do you want me to treat him?”
He said in an extremely low voice, but Katherine stopped struggling.
Theo could see from first glance that Katherine was definitely threatened by Jacob, and he said quickly, “Kate, don’t listen to him! I will be OK. Come over to me.”
After speaking, he walked close to them.
Katherine was vacillating.
Jacob smiled faintly with a disapproving expression, “You can have a try.”
Katherine thought of Theo having been savagely beaten by Jacob before, and she felt distressed.
She couldn’t let Theo be injured again, who treated her so well.
“Theo, go back first. I want to have a talk with him.” Katherine said seriously.
