A few nurses were the first ones to rush over. When they saw Katherine’s bleeding chest, they quickly tore her clothes apart a little bit without thinking about anything else. They pressed on the wound tightly with gauze to stop the bleeding.
“Ah, there are so many scars on this young lady’s body…” A sharp-eyed nurse saw the bruises on Katherine’s body. She cautiously lifted a little more of Katherine’s clothes and her eyes widened in surprise. “Oh my God, is this young lady being abused? Why isn’t there a single place on her body that isn’t hurt?”
While flustered, Jacob immediately turned his attention to Katherine.
The nurse exposed her shoulders and arms. Her skin was no longer snow white but was covered with bruises. It was ugly and shocking.
Where did these injuries come from?
Jacob was stunned. His mind was even more chaotic. Those wounds could not have been accumulated in just a couple of days. She must have been tortured for a long time…
Who was it? Who did this to her?
The doctor also hurried over and lifted Katherine onto the stretcher before pushing her into the operating room and closing the door tightly.
Jacob stood by the door of the operating room in despair. His fingers were sticky and slippery. He looked down to see that his hand was full of blood.
It was Katherine’s blood. It was blood from her heart.
Jacob collapsed weakly and fell onto the bench.
His heart was filled with fear and panic, and his mind was full of Katherine’s blood. She looked so sad as she bid farewell to him, which broke his heart…
Perhaps he crossed the line based on how he treated her?
That was why she looked half dead. Even when faced with death, she didn’t hesitate at all because she had already regarded death as a relief.
“Katherine…” Jacob covered his face, feeling both pain and regret.
“Jake, what’s the matter?” Lucia hurried over. Seeing the bloodstains on Jacob’s body, she exclaimed, “Ah, why do you have so much blood on your body? Where’s my sister? How is she…”
“Shut up!” Jacob covered his face and said indifferently. “Shut up, don’t talk to me, don’t bother me!”
Lucia was taken aback for a moment. She then said in an aggrieved and injured tone, “Jake, I’m just caring about…”
“I told you to shut up!” Jacob was flustered and disconcerted. He didn’t want to hear anything except updates on Katherine.
Lucia froze and was silent. She pressed her lips together and felt resentful.
“Katherine is just a bitch. She’s already going to die yet she still has Jacob’s attention. It’s all because of that bitch. If it weren’t for her, why would Jake yell at me!” Lucia thought furiously.
“Hurry up and die, bitch!” Lucia cursed.
Time passed by.
An hour later, the door of the operating room opened.
The doctor shook his head with regret. “I’m sorry, Mr. Jacob, we tried our best…”
Jacob stared at the doctor with a sullen expression. With words as cold as ice, he asked, “What did you say?”
The doctor shivered. “I’m really sorry, the patient couldn’t…”
“Nonsense!” Jacob stood up abruptly and rushed towards the doctor ferociously.
The doctor’s legs became weak. He was so frightened that he fell to the ground.
Jacob pushed him away roughly and made his way into the operating room.
He didn’t believe that the woman was dead.
These people must be lying to him. That woman must be lying to him.
“Hasn’t she always wanted to leave? This is why she directed this play so that she can escape!” Jacob thought.
He would not believe that she was dead. He would expose her personally…
He rushed into the operating room in a few steps…
Katherine lay quietly on the snow-white operating bed.
The blood on her chest was shocking.
He felt something explode in his mind before his mind went blank instantly. He could not hear anything, nor could he see anything.
He could only see that tragic red.
He knelt on the ground weakly and lost all his strength in an instant.
That woman was really dead…
“Jake, don’t be like this.” Lucia hugged him and felt sorry for him. She turned and whispered to the nurse, “Please take my sister’s… body away. Take it somewhere quiet.”
