Jacob’s face was gloomy. His thin lips moved, and his words were cold. “Investigate this from beginning to end! If it is really Katherine, then…”
Lucia’s eyes tensed up, looking forward to Jacob’s next words.
Having Katherine’s heart removed was the result she wanted.
“I want Katherine to die!” Lucia thought.
“Let Katherine compensate you and provide you with healthy heart…” Jacob said the latter part of the sentence in a hoarse voice.
Lucia breathed a sigh of relief, but she still made a pretense. “No, Jake. Maybe there’s something that she can’t talk about… I already took away one of my sister’s kidneys. I can’t take away her heart.”
Jacob’s face was as cold as frost. He gritted his teeth and said, “She asked for it…”
Lucia covered her face and said nothing.
Katherine did not follow them to the hospital. She was left in the villa to cook soup for Lucia.
Suddenly the phone rang in the living room, and she hurried over to answer it, but no one spoke from the other end of the line. Just as she found it strange, the door was suddenly kicked open and several people in black rushed in. Without saying a word, they grabbed Katherine right away.
“What are you guys doing?” Katherine struggled with a bad feeling in her heart.
They still didn’t speak but went into the kitchen and brought out the half-cooked soup.
There were footsteps by the door again. It was Jacob who came in. He glanced at Katherine coldly, then lifted his chin and signaled his men to start inspecting.
A man in black immediately took out the tool and began to check Katherine’s stewed soup. A few minutes later, the instrument gave a warning. The man in black nodded and said, “Poisonous.”
The darkness in Jacob’s eyes suddenly became more turbulent. He turned and stared at Katherine fiercely without any emotion.
“Tell me, are you the one who caused Lucia to get chronic poisoning?”
Katherine was taken aback and didn’t have the chance to react.
Lucia was poisoned?
“Katherine, say it! Is it you!” Jacob yelled irritably. He rushed to Katherine impatiently and pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him and face his sullen and terrifying expression. “Did you poison Lucia and cause her heart failure? Are you scheming against Lucia again, trying to take her life?”
It dawned on Katherine that Lucia must be framing her again.
“Yes.” Katherine smiled. “Jacob, no matter what happened to Lucia, I did it. She is very vicious and disgusting, so I wanted her to die! If you can’t forgive me, then punish me and do whatever you want!”
It would be best if he could kill her now because she didn’t want to live anymore.
Jacob squinted. “Katherine, do you really think I wouldn’t kill you?”
Katherine laughed. “Jacob, does Lucia need my heart for her heart transplant surgery? You agreed with her, right? I also agree. Let’s stop talking nonsense and start the surgery. What’s the point of you saying that much to me now?”
It was obvious she was trying to provoke him.
“Katherine!” Jacob suddenly raised his hand and wanted to slap her. But he stopped halfway because of the look in Katherine’s eyes that she didn’t care about anything at all.
She didn’t care about anything.
Not caring about whether she was going to be dead or alive…
Jacob suddenly felt powerless. No matter what he did, this woman would never react to him again.
She didn’t love him or hate him. She just didn’t care about him.
Jacob felt weak and anxious. He came to realize that he wanted Katherine’s reaction, no matter what it was.
Things were at a deadlock between the two.
“Young Master…” The man in black on the side couldn’t bear but ask quietly, “Do you still want to take her to the hospital to check her heart?”
Katherine knelt without any expression on her face, still not showing any reaction.
Jacob looked away with difficulty. Enduring the anger in his heart, he said in a hoarse voice, “Take her there.”
Katherine was sent to the hospital soon, and various examinations followed.
But what nobody expected was that she was found to be pregnant.
The third time.
