Chapter 50 Sienna Moved In

Book:The Surging Of Love Published:2024-5-1

Rachel felt uncomfortable with her mother’s attitude, which was like denouncing her publicly for her crimes. However, she was already mentally prepared to become a sinner, and there was nothing to be afraid of.
Her faint tone was firm. “Mom, you can go ask Bently why he’d addressed me that way.”
“Then call him out.” Sophie pointed to the study angrily.
Robert pulled Sophie’s hand anxiously and whispered in her ears to persuade her, “The aide is here for business, stop doing this.”
Rachel remained calm and aloof. She replied, “I’m very busy. Ask yourself what you want to know.”
Finishing her words, Rachel resolutely walked to the entrance of the manor.
“Stop!” Sophie shouted at her again.
But Rachel kept walking without a stop, ignoring her.
She almost arrived at the entrance and Sophie chased after her with fury.
The door was pushed open, making them suddenly stopped one after another. Then they were both stunned when seeing two women entering.
Erica dragged a suitcase and walked into the house with Sienna side by side, with gentle smiles on their faces.
Looking at them, Rachel’s face turned pale, and a bad premonition surged in her heart.
Sophie’s face, which was still dark just now, changed much faster than the weather in summer. She suddenly put on a lovely smile.
Sienna greeted to them politely, “Good morning, Aunt Sophie. Good morning, Rachel.”
Rachel felt that this smile made her sickened. In the previous evening, Sienna splashed her with coffee. She also said that it was her misfortune to take her as bestie, and now she behaved like nothing had happened.
Sophie greeted her with a smile, “Sweetheart, here you are. What’s going on?” She pointed at the suitcase in Erica’s hand in confusion, looking puzzled.
Erica dragged the suitcase towards the living room, and when she passed by Rachel, she specifically said, “My younger sister is moving in to accompany me for a few days. We two haven’t been together for a long time.”
Rachel’s heart skipped a beat and she felt upset. She knew Sienna had hidden intention behind this. Erica had to go to work every day. How could she have time to accompany her younger sister, who was idle and didn’t have a job?
Sophie was overjoyed. She took Sienna’s hand and dragged her towards the living room. She was so happy that she had forgotten Rachel totally. While walking, she shouted towards the kitchen, “Kate, ask the servants to clean up a guest room. Take Sienna’s luggage upstairs.”
The servants and Kate rushed out to help.
Seeing Sienna moving with luggage, everyone smiled warmly to welcome her.
In the living room, Robert also smiled.
Sienna greeted politely him after approaching, “Good morning, Uncle Robert.”
Robert nodded in response, “Welcome, Sienna. You must stay here for a few more days. Your future mother-in-law is always nagging when Ewan would marry you and take you home. Her nagging made me tensed nowadays.”
Sienna and Erica smiled at each other and went to the living room together to sit down.
A servant served tea and snacks, and the four of them sat down, talking and laughing in polite and soft tones. The whole family scene in the living room was quite warm.
Nevertheless, Rachel, who had been standing in front of the entrance, was still in a daze. She quietly watched them chatting, like a forgotten dust in the corner.
She didn’t feel much upset. After all, she was used to it.
She had been used to being ignored and forgotten.
Exhaling a deep breath, she turned around and changed her shoes. Then she left the Hill Manor with heavy steps.
She probably figured out what was on Sienna’s mind.
Since Rachel couldn’t divorce Ewan and refused to keep trying now, Sienna wanted to do it in person, snatching her man back in the manner of first come, first served.
However, Rachel didn’t think Ewan belong to her originally. No matter what means Sienna would use to make him change his mind, Rachel didn’t care.
She gladly accepted that Sienna had moved into the Hill Manor, but she was unhappy inwardly.
No matter what, she could only take things as they came.

In Ewan’s study
Bently passed the file in his hand to Ewan and said respectfully, “Master Ewan, I found the two servants who resigned from North Garden Villa. Here’s the information from my investigation on them. Please have a look.”
Ewan immediately took over the file. He raised a question as he opened it, “Where did you find it?”
“They have traveled abroad, and word has it that they both have received generous severance pay after they were fired.”
Ewan knew that the dismissed employees had severance pay, and there was no problem with this.
After opening the file, he went it through carefully.
No problem was found from the beginning to the end, but the reason for being dismissed was — their master had been killed, but neither was able to protect the master. Hence they were fired.
The person who fired them was Henry.
They were ordered to leave the crime scene together, and the person who went upstairs to clean the pool was Ewan’s late aunt, Eve.
The reason was that a dead kitten was thrown into the pool.
There was nothing suspicious about the two servants.
Ewan covered the file, slowly looked at Bently, and asked, “Do you think those two servants told lies?”
“Not really. The cause of their absence was also reasonable. It was the deceased not the murderer who deliberately sent them away. I don’t think I could find anything else from them.”
Ewan leaned on the back of the chair, frowned into silence. There was a light sternness and a dignified look on his angular face.
Bently stood still, waiting for his command.
After a while, Ewan murmured, “How did the dead cat get in the swimming pool?”
“The servants said they didn’t know.”
“So, our clue came to an end in this way?”
Bently paused and asked slowly, “Then what shall we do next?”
“Let’s wait.”
Bently was silent for a moment, and then asked again, “What should we look into for the matter asked by President Travis?”
Ewan’s eyebrows frowned slightly, his blurred eyes staring at the tabletop. He was extremely calm. He said in a low voice, “We can’t be so anxious about the string of beads. As long as the murderer hasn’t come to the surface for a day, there would be no clue.”
“Does the string of beads have something to do with the murderer?”
Ewan ignored Bently’s question, showing a faint sneer ironically.
No one would associate Eve’s death with a string of beads that could impact the national security.
However, there was an inevitable relationship between them here.
“Keep on waiting. He has already started taking action.” Ewan kept peace on his mind, without any sense of urgency.
Bently answered with a nasal voice and waited for further instructions.
Ewan pondered for a while, then picked up the file, and read it again. He murmured, “You may go back now. Continue your investigation on this. Inform me if you’ve found anything new.”
“Yes, Master Ewan.”
After Bently saluted, he turned around, and was about to leave.
Then he suddenly recalled something and turned back to Ewan again. He said nervously, “Excuse me, Master Ewan. Just now, I…”
Ewan was surprised a bit. Then he raised his eyebrows, looking at Bently. His sharp eyes made Bently bite down the words at the tip of his tongue and look embarrassed.
“What’s the matter?” Ewan ran out of patience.
Bently struggled for a moment, and his tone became weak. “I ran into Missus when I just came in. I addressed her Missus, but your mother seemed to be… to Missus…”
Ewan raised his eyes fiercely. His face pulled long, his eyes darkened, and his brows furrowed. Faint cold aura instantly spread in the huge study room, and the air was about to freeze.
Bently hesitated and didn’t dare to go any further, knowing that he had caused trouble. He gulped nervously.
“I’m sorry, Master Ewan,” Bently saw the anger in Ewan’s cold eyes, and quickly apologized.
Ewan stood up abruptly, walked from behind the desk with his hands in his pockets, and asked coldly, “What did she do to Rachel?”
