Book:The Surging Of Love Published:2024-5-1

Old Master Hill looked up at Eliza angrily, “From the day she entered our Hill family, I have told all of you that she will be the child of Hill family and you all will be the siblings regardless who you are.”
“But her mother…”
Eliza had not finished her words and yet Ewan suddenly opened his mouth. His tone was extremely cold, “The case has not been implemented. Who gave you the qualification to identify the murderer?”
“…” Eliza looked at Ewan and then fell silent.
In this home, it seemed that Old Master Hill was the person with the most majestic and strongest aura. However, the person who everyone respected and was afraid the most was still Ewan.
Charles was trembling with fear just because of Ewan’s position. He immediately took Eliza’s wrist, forcibly dragged her to sit down, and gritted his teeth, “Shut up. Don’t get me into trouble.”
After Charles said to Eliza, he immediately smirked at Ewan, “Ewan, don’t fuss over your cousin. She is not sensible.”
Rachel looked at Ewan. His face was cold and there was a distant look toward other people in his eyes, but it was definitely not on her.
Did this kind of relief be regarded as helping her or her mother?
In her opinion, it might just be to protect her mother.
After all, he hated her more than Eliza.
Ewan calmed down Eliza’s anger with a sentence, and no one dared to say anything.
Rachel sat next to Ewan by seniority.
At this moment, he was on tenterhooks.
She came after taking a bath and the fragrance was faintly permeated. Ewan, who was sitting next to her, was the most sensitive as he could feel the scent that made him unable to concentrate.
Out of the corner of his eye, he realized that Rachel lowered her head. Her hands were put on her thighs under the table and she opened her hand to touch her palm.
At that moment, he paused and knitted his brows.
Old Master Hill was talking and everyone was listening carefully. Ewan suddenly reached out and grasped Rachel’s wrist.
Rachel was shocked and her face instantly turned pale. Her horrified eyes stared at him and she took her trembled hands away from his.
He just wanted to see her injury. He did not realize that his rudeness hurt her today.
However, what he saw in Rachel’s eyes was terrify. She was so afraid of him that her face immediately turned pale by his one action. Was Rachel really afraid of him?
The two were sitting side by side. Ewan held her hand and put it on his thigh. He looked down at her palm. Her white and tender palm were full of scars.
He was very angry, but at the moment, he blamed himself more.
Rachel was extremely nervous as she was afraid that others would see it, and even more afraid that Ewan would want to hurt her again. She did not know why he held her wrist, so she took her hands away.
However, her strength was too small to break free.
She realized that Ewan reached into his trouser pocket and took out a small red box. The small box was only the size of a matchbox and had an army badge on it.
It was Rachel’s first time to see this kind of thing. She wondered what Ewan wanted to do.
Ewan opened the lid and touched a thin layer of transparent ointment with his fingertips. He was then gently stroked her palm.
The light green flower aroma and mint smell filled the entire living room. Rachel felt the coldness on her palm and the pain on the wounds just now was instantly relieved. It was very soothing and comfortable.
She felt the warmth and gentleness from his fingertips for the first time. His action were so soft that he pulled at her heartstrings when he just touched her palm.
“What smells so fragrant?” Erica said suddenly.
“Well, it smells good. I can smell it too.”
Others also smelled it, sniffed and looked around.
Rachel was nervously at a loss and wanted to take her hand away, but Ewan grasped her palm and put it tightly on his thigh. He moved his body closer to the table to block the sight of the person next to him.
No one found out that the hands of the two under the table were held together.
“Don’t be distracted.” Old Master Hill gave an order and everyone focused again.
Rachel’s heart had been beating wildly at this moment. It was estimated that her heart rate had reached more than 200 bpm. Her palm had been surrounded by the warmth of his palm. Was this counted as holding hand?
She was secretly happy and forgot about how Ewan hurt her.
When no one paid attention to her, Ewan slowly lowered his head and let go of her hand. He then reached out to take her other hand.
Without him catching it this time, Rachel obediently put her hand on his lap.
He lowered his head and applied the ointment on her hand seriously. Rachel was in a good mood as her face was ruddy and she was secretly happy. However, in comparison, Ewan’s face turned even darker. He blamed and angry with himself even more after seeing her wounds.
He carefully applied the ointment to her, stroked her palm a few times with his fingertips, and left reluctantly.
Rachel was frustrated as soon as she could not feel his touch. Did he finish applying the ointment that fast?
Just as she took her hand away, Ewan suddenly stuffed the capped box into her palm.
She held the box and looked at him in astonishment.
Ewan’s eyes were looking at Old Master Hill instead. His face was cold and gloomy that she could not see any emotion at all.
Rachel hold the box and folded her hands on the table. She was then slowly approached Ewan’s side and her head was almost touching his arm. She whispered in a low voice, “Ewan, is this for me?”
“Yes.”
Ewan made a faint voice from his throat.
Rachel felt the sweetness in her heart. She pursed her lips and wanted to laugh. However, she did not want to reveal her thoughts. So, she lowered her head to hide her laugh and slowly sat up straight. She hold the small box in her hand and secretly putting it in her pocket.
She was in no mood to listen to what Old Master Hill was saying. The faces of the others were serious while she was lowered her head and immersed in her own thoughts.
After talking about the family affairs, Old Master Hill said about official business, “I’m getting old too and I don’t know when I would fall asleep forever. As early as a month ago, I had made a will. I won’t favor any son or grandson. So when I’m gone, I hope you all can accept it willingly in accordance with my will. You all are a family, so don’t argue too much.”
James, the youngest son of the second family and was still studying for a master’s degree in management, asked nervously, “Grandpa, I don’t care how you allocate the shares but I want to know who you are going to give the company to.”
“The person who has the ability to manage.” Old Master Hill said lightly.
James pointed at Ewan, “Everyone in our Hill Family is capable except Ewan who doesn’t do business. I just want to know what you think.”
Old Master Hill smiled and asked, “Ewan can manage a country’s military well. Do we need you to doubt about his ability in managing a company?”
This made everyone stunned. Ewan did not care because he had already guessed his grandfather’s mind and was not worried about his grandfather handing over the business to a busy man like him. However, others did not think so.
James was the most agitated and stood up abruptly, “Grandpa, you really want to hand over the business to Ewan?”
