Chapter 43 You are my brother’s woman

Book:t8 Published:2024-5-1

It was pouring in City H.
Lightning, like dark claws, showed its fangs and instantly tore the endless night.
The place where Trump came in person was called Crystal garden.
The house had over a hundred years of history and was designed with an ancient-modern mix. It was also a piece of land that the government permitted successors of the Nelson family to own forever, aside from government policies.
Trump was led into the courtyard by the housekeeper and went to the study room on the second floor.
The young man sitting at the desk was named Jake Nelson, the grandson of the current head of the Nelson family, Anthony Nelson. Jake listened to Trump and quickly headed to the third floor after gesturing Trump to wait.
At the same time, Anthony received a report from his subordinates. “Is it Patrick?” Anthony’s wife asked the moment he opened the bedroom door.
Anthony paused and turned around to look at his wife with reassuring eyes. “Yes. You can continue sleeping.”
“He came a day earlier than usual. Did something happen?”
“No, don’t worry. It’s just that he brought a girl over this time, but the girl got upset and ran away because of a misunderstanding. He wanted our help to search for her.”
“So why are you still here? Hurry up and call the mayor.”
Anthony didn’t know how to react after hearing his wife’s complaint. “I was just about to head to the study room to make the call. Go back to sleep! I still need to meet with Trump and ask him for the details.”
And so, from midnight until three in the morning, the entire City H was searching for a girl named Twinkle.
When Jake received news of Twinkle, he drove over to find her in person.
The bar named Three was founded by Anthony and had a long history in City H. The group of people, even armed police and firemen were dispatched, searched everywhere like headless flies, but no one expected to find the girl there.
A black cotton V-neck T-shirt, plus a pair of dark jeans, simple clothes, no sign of any brand, but touches of luxury. The six-feet-two-man had an unmatched family background and was a person of mixed race.
How handsome was Jake?
Think of Takeshi Kaneshiro, think of Dennis Wu.
As soon as Jake appeared, the entire bar boiled.
He was the dream of all women in the entire city of H and the rich husband figure chased after by women from the upper class down to the middle class.
The men stepped aside, and the women were about to make moves. Jake’s eyes anxiously swept through the hall and stopped on a blue figure at the bar. At that moment, some men were already plotting against the little girl.
Jake quickly stepped forward and took out his phone to take a look at the photo Trump sent him, comparing it with the drunk girl holding a bottle of alcohol in front of him.
The next second, he gracefully lifted his hand and a subordinate handed him a large blazer. He took it, wrapped it around the little girl, and took her away.
“Let go! If you dare do anything to me, I’m going to call the police!”
Twinkle felt uncomfortable and dizzy, and when she opened her eyes, the lights above her made her even dizzier. She was only resting at the bar and had no idea what happened to herself.
When Jake brought her out of the bar, in the night and under shadows from street lights, Twinkle worked hard to lift up her eyelids and saw an enlarged face in front of her.
“Wow, you are so hot!” Twinkle’s eyes shined and spoke light-mindedly. “It’s my pleasure dating a handsome man like you. Hottie, my name’s Twinkle. What’s your name?”
Jake didn’t know how to react and glanced at her. “Thank you for the compliment. You’re also very beautiful.”
The night-time wind whispered in her ears and Twinkle didn’t know how long Jake held her as he walked. She only remembered seeing the tall street lights pass by her, one by one as if she was watching a movie in reverse.
“But you can’t be mean to me just because you are handsome!”
“I don’t dare. You’re my brother’s woman!”
“Your brother? Dawn or Evan? Or Jing?”
Jake smiled and didn’t reply, knowing that she was drunk.
In contrast, Twinkle laughed foolishly. “What should I do? It’s so hard to choose! I like Evan, he’s so handsome but I also like Jing. Jing is artistic, has good handwriting, and is handsome. He’s obviously a caring man; I like men who are caring!”
“I see!” Jake finally reacted. “My brother is a little cold.”
Afterward, he dipped his head and softly placed her on the passenger seat. He buckled her safety belt and also lowered her seat so she can sleep more comfortably.
Twinkle became anxious and started struggling. “Are you a bad guy? Let go of me! I want to go home!”
“Go to sleep!”
Jake pulled a small blanket out of nowhere and covered Twinkle. “I’m a good guy. I’m going to bring you back to your home.”
Perhaps there was magic in his voice, Twinkle became quiet.
The car headed towards Patrick’s hotel. Along the way, Twinkle started sobbing again and her little mouth mumbled.
Jake didn’t know what happened between her and Patrick, but from her illogical yet intermittent cries, he learned that Patrick went out with a woman behind her back.
But that’s impossible!
As soon as he thought of getting more information out of her, Twinkle changed immediately and started singing.
As he took care of her during the 15-minute ride, Jake concluded that Patrick really found himself an interesting girl.
When Jake held a tightly wrapped Twinkle and appeared outside Patrick’s suite, Donald, Janet Jane, and Patrick all stood behind the door.
“Mr. Nelson!”
“Mr. Nelson!”
Donald and Janet Jane both greeted Jake politely.
In contrast, Patrick sat on the wheelchair and his dark eyes swept across Jake’s face. He stretched out his hand. “Give her to me.”
Such a natural attitude with light yet pressurizing words – it was as if Jake had no choice but to make the trip for him.
A trace of interest flashed across Jake’s face. He bent down and placed Twinkle in Patrick’s arms. He smiled and said, “I had no idea that you are so capable now. Even though you’re in a wheelchair, you’re still going out with prostitutes?”
Patrick’s eyes looked daggers for a moment, but when he saw the little girl in his arms, his gaze softened and become gentle. “Thanks.”
After Patrick finally said something that sounded human, Jake smiled and waved his hand as he turned around. “Grandpa said to bring the little girl with you for dinner at home after you go tomb-sweeping the day after tomorrow.”
“I don’t have time.”
“Grandma misses you.”
“No, not going.”
