Chapter 70 Habits

The song was “Hey Jude” by The Beatles.
“Hey Jude, don’t make it bad…”
Jenny remembered that her favorite song in high school was this song. At that time, she hadn’t experienced so many things. She was immersed in the study every day and barely thought about anything.
She did fulfill some of those dreams and the longing for the future at that time. This school she was studying in now was the gift she had been longing for a few years.
James looked back at her. The breezes blew the black hair at her temple, making him feel enchanted.
This woman was his Jude. And he wanted to tell her too. “Don’t be sad. You’re having a good life. Don’t carry the whole world on your shoulders.”
Jenny didn’t notice James’s gaze and just sang with the short-haired girl, “La la la la la…”
Hey Jude…
She was lost in thoughts. The melodious and relaxing music echoed in Jenny’s world, drawing a note that continued to move on in her time.
There were some emotions in her eyes, gradually drifting away with the breeze to an uncertain future.
As they returned to the hospital at night, Jenny’s feet started to be sore.
The caregiver got some hot water, “Ms. Andrews, your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. Soaking your feet in hot water for a while will make you feel better.”
Jenny thanked her, but she was still surprised. She thought this method was only popular in her country. How did the foreigners know this?
Soon, the caregiver solved her doubts.
“Mr. Yard told me to prepare hot water before you left, saying that it would make you feel better if you soaked your feet when you came back.”
It turned out to be James. She unconsciously looked up at him.
He was always so considerate. After knowing what to do, he would think about the next step in advance. Even such small details could be kept in his mind.
If she hadn’t fallen in love with Harold but fallen in love with him, she would be so happy now.
The temperature under her feet rose a little bit. Her whole body became extremely warm.
She woke up too early in the morning and the beach was windy. Now she felt much better.
Time passed quickly. When they came back, it was only four o’clock. After soaking her feet, Jenny read a book for a while. It was six o’clock when she raised her head again.
James had been using his phone to communicate with people about domestic affairs. He suddenly felt the moves of people around him and looked back at her, “Are you tired?”
Jenny shook her head.
Her biggest hobby in so many years was to find a quiet place to read some articles or learn something of interest.
James looked at his watch. “It’s almost time. Would you like to eat something?”
“We can just buy something and eat it in the ward later.”
James knew that she must be tired after walking for a whole day.
The caregiver went out to buy some food. James said goodbye to Jenny and left after finishing dinner.
It was rare for Jenny to have nothing to do so early. She suddenly felt that this kind of idleness was quite comfortable, lying on the bed with her eyes closed and wanting to rest for a while. Unexpectedly, she fell asleep.
It was already another day when she woke up. Maybe because she went to bed too early, she woke up very early.
At six o’clock, the sky outside slowly became bright. There was a cold dazzling white on the sky, which was a trace of the rising sun.
Jenny stretched and saw that the caregiver had already got up. She couldn’t help being a little surprised, “Do you get up so early every day?”
The caregiver nodded, “I have got used to it for so many years. I am used to getting up early no matter what time I go to bed. I feel that maybe there will be more time in my life by doing this.”
Jenny felt that what she said was reasonable and secretly thought that she should learn from her attitude towards life.
Jenny then walked into the bathroom, washed her face, and looked up in the mirror.
The girl in the mirror was no longer as pale as before. Perhaps it was because of the ease of life in the hospital, she looked quite healthy. Even though there was something unexpected happened, it wouldn’t affect her.
Jenny was satisfied with her look.
So many things happened before, which gave her a blow and almost let her give up on life. As she looked at herself now, she realized that she didn’t want to see herself become that way.
Suddenly an idea occurred to her. She remembered that the bag she brought to the hospital had been put aside. If she remembered it correctly, there were still some cosmetics that hadn’t been used for a long time.
Jenny quickly walked back to the ward and searched for it. She soon found it.
Ten minutes later, Jenny came out of the bathroom and winked at the caregiver.
She was very beautiful. Her facial features could be considered as the best in the crowd. Now with some light makeup on her face, she looked different.
The caregiver looked at her with admiration in her eyes, “Ms. Andrews, I heard that you studied film shooting and post-production, right?”
Jenny nodded.
“I think you chose the wrong major. You should study acting because you are so beautiful, much more beautiful than many actresses.”
The caregiver’s extravagant compliments made her a little embarrassed, “I just knew how to dress up. How can I be compared to a movie star?”
“Don’t be presumptuous, you are much more beautiful than them in my eyes.”
Jenny smiled shyly and suddenly thought that someone had said before that she could try to learn acting, but she never thought about it. She had only one goal.

Time flew quickly. She had kept up with her classmate in the lessons within a few days. The rest would be practical courses, but this wasn’t very difficult. It would be fine if she asked her classmates to teach her later.
The wound healed quickly. Under the care of the doctors and caregiver, the slightly inflamed wound was now almost healed. There was nothing else that she needed to do except not to touch water for a few days.
After the doctor arranged by James completed his work, he flew back to his city.

Harold didn’t come to her for several days. She was thankful but felt a little empty. She didn’t know what it was like. Maybe it was a habit, but she didn’t pay too much attention.
James came to find her early this morning, with the breakfast he bought from outside.
Jenny saw that he was wearing an extraordinarily formal suit, but she didn’t know his intentions.
“I guess you probably haven’t eaten yet, so I bring you some food.”
Jenny nodded and asked him strangely, “Do you have something to do today?”
James nodded as he heard, “I need to attend a medical summit today. I may have to leave for two days, and then I will go back to China.”
“Go home so soon?” Jenny was confused. “Did you say that there was a cooperative hospital in California and they wanted to ask you to go there? You decided not to go?”
“Yeah.” James paused, “Actually, I didn’t come to the United States this time for this. I only came here to see you. Now that your wound is almost healed and you are about to be discharged from the hospital, I’m relieved.”
In fact, he also wanted to stay in the United States to spend more time with Jenny, but he had to deal with some domestic affairs. He had no choice.
Jenny was a little upset, but it had nothing to do with some special feelings.
The good friend who had known her for so many years came here to help her, but she didn’t get to treat him well.
As James saw her like this, he really wanted to say something. Finally, he asked, “You…”
