“Um… wait, what did you say? Ten minutes?” Jenny took the phone away from her ear and took a look. “It’s only twenty to six, and it’s still dark. What are you doing so early?”
“You’ll know when I get there.” Wendy smiled mysteriously, “Get up and get ready!”
After hanging up the phone, Jenny couldn’t regain her senses for a long time.
What day was this? Was today her birthday?
Jenny thought, “No, she has celebrated her birthday long ago.”
Jenny propped herself up helplessly, feeling rather drowsy.
She just stayed up late last night. Was there anyone that could help her?
She dragged herself out of bed and struggled desperately, finally changed her clothes in the eighth minute, and roughly washed her face.
Then she thought that James had told her not to use her left hand as much as possible last night. Now she was using it again. If he knew about it, he would definitely lecture her.
Jenny sighed, for she couldn’t control this kind of thing.
The caregiver woke up very early every day. When she woke up to find that Jenny was also up, she was surprised.
“Ms. Andrews, you slept so late yesterday and got up so early today. Is there anything important?”
Jenny nodded helplessly. Wendy called her early in the morning. There was nothing she could do about it.
“I’m going out with my friend.”
“Then I’ll go buy you breakfast.”
“No, it’s okay. We’ll go out to eat.”
“All right. Then you should be careful and don’t force your arm.”
“I will.”
It was exactly ten minutes after Wendy called Jenny that she arrived.
People like her who did what she said should really work for Quarrington Group.
As soon as they met, Wendy looked at Jenny who was haggard with a complex expression, “Why do you look so haggard?”
Knowing that she was sick and hospitalized, Wendy thought she had almost recovered after so long, but her face was still so pale.
Jenny sighed, “I didn’t fall asleep until one o’clock in the morning and got up at five o’clock today. Do you think I can be energetic?”
The days of not going to school had made her a little lazy. She always wanted to sleep during the day and went to bed early at night.
She was disturbed by so many things every day, so she only escaped these things when sleeping.
Wendy didn’t go easy on her, “But today you won’t think that getting up early is torture. Get ready. We’re going out right away.”
“Now? Where to go?”
What she said aroused the curiosity of Jenny. What could make her so sure that she wouldn’t be disappointed?
Did Wendy want to give her a surprise?
The two left the hospital and drove straight to a place in the city.
The scenery faded along the way. They gradually left the bustling city.
She looked back at this city that she had been staying for a long time and felt like she was going to run away from home.
“Where are we going?” She asked again.
“It’s almost here.”
Jenny looked at the people outside the car becoming less and less. The expressway outside the city was getting closer. The sky was deep blue.
Although the scenery was beautiful, Jenny always felt that she was tricked to go out this time.
She knew several famous tourist attractions in Chicago, but she didn’t know where they would go in this direction.
Compared with Wendy, Jenny always seemed not energetic enough. She hadn’t been to many places after being here for so long.
The car drove for another two hours. Just when Jenny was nodding her head and was about to doze off, Wendy made a great swerve. Then the two got off the car by a lane.
Wendy pulled Jenny’s hand, “Come on.”
After they walked a few steps, crossed a small slope, and stopped next to a huge beach!
Jenny paused and felt excited.
This was Pismo Beach.
A world-renowned tourist destination, which was highly recommended in many travel magazines every year!
The azure sea tightly wrapped the west of California. The blue sea was sparkling against the early morning sun. There was a sandy beach.
The beautiful scenic area of Pismo Beach was the top holy place for the Southern Californians!
Wendy was obviously very pleased, for she always walked a few steps and then beckoned to Jenny.
“Come here!”
A high spot next to them was the most famous attraction here. There were a few people standing on it.
Jenny caught up with Wendy and climbed up.
The daylight at eight o’clock was always fresh and vivid. The morning sun rose from the sea with the bright yellow glow.
From a distance, they could see that the golden sun and blue sky merged into a long light. The gently undulating sea reflected the feeling of spring.
In this environment, people always feel comfortable.
The wind gradually blew from the sea with waves breaking on the shore. The sand that was close to the sea was slowly washed away. Then the seawater faded, leaving the beach covered with foam.
The beautiful seabirds warbled and didn’t have the slightest fear when they walked by people. Their calm looks made people want to stretch out their hands to tease them. However, as soon as they touched them, the seabirds ran away in a hurry.
The two walked off the spot as Wendy looked so relaxing.
“I wanted to come here a long time ago. But I didn’t have the time or the chance. You’re injured and didn’t get the chance to relax these days, so I want to ask you to come with me.”
“I thought you might want to take me to climb mountains or go to some famous churches, but I didn’t expect that you would come here.”
Jenny closed her eyes and opened her arms, feeling the cool sea breeze as if her whole body was relaxed. It was a wonderful experience.
“I know you haven’t been to the beach since you came here, so the first person I thought of was you when I got this idea. This is the closest sea to Chicago.”
The two walked towards the place near the sea.
The air in the morning was still a bit cool. Even if they were wearing coats, they would feel this refreshing breeze. Some foreigners took the children and the elderly sitting aside, others were wearing only swimsuits and walking along the beach.
The children sometimes yelled or trod water in the sea. Jenny admired their vitality.
After a while, they started to feel the heat of the sun, so they found a drier place to sit down, enjoying the beautiful moment of life.
People’s mood was really unpredictable. When you had troubles and shut yourself in a small room without anyone around you, those things that you keep in dark corners would struggle to get out to bother you.
The more lonely and quiet a person was, the more negative emotions would be infinitely intensified.
But when you were in a very open place, there was the sky and the earth to help you embrace and feel the beauty of nature as if even the soul would be nourished.
The children next to them rushed past again, screaming and laughing, spraying each other with water guns in their hands. When they passed by Jenny, she was splashed with cold water on her legs.
Jenny smiled at Wendy, then cast her gaze to the distant sea again.
The sea was always inclusive. It propped up large ships with its soft body. From ancient times to the present, countless people tried to conquer it but failed to reach the depths of the sea.
