Chapter 58 Not Haggle over

Book:The Secret Surrogate Lover Published:2024-5-1

Simon had hit the nail on the head, and James reached out for the tequila bottle again, just when he was going to pour himself another glass, Simon stopped him, “Drinking alcohol won’t help it.”
James thought for a while, let go of the bottle, and lowered his head, his face dark.
“Look at you, this must be because of Jenny, what is it?”
Simon remembered James mention once that he liked Jenny, and he agreed that she was a special girl.
James said with a low voice, “Why are there so many factors influencing it to like a person, why can’t you just get what you want, why are there so many things getting in between?”
“She doesn’t like you?”
When James heard that question he shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Simon smiled and raised the bottle that James was going to pour himself with a minute ago, then he held it next to the light, letting it sparkle in the light, and said slowly, “Tequila, named after a flower, meaning that you could do anything for love. Just like you right now.”
“Hah…” James gave a laugh, but didn’t say anything.
“I don’t know what happened between you two, but I know, you are excellent, same as Jenny, since you like her and can’t let go, just go for it.”
James didn’t say anything, he just sighed with emotion when he heard what Simon said.
Do anything for love, not let go if liking someone.
This was exactly how he handled things.
Harold was just more imperious, but compared to him it was not like he had no positives, but why was he feeling so down right now?
He sat up straight, and put some money on the bar table, “No need for change.”
Simon took the money, and laughed.
This day time bar was more like a hobby for him, a place for people to gather, he didn’t expect to make any money here.
James walked into broad daylight, the sun was still shining, after Simon talked to him, he felt much better.
He thought about it, and decided to go back to the hospital.

Jenny was back in her room, and sat down annoyed.
In her heart, James has always been a gentle person, she never thought he had another side.
She couldn’t understand why he started a fight today.
Her impression of him suddenly was really bad.
The weather of Southern California made people’s mood fickle a lot.
Screw it, she was not gonna haggle over what happened.
She just laid down on the bed to take a rest, when Harold walked in.
Jenny almost forgot about him, he was another person she had to deal with.
She sat up on the bed, “You don’t need to go to work?”
“No, the company will survive without me.”
That was true, all companies as big as Quarrington Group have emergency plans, even things such as collaborations didn’t need the president himself to show up.
Jenny nodded, “How long will you stay here?”
Her health was already much better than before, she didn’t need someone to stay with her all the time, her care nurse was more than enough.
Harold looked at her, and asked in his deep voice, “I contacted a tutor for you, she will come tomorrow to help you out.”
“That fast?” Jenny was surprised, “Is the time okay for her?”
Harold nodded, “She has already agreed.”
The point was, Harold was the president of Quarrington Group, there was absolutely no need for him to personally handle this, his assistant has done it all for him.
Jenny was a little shy, “Then I need to prepare for tomorrow, including everything we learned the past semester, pen paper, that’s really a lot.”
“I have already arranged someone to buy it all for you.” Harold said calmly.
“Buy?” Jenny was stunned, “I have everything at home…”
“You want me to break into your house?”
“…”
It was rare that Harold had so much patience with her, “You don’t need to hurry to get discharged, I have arranged another ward for you, you will move there tonight.”
Jenny felt guilty.
When she left the ward earlier, she told the nurse that she wanted to go home, who knew that he heard it.
She coughed a little to cover the awkwardness, “By the way, your face… is it okay?”
She just remembered that James had hit him on the edge of his mouth, it was even bleeding before.
“It’s not okay.” Harold said bluntly.
He has already provoked James to hit him, why not use this chance to make Jenny feel bad for him, and to see if she will worry about him.
Harold looked at Jenny, checking her expression, he saw the worries in her eyes for a second.
“What can I do? Should I get some medication for you?” Jenny asked him.
Her question was actually more like a formality, she didn’t expect him to tell her that he was not okay. Now she didn’t know what she should do.
Harold was watching her all this time, he couldn’t help to laugh a little, and had to control himself to keep his expression cool.
“Hm.”
Jenny got up to ask the nurse for some medication, but her arm was still hurting her, “Shhh…”
Harold saw that she was in pain, and shook his head, “I will get it.”
After saying it, he turned around and left.
After a while he came back with a small white tube of creme, took some cotton swabs from the table and gave it all to Jenny.
Jenny had watched enough TV to know how to apply the creme on the swab, and then applied it on Harold’s lip.
She was very gentle, very careful.
She was afraid to hurt Harold, so she paused a couple of times while applying the medication, afraid that her good deed might backfire.
Harold was watching her, didn’t even blink his eyes.
She was a fine woman, even though he has seen a good share of beautiful women, but he had to admit this truth.
She had good shaped forehead, her hair full, her nose was tall, her facial lines pretty in it’s whole.
Her lips looked very soft, slightly opened sometimes, when she was smiling, she had little dimples on both sides, with her cheeks, they were bringing out the best of each other.
But on top of all that, her pair of eyes, bright and deep as the sea, and as if they would be afraid someone might take the beauty away, she had full and long lashes around her eyes.
Harold’s heart started to beat faster, his breath getting warmer.
Jenny could feel something changing, and raised her head in question, she looked right into his dark eyes, and got soaked into them.
In that moment, the air between them heated up, the feeling of wonderful times arising.
Jenny looked away, she forced herself to focus on the little wound on his lip.
She didn’t know why though, but even though she didn’t want to, her eyes were staring at Harold’s lips.
His lips were long and beautiful, prettier than the lips of any woman, thin, but not kindless, with clear lines.
The deep lines above his lips made him, a man, have lip marks, Jenny really liked that.
She blinked her eyes, and forced herself not to think about that, the awkward relationship between them. They should keep distance.
