In a private room on the top floor of the Imperial Club. It was their old spot for a drink.
James was in a restless mood. He hadn’t said a word. After sitting down, he drank a few glasses of strong liquor. The others were puzzled.
“James, why are you unhappy? Tell us and make us happy!”
Rory held a wine glass in his mouth and looked at James. Rory couldn’t help but click his tongue.
“Hey, James, don’t tell me you’re cuckolded?”
James turned and glanced at him. His brown eyes were cold and deep, extremely gloomy.
Rory immediately shut up. He shrugged his shoulders and hid behind Silence.
Silence held a glass in his hand but did not have a single sip. He looked at James’ strange expression and contemplated for a while.
“Your Uncle Corey wants to take Kara away and you’re hesitating?”
James snorted coldly. He raised his head and gulped half a glass of wine. He drank too fast, so he choked and coughed.
It would be strange if someone who usually didn’t drink suddenly drank so much and was okay.

“Silence, what did you find out about Corey?”

Silence said that he was not simple? Corey must be something extraordinary.
“Back to the main point. Why does Corey want Kara to leave you?” Silence changed the topic.
James leaned against the sofa and looked at the ceiling in a daze.
“Silence, let me ask you a question. If you’re in great danger now, and the reason why she is in danger is because of you, what will you do?”
Silence tightened his grip and the glass in his hand, his face turned bitter.
“Force yourself to leave her. Or rather, force her to leave by herself!”
“This is so your style,” James mocked.
“So you deliberately designed your cousin to go abroad?”
At the mention of Arya, Silence clenched his fists.
He looked like he wanted to fight with James.
“Why am I confused here? I don’t understand what you guys are talking about.”
Will looked puzzled, clueless about what James and Silence were talking about.
“I said, Zoie performed well in the army. She fought with the officers every day and was almost tortured to death,” Silence then told a bad joke.
Will’s heart sank.
Pain flashed through Will’s eyes, but he forced himself to hold on.
Zoie was a particularly stubborn girl. Back then, when she liked Silence, she barged into his world without hesitation. Zoie would announce to the world that she liked him, regardless of whether he liked her or not.
When Will thought of Zoie at that time, it really made him miss her.
James sneered in disdain, “I remembered that you tried all means to marry your first love then. Now you suddenly found out you like another woman. How does it feel?”
“James, you wanna fight?”
Will knew that he was mocking him again, so he splashed the liquor on James’ face.
“Yes, I want to fight.”
James turned over, grabbed Will’s arm, and fought with him on the couch.
Silence looked coldly, as if all this had nothing to do with him.
“James, you don’t hit people in the face. If you break his face, how is he gonna go on a blind date?”

“Shut up, Rory!” James had a headache listening to his buzzing.
“What are you talking about? Continue. I’m just an audience. Don’t worry, I know I probably have to pay to watch. I’ll pay for drinks tonight,” Rory excitedly urged James and Will to continue.
James was in a bad mood. So everyone else couldn’t have a good time either. That was why he mocked Will and wanted to fight him.
Now that Rory was meddling in their business, James and Will exchanged a look. They then stared at Rory at once.
Rory was frightened by their stares and shrank back.
“Well, I won’t talk anymore. I’m gonna drink.”
James snorted and immediately pounced on Rory together with Will.
They pressed Rory to the ground and started to beat him up.
“Silence, they’re bullying me. Two against one,” Rory covered his face and begged for mercy.
Silence was expressionless. Seeing Rory being beaten black and blue, Silence smirked.
“Shut up. You deserve a beating.”
“All of you are bullying me!” Rory cried.
James was once again sitting on the couch. When James heard Rory’s hypocritical voice, he couldn’t be angry any longer.
“Will, Kara is infected with a virus.”
Will was stunned. Looking at the information from last time, he was already studying the virus, but there was no clue after looking for many samples.
However, when Will heard James mention it, his heart was filled with doubts. Was there something wrong with Kara’s health?
But with James’ regard for Kara, if something happened to her, he would not be so calm to drink with them here.
“And the reason for her virus outbreak is me.”
No one managed to say a word.
Will frowned. He knew that the virus was very aggressive. But he did not expect that it would not only attack one’s body, but also affect the people around them.
“You’ll let her go?”
James shook his head. He didn’t want to let Kara leave. He really couldn’t bear to.

Silence couldn’t bear to see James in pain.

“James, send me a copy of the virus you mentioned. I’ll help you check it.”
James closed his eyes and let out a few deep breaths. His chest felt stuffy.
Suddenly, James heard his phone vibrate. Kara’s name appeared on the screen.
He stared at his phone but did not pick it up.
“James, running away is useless,” Silence reminded him.
James turned to look at Silence and suddenly let out a few strange laughter.
“Silence, sometimes I admire you very much. You’re heartless!
The girl who you’ve been guarding for 16 years, you can push her away just like that.”
Silence crushed the glass in his hand and gritted his teeth. “James, are you that happy to rub salt into my wound?”
What James said was true. The girl Silence had guarded for 16 years had grown up. She became a part of his life, but he still pushed her away, even though it would mean stripping his own soul.
The pain didn’t make people kill themselves, but it clearly let Silence learn something.

“I can’t say I’m happy, but at least I’m not the only one who is unhappy,” James sat up and had another glass.
Silence was heartless, but James was ruthless.
If James was not in a good mood, the others would not have a good time either.
Will and Rory shook their shoulders. Kara hadn’t left James, but James had already gone mad and started to hurt his buddies.
If Kara really left him, none of them would have a peaceful day.
