“Come to think of it, you’re right. I feel weird if I don’t see you causing a scene.”
Zack said without trying to ease the situation. They walked into the empty lift together.
Nancy rolled her eyes and pressed the button to the main lobby. “Why were you in the office? I didn’t even see you entering.”
Zack pressed the button to basement 2 and said calmly, “You were immersed in your work and I didn’t want to disturb you. Technicians like us naturally need to work overtime frequently.”
“Oh.” As they were speaking, the lift arrived at the main lobby and the doors opened. Nancy was about to step out but Zack held her back. “I’ll send you home.”
Nancy blinked and looked at him, “That’s nice of you. But I don’t think I dare to accept.”
Zack cheekily replied, “Don’t dare to? You already dared to kiss me, so what’s accepting a ride home?”
Nancy huffed, can he stop mentioning this? “So what if I kissed you? What are you going to do about it? After all, it was you who dared me to show you what I’ll do when I’m pissed. Then again, surely that wasn’t the first time you kissed a girl?”
After saying this, Nancy realized that she was very bold to say this. How could she say these?
Zack saw that she was being rebellious, said, “You don’t say, that was indeed my first kiss!”
“Your, your first kiss? Then good, that was my first kiss too. So we’re even, no one lost out.” Though Nancy said this, her racing heart betrayed her. That hunk Zack who many girls must be dying to have, is definitely the loser in this.
Zack saw through Nancy’s message, “I didn’t lose out? How can that be? If this leaks out, it’ll break a lot of hearts.”
A lot of hearts? Immediately Nancy’s mind flashed back to the moment that female voice called him honey. Oh no… what had she done?
Just a moment ago she thought that she was morally upright but it appears now that he is attached. She shouldn’t have kissed him.
Zack noticed the sudden despair in Nancy’s expression, tried to tone down the joke, “What’s the matter? I was just joking, don’t take it seriously.”
Nancy has always been a persistent person. Once she has decided on something, she will not change her mind easily. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be secretly in love with Zack for four long years.
She said softly in low spirits and her head bowed, “Oh.” Zack was only joking. The person he was referring to was her. She’s not an idiot to believe him.
Both of them walked to the basement car-park. Zack walked towards a BMW 7-series, opened the door and gestured her in. Nancy looked surprised and asked, “What happened to your motorbike?”
“It’s being serviced,” Zack replied.
“Is this car yours?”
“Yes, take it easy, I’m not a car thief.” Nancy didn’t think that what Zack said was funny.
Yeah, you don’t have the ability to steal cars but you certainly are able to steal my heart.
Both were silent as they drove. The radio was broadcasting the latest hottest hit, Secretly in love with you.
“I can follow behind you like a shadow chasing a dream. I can wait for you at the junction no matter if you were to pass by…”
Nancy listened to the song and a feeling of the gloom came over her. The lyrics seem to be describing her, she started to feel more and more depressed.
Her stomach started to growl loudly! Arrgh! Shut up you good for nothing tummy!
