Karen whispers, “What’s wrong with them?”
Shirley shakes her head, “I have no idea.”
It is supposed to be a nice dinner but Mack renders it like a war. Shirley and Karen are scared when eating. The battle of boys makes the delicious food insipid.
More importantly, Mack goes against Yates now. As long as it’s the food that Yates picks to Shirley, it must appear in Karen’s bowl.
Looking at each other, Shirley and Karen feel boys regards them as pigs.
Seeing bowls are going to be full, boys still wants to add.
“Well, how about drinking wine?” Karen can’t bear it, so she speaks.
The waiter pours a glass of wine for everyone. Karen takes her glass and says with a smile, “May our friendship last till the end of the universe.”
Mack then isn’t intended to battle with Yates so he raises his glass and drinks the wine all.
Finishing eating, Mack drives Karen back.
Shirley misunderstands. She thinks they’re going to dorm. Yates suddenly holds her hand when Shirley’s about to get in Mack’s car. Yates says, “You want to play gooseberry?”
Shirley stuns, “…”
Yates pulls her into his own car not until Shirley realizes.
“Where are we going?” Shirley spends a lot of time to calm down but her heart starts to beat fast again. Moreover, she blushes scarlet now after drinking wine.
Yates says lightly, “Of course my apartment.”
Shirley clenches her fist suddenly and straightens her back unconsciously. She wants to say something but doesn’t know what to say.
Yates reaches his house until she finishes thinking. “Get off,” said Yates.
Shirley nods dully and starts to unfasten the seat belt clumsily. However, the seat belt seems to joke with her. She just can’t unfasten it.
Yates sighs lightly and gets closer to hold her hand, “Let me do this.”
Shirley withdraws her hand right away and holds her breath. She can smell his faint scent, which makes her heart beat faster than ever before. She desires more. But she dares not to sniff hard, she’s afraid of being found by him.
With a clear sound, her seat belt is unfastened.
She flees out of the car and rushes in the elevator first and presses the button of 15 floor skillfully, waiting for him.
Yates arrives in few seconds later, standing in front of her with smiling, “Good job, you still remember where my apartment is.”
Shirley stuns, “…” Why those words sound strange and special?
Yates hands her the key, “Open the door.”
Shirley takes the key to open the door. His calm voice is heard from her back, “If you take the key, you can’t return.”
She pretends not to hear that. Walking in the apartment, she puts the key on the table. She is so embarrassed that she wants hide herself.
“I feel dizzy. I gotta to go to sleep. Good night.” Shirley still can’t face her affection towards Yates calmly. She is about to go to her room, dropping her head.
Yates pulls her out and against the wall, staring at each other.
Her heart is way out of control, beating heavily. Shirley feels her heart is in her mouth now.
“Why you flee from me?” Yates gazes at her. In fact, he knows what Shirley is worrying about. He just wants her to tell by her own, and then he’s gonna help her build the confidence.
Unfortunately, he underestimates her stubbornness.
She says, “That’s because… I want to play games recently.”
Yates never expects her answer will be this one, feeling so funny and speechless.
Although he knows why she’s playing games, feeling pretty disappointed, he hears her words and she still won’t be frank with him.
