Book:Heard That You Love Me Published:2024-5-1

Shirley stuns and can’t move a step. It has been half a month for them not to contact each other.
She has no idea whether they break up. All she knows is that they aren’t like a young couple.
Seeing this, Karen also feels a little bit awkward, so whispers to explain, “Well… I’m so sorry. I never expect that Yates is right here. I know nothing about this.”
Mack doesn’t know that Karen just brings Shirley only and he never has the prospects of the relationship between Yates and Shirley.
Nevertheless, out of respect, Mack smiles and says, “Oh, it’s Shirley! Come on and sit. This is his treat tonight. Our boss Yates. Just help yourself and don’t be overcautious. It will be better if you eat more.”
Feeling awkward, Shirley wants to sit down at the corner. But Karen just pushes her to the side of Yates’ and forces her to sit down. She even threatens Shirley to be obedient by with a stern look.
Yates utters nothing and seems to be calm. However, he peeks at Shirley from time to time, finding that she is much thinner than before.
What did she do in those days? Didn’t she eat meals?
“Excuse me, may I have the menu?” Yates says before Mack’s about to speak.
Mack is a little confused because he’s never seen this guy order for the table actively.
As usual, it is Mack that orders. Yates just sits there and eats without a word. Today it is abnormal!
Yates opens the menu and says to the waiter, “This one, this one, and this please. And the speciality of your restaurant.”
Closing the menu, Yates hands the menu to Mac, “Order whatever you want.”
Mack stuns, “…” It’s too abnormal!
Mack catches Yates’ eyes on Shirley quickly, and he finally sees it. Yates is still a man after all. He won’t be calm when he’s in front of the person he likes.
Mack opens the menu, getting close to Karen and asking in a gentle voice, “Babe, what do you want to eat?”
Karen smiles implicitly, “I like all the food you order.”
Then, Mack is really not polite because he only orders the expensive stuffs. The waiter even can’t believe his ears. He’s thinking that they really can eat those food all?”
After ordering the meal, Mack adds, “A bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild in 1985. Thank you!”
Shirley feels that she is like the fifth wheel all the time. Maybe she really should not come here with Karen.
All she wants now is to eat quickly and leave, and she dares not to look at Yates.
Yates is much more silent than Shirley, unwilling to break the ice.
Whereas Mack and Karen are literally envied. They want everyone to know that they’re so in love. Nobody’s never seen two people like them so attached to each other!
After dishes are served, Mack grabs his chopsticks and plans to pick food for Karen. He never expects that someone is faster than him. Yates quickly picks up a tender and refreshing chicken into Shirley’s bowl.
Mack stuns, “…” What? Mack’s been playing with Yates for years, but he’s never had a mouthful picked by Yates.
As he expects, he feels being cheating seemingly, seeing his best friend is hooked up by a woman. the mood, there will be a green illusion.
Shirley lowers her head, whose face begins to blush slightly, and whispers, “Thanks.”
Mack gives a snort of contempt without looking at them, and picks the food into Karen’s bowl, “Baby, be careful. It’s very hot.”
Yates says nothing instead, but he just picks the food which cannot be reached by Shirley into her bowl. Her bowl is about to be full but he has no intention to stop.
Mack freezes again. Damn it! He feels like that they are making a public display of affection.
He feels unpleasant about this meal with Shirley and Yates.
For the first time, Mack is mad at Yates because Yates views her girlfriend more important than him, and Yates turns against him deliberately. As long as Mack sees Yates plan to pick food for Shirley, Mack beats him to pick food into Karen’s bowl.
Shirley and Karen are very awkward.
