After they went upstairs, they got into the study.
James was dealing with some of his work, and Kara was reviewing today’s lessons. Every time Kara found something confusing, she would ask James to teach her.
In the quiet study, the sound of books flipping could be heard from time to time. James raised his head and looked at Kara who was learning seriously. He could not help but smile at her.
“Kara, would you get me a glass of water?”
Kara looked up at him, puffed up her cheeks, and stretched out her hand.
“Where is my service charge?”
James raised his eyebrows and glanced at her, “There will be one more dessert for you tomorrow.”
“Alright.” Kara left the study happily.
James watched her and couldn’t help but shake his head.
James opened the email and found it was from Will, in which the information he needed had been sorted out.
Seeing Will explain those medical data in simple words, James narrowed his eyes with hidden seriousness.
To put it simply, the elder of the Abbots, Howard Abbot, had conducted experiments on their children in order to develop a special medicine.
Therefore, Howard found many women and had more than twenty children in total. He injected a kind of virus into all those children.
Only four children survived. They were Kason, Vivian, Veronica, and Corey.
After the virus mutation occurred to the four people, it would increase the body’s antibodies. Ordinary drugs could not cure it at all, which greatly shortened their lives.
The one with the best virus mutation was Veronica, and the one in the worst condition was Kason.
Therefore, in order to let him live for a few more years, Kason did more inhumane experiments. He came to Kara now because he knew that Kara had a mutated virus and wanted to take her back.

James pinched the space between his eyebrows. If it wasn’t because of the experiment, then Veronica and Vivian might really be biological sisters.
His sharp gaze swept the data again. Suddenly, he thought of something and continued to ask.
“I remember that in my investigation of Veronica’s blood type, she was an O blood type.”
He was sure about Kara’s O type blood, but why his investigation result was different from Donald’s?
“Hold on.”
When Will heard James mention it, he immediately went to retrieve Veronica’s previous case report.
When Veronica was doing the prenatal examination, she left a lot of data.
“In the previous data, Veronica was indeed an O blood type. Moreover, when she gave birth to Kara, she also prepared an O blood transfusion for her. Could it be…” Will wanted to say something but stopped.
“What do you mean?” James suddenly tensed up.

The mother of AB blood type and the father of B blood type could have a child of several different blood types. They might be A type, B type, AB type. It would never be O type.
“Did you suspect…”
Will didn’t finish his words as he thought of how torturous the truth might be.
The blood type was the witness of the family bloodline. If it went against science, then this matter was also against the truth.
Kara’s real identity was even more complicated!
“You must keep it a secret!” James ordered coldly.
His love for Kara would never fade or change with her identity.
“James, there is no need for you to warn me about such a mess. If the information you gave me is true, it can explain the virus in Kara’s body, and your weird physical condition.”
When James lost his taste sense, he had taken a lot of medicine, but it had no effect. He used to think that it was James’s psychological effect. However, if these terrible experiments really existed, then James had a natural resistance to drugs.

“James, are you tired?”
“Yes. What are you going to do?” James grabbed her hand and nodded.
Kara blinked, giggled, and kissed his cheek.
“I’m full of energy now. I’ll give a kiss for you to charge up. Will you take it?”
“This bit of energy would be used up in the blink of an eye.” James raised his eyebrows.
Kara rolled her big eyes and patted him on the shoulder.
She comforted James, “Then you may rest for a while. I will finish my homework and we will go back to the room to sleep. Sleep is the best way to recharge.”
“Sleep?”
Hearing her words, James smiled teasingly.
Kara looked a little shy, but she did not run away. James had just returned from a long a business trip, and they did not spend nights for a while. She also missed him.
Although she would be embarrassed to do something like that, she knew he liked it very much.
James looked at her flushed cheeks, his Adam’s apple rolling. He couldn’t help but hold her in his arms and lower his head to kiss her lips.
Kara nervously grabbed his arm. Suddenly, she heard him groan. It seemed to be very painful. She stood up in shock.
“James, what’s wrong?”
“It’s fine.” James pretended to be calm, turning his head away from her.
Kara approached his arm, only then did she notice that he had specially sprayed perfume today to cover the smell of medicine.
“James, you are injured!”
“No.” James denied, not wanting to tell her about his injuries.
Kara thought about how obviously he was in a bad condition, while he still accompanied her patiently. She could not help but scold him angrily.
“James, how can you be so reckless? You’re injured and you still want to show off.”
“It’s just a small scratch,” James said indifferently.
“I just touched you and you were in so much pain that you broke out in a cold sweat. How could it still be a small scratch? Do you think I’m a child?” Kara angrily poked his wound.
Seeing James screaming in pain again, she was so scared that her face turned pale and she quickly apologized.
“Sorry. I’ll get the medicine for you.”
Seeing her walk out of the study in panic, James rubbed his eyebrows helplessly. The wound on his arm was a little painful. He endured it for a day and thought he could endure it all the time.
Her pale face told James that his injury must have frightened her again.
He got up to look for her while the lights in the study room suddenly went out. Then he heard Kara’s frightened cry.
James rushed out. When he reached the stairs, moonlight shone in and he saw a person jump into the villa.
He vigilantly returned to the study, took out some defensive tools, and went to find Kara.
